Ever since 2005 when a bright eyed Meredith Grey popped on our screens, we have been captivated. We've followed Meredith through way more than her fair share of heartbreak and a few lovely moments of triumph. We've grown and loved with the other doctors. We've learnt. We've laughed. And most of all, we've bawled. And now that season 13 has wrapped, we have a few questions that we'd love to have answered. Some of these are new questions that just popped up after this season and some of these are questions that have plagued us for years. A lot of loose ends were tied up with this finale but a lot of questions are still hanging. There are so many relationships to develop and plot points to fine tune. But at least that means there will never be a boring day at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

15 Are April And Jackson Really Done?

Is it really and truly the end for Japril? Say it ain't so! We were sort of holding out for these two. If we're being honest, we're still holding out just a little bit of hope. But it looks like it might be the end. After all the drama and heartbreak that went along with little Samuel and their divorce, we thought these two were done for. But then Harriet came along and they seemed to be rekindling something. They live together for crying out loud! And then there was that weekend away where April helped Jackson confront his father. They successfully operated together and then celebrated with a hotel hook up. Things were looking good for us Japril fans! But then we got... nothing. These two have barely shared any screen time since then. And now it seems like Maggie might be part of the picture. Nothing against Maggie, but we'd really just like April and Jackson to get back together and live happily ever after.

14 Is Riggs Good Enough To Replace Derek?

Short answer: nope! Long answer: hell no! Something about Nathan Riggs has turned us off since the very beginning. A guy whose first scene on the show is him getting punched by Owen Hunt is not really a guy that we're rooting for. And we know that he's changed and that him and Owen are fine now, but still. We've just never really liked the guy. He always seems out of the loop on the real drama and honestly,  he's just getting in Meredith's way. We're all for Mer finding new love. She shouldn't be a sad widow forever. But we're just not feeling this guy. He doesn't live up to Derek Shepherd (AKA: McDreamy). What's dreamy about Riggs? Not a whole lot. And now with all of this Megan drama that's about to come our way, we really don't want Meredith to have to deal with any of that.

13 Speaking Of Derek, How Come Cristina Didn't Come To His Funeral?

When Derek was killed off of Grey's Anatomy a couple of seasons ago, we couldn't quite believe it. Grey's without McDreamy? And we're really going to leave a pregnant Meredith with two kids and a dream house all by herself? But that's what happens when you cross Shonda Rhimes. You get killed right off of her TV show. And not even in a terribly dramatic or heroic way. Derek was killed by a passing car when he was helping out with another car accident in an area with no cell service. And then the hospital he was brought to didn't even have the resources to help him, and so Meredith had to pull the plug. What a brutal way to go.

But you know what we didn't get? How come Cristina Yang didn't come to his funeral? We know she isn't on the show anymore, but she could have made a guest appearance. Her person's husband just died! Surely she could hop on a flight from Switzerland to Seattle. Also, where was Addison? I guess she didn't care to attend her ex-husband's funeral?

12 Speaking Of Funerals, Who Should We Be Prepared To Lose Next Season?

It's not Grey's Anatomy if we're not shedding tears over someone's death. We were terrified that we were going to lose Dr. Stephanie Edwards this season but she ended up making it. She won't be on the show next season, but at least she isn't dead. We'll miss her but at least there is a chance of her returning for a couple of episodes if she wanted to. So who are we going to lose next? Maybe there will be a beloved patient who sticks around for a couple of episodes only to die on the table and break our hearts, just like Wilmer Valderrama's character did. Or maybe it's time for one of the doctors to bite the bullet. Shonda has been kind to the last few doctors who wanted to leave. Callie Torres got to move to New York with Penny, and Edwards gets to go off traveling the world. So who is going to be sacrificed to the Shonda gods so that the show can go on?

11 Will Jo And Alex Ever Get Back Together?

If you thought we were rooting hard for Jackson and April, just wait 'till you see how much we want Jo and Alex to finally sort everything out and get back together. These two deserve to be happy. They both had such terrible upbringings and it took forever for them to find each other. Alex has been through the wringer with some of his past loves (Ava and Izzie, to name a few). He needs someone like Jo in his life. And it looked like things were finally going well for them until the whole misunderstanding with DeLuca. Alex messed up. Big time. But he worked his way back and got Jo's trust. And they are really on the cusp of being solid again. But now we have Jo's abusive ex-husband back in the picture. Plus, there's DeLuca's crush to contend with. Why can't these two just be happy? We need a Jo and Alex wedding in season 14 please!

10 Why Do We Never See The Kids?

Okay, we know why we don't see the kids. It's a pain in the butt to employ child actors and keep them on set smiling and following directions. And trusting them with complex monologues or crucial plot points? Yeah, probably not. Plus, you can't even keep kids on set that long legally anyway, so why bother? But, from a story standpoint, it makes absolutely no sense. Meredith is a single mother to three young children, an attending surgeon, a house mother to a bunch of dysfunctional adults, and makes time to socialize and date. How is she doing this? How are those kids not around more often? Even Bailey, who just has the one child, is rarely ever seen with Little Tuck. Does Arizona ever go visit her daughter in New York or have her come to Seattle on holidays? We know these little ones exist, but where are they?

9 Why Does Everyone Live At Meredith's?

Don't these people make good money? Why are they all living at Meredith's house? And why would they want to live with a single mom and her three kids? How many rooms does this place have anyway? Or are Meredith and her three kids relegated to a broom closet so Maggie, Alex, Amelia, and whoever else is stopping by can sprawl out in the real rooms? So many questions! Do they pay rent? Meredith should be making some kind of money for putting up with all of these people. Or they must have to sign up for monthly babysitting and meal prep, right? There's just no way that madhouse makes sense. And whatever happened to Derek's dream house in the woods? We know Meredith sold it, we get that it would be sad to live in Derek's house without him but the poor guy built that from scratch for her. Surely someone in the hospital family could have enjoyed that place instead, no?

8 What's Happening In New York?

Look, we get it. Sara Ramirez, the actress who plays Callie Torres, didn't want to be Dr. Callie Torres anymore. Did it break our hearts? Abso-freaking-lutely. But we get it! 12 seasons is a long time to be on a show. And we have to give kudos to Shonda and the writing team for not killing Callie off in some horrific way that would leave everyone damaged and scarred for years. We kind of like that she is following her heart and starting a new adventure in New York. We'll always have a soft spot for Arizona and Callie (Calizona), but we're happy for Callie. Sure, it hurts to see her moving on with Penny, and Arizona moving on with Eliza, but we are slowly getting over it. But we do need something more. Sure, they might not be guest starring in every other episode, but give us a little taste of New York life. How are they doing? Is Callie an ortho god out there? Is Penny really a genius? Has Sophia discovered some underground music scene at her cool Brooklyn daycare?

7 Can Owen And Amelia Work Things Out?

Here's another couple that we're still holding a torch for. Things started out so great for these two after their wedding. They finally both made it down the aisle, moved in and wanted to start a family. It looked like a Grey's couple was finally going to get a happy ending. But, of course, that wasn't happening. Amelia's heartbreaking past with motherhood came out and it was too much for her to share with her partner. Owen was left in the dark and a rift developed between these two. But slowly, it seems like they are mending what was broken. Especially with the news that Megan, Owen's presumed dead sister, is actually alive, these two are closer than ever. Amelia totally supported Owen through the news and she drove with him to see Megan. We're hoping that these two can reunite over Megan's return and steer clear of any more drama.

6 Is Owen's Sister Megan Joining The Team?

When we learned that Owen's sister, Megan, was actually alive, we didn't really believe it. This is new territory for Grey's Anatomy. They've never brought someone back from the dead. Of course, she's not a zombie. But she is going to come back traumatized and definitely shake things up for Owen, Amelia, Riggs, and their friends. But after she adjusts to life in Seattle, is Megan set to join the team at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital? We're not saying she should pick up a scalpel tomorrow. She's going to need a lot of time to adjust to her new life and relearn her medical skills. She might not even want to be a doctor anymore! But we can definitely see it happening. You don't really become a doctor at this hospital unless you're related or familiar with one of the other doctors. So we would not be surprised to see a second Dr. Hunt in the O.R. sometime next season.

5 Are We Going To Meet A New Class Of Interns?

Or are we over that? For a while, we met a new class of interns every year because that's how Mer and the gang started out. They were all interns and we got to see them rise through the ranks and become attending surgeons. We followed the next class too, which had April, Jackson, and Lexie (RIP). And then there was the class with Jo and Edwards. But are we following interns anymore? We don't even know who the interns are these days. Are we over interns? I guess it's too much to be following the drama between all of the different levels of doctors. It was cute when Meredith and Co were interns and we got to see it from their perspective. But we don't really care to meet a whole new class of recruits. We only have room in our hearts for so many Seattle doctors. But with the way Shonda Rhimes likes to kill them off, we guess we should probably welcome in a few more just to be safe.

4 Is There Any Chance Of A Cross Over With Other ShondaLand Shows?

Okay, it sounds crazy but hear us out. They do this all the time with superhero TV shows, like the mega episodes with The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow. Plus, they like to do it on shows like Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Law and Order. So why not with the ShondaLand shows? It could totally work! Maybe the president on Scandal gets sick and has to be flown out to Seattle to be treated by the best in the business. And maybe he has to hire Annalise Keating and her law students to help keep the whole situation hush-hush. Okay, we're not screenwriters, but there is definitely some opportunity for cross over here! How awesome would it be to see Kerry Washington and Viola Davis strutting around Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital?

3 What Happens With Stephanie?

So, before the season finale, we were pretty convinced that this was the end of the line for Stephanie Edwards. We already knew that she wouldn't be returning next season (she's on a new show), so we assumed the worst. This is Grey's Anatomy, after all. And when the promo showed her diving into an explosion, fighting fires, and screaming for help, we definitely thought this was the end. But thankfully, it was not. Edwards was pushed to her limits in that finale but she was able to save a life and come to an amazing realization about her own life. It was sort of hard to believe that neuro-god-in-training Stephanie Edwards would give up surgery. She was always surgery obsessed. But maybe this near death experience opened her eyes. So what happens next? Does she really go off and travel the world? Does she find some romance in Paris or hike the Inca Trail in Peru? We wanna know!

2 How Much Grey's Is Left?

Serious question: how much Grey's is really left? Grey's Anatomy is entering its 14th season and has been on the air since 2005. When we started, Meredith Grey was just a young intern starting at Seattle Grace Hospital with her best friends. Now she's an attending surgeon, mom of three, widow, and working at the same hospital but on its third name change. A lot has gone down! So just how much is left? We still love our Grey's favorites, but it sort of seems like they have been through it all. Car crashes, explosions, bombs, plane crashes, drowning, sinking, shooters - you name it and Grey's has seen it. So where are we going from here? Is it just business as usual? How else are they going to shock us? Are we just going to keep going until Zola suits up for her first day as an intern at the hospital?

1 Shonda Rhimes, Why Do You Hate Us?

Why can't anyone ever just be happy, Shonda? It has gotten to the point where seeing a smile on Meredith's face is actually unnatural. If there isn't a natural disaster or emergency, we're not sure if we're even watching the right show. If we're not crying our eyes out, the episode probably isn't over yet. But this season has been a doozy. Let's start with the fact that Alex almost went to jail and all he wanted was Waffle Sundays. And then we had Maggie's sweet mom pass away right in front of our eyes. Remember that pregnant patient who came in with her baby daddy who was just a friend and they planned to raise the kid together? BUT THEN it turned out that she had advanced Pancreatic Cancer and died. Amelia's reveal of her baby dying. Jackson's dismissal of his father. Maggie realizing Riggs and Meredith were together. Edwards almost dying and then leaving. Ugh, our hearts. It was all just too much. But, it wouldn't be Grey's without it!
