When it comes to creative cosplay, this guy beats absolutely everyone. His name is Anucha “Cha” Saengchart (he is more well known as the guy behind “Lowcost Cosplay”), and he’s from Thailand. He comes up with the most unique and cheap coslpay costumes, and some of them are so damn ridiculous, that they will definitely leave you in tears. From laughter, obviously. The stuff he does is pure genius, and you can absolutely tell that this guy doesn’t shy away from any cosplay challenge. He will use the most unusual household items he can find, and somehow they always work perfectly for the cosplay photo. He just has a good eye for detail, and his imagination is impeccable. In fact, all of his stuff is so creative, it puts everyone else’s cosplay game to shame.
Don’t believe me? Just check out these 15 hilarious times his cosplay game was so on point.
15. When he turned himself into an actual ice cream cone.
I mean come on, he taped brown balls to his face, isn’t this guy just amazing? Like, how does one come up with that? The fact that he just sees costumes in all these random objects lying around his house is insane! And yeah, usually when you see the first few images you’re always thinking “what the heck is going on”, but at the end he executes all of his ideas so well! Like, who would think of taping brown balls and using them as ice cream sprinkles? And turning the whole photo upside down in order to achieve the effect? Yeah, no one but Anucha.
14. When he was absolute perfection as Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
The fact that he thought of using toothpaste (YES, you’re reading that right, actual regular toothpaste) and he thought of color inverting the photo to negative BLOWS MY MIND!! How does one come up with that? This way he absolutely nailed Ursula’s skin color, and her tentacles look exactly like the original Disney version. Can I also just point out how difficult it is to take a photo like this, since he had to distance himself from the toothpaste in order for it to seem proportional in the photo at the end. And of course, he absolutely nailed it. This guy is my hero. I’m not even kidding. When I grow up I wanna be just like him.
13. When he nailed the Titanic movie poster like it’s no big deal at all.
This one is one of his most famous pieces of cosplay photo art he ever did, and for good reason. As you can see, he used an iron for the boat – yup, an actual clothing iron, and somehow it worked out perfectly, but the fact that he even thought of it is so darn amazing! He just forms all of these amazing and cheap cosplay ideas in his head, and you cannot not be impressed. I mean, that doll as Rose is spot on. But most of all it’s his acting skills that take this photo the next level. You can tell that he’s deeply concentrated in his role as Jack Dawson. And can we all just thank him for showing us the whole process of getting the picture perfect, instead of just the final result, because this way we can appreciate it all so much more.
12. When his Thai dancer cosplay was pretty spot on.
I mean, he used freakin’ cheese flavored cone-shaped chips as the finger jewelry? Can it get any better than that? Yeah it actually can, ’cause the hair imitation is great too, and the flowers (aka chip bags), well they speak for themselves. And his eyebrows are so “on fleek” here, I’m pretty sure the term was made up just for him. This guy’s creativity never seizes to amaze, and his viral success is absolutely justified. We’re also just super excited to see what he does next, because now he set the cheap cosplay standards very, very high.
11. When he recreated a scene from the movie Warcraft and used a kitten for it.
And it was so darn adorable, I mean just look at it, he used a kitten as the wolf?? That is genius, but also too much to handle. Again, he played with the proportions to get that perfect angle just like in the movie, and he obviously nailed it, but what’s new when it comes to this guy? And, don’t even get me started on his costume, he used actual real baby carrots and tape for that arm bracelet, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything more hilarious. The hair, the pose, the cat, it’s all just too perfect, and I am wondering what we did to deserve this guy, because he truly is a gift from Internet heaven.
10. When he came up with this genius Cell from Dragon Ball Z costume.
This guy used freakin’ dustpan shovels to create this hilarious Cell costume, and come on, tell me that isn’t absolutely hilarious? I don’t remember the last time I laughed so much at a cosplay costume. He even hand painted the design onto them! And his wig is perfection, just like the rest of the whole look. Even if you’re not a Dragon Ball Z fan, you can definitely still appreciate the effort he put in to recreate this whole look, because it is very innovative (like, who would have thought of using dustpan shovels?? and the wig??). But then again, so are all of his cosplay costumes and photos. Everything this guy does is a damn masterpiece.
9. When he was the actual Captain America (no seriously, Chris Evans who?).
Move over Chris Evans, this guy is the real deal. Yes, he did use an actual fan to make the infamous Captain America shield, and it turned out freaking amazing! But really who would’ve thought of that?! Just look at it! He even hand painted all the colors for the shield himself, and he figured out how it would all look like once its on, that’s how committed he is to this whole ‘low cost cosplay’ thing. Honestly, this dude is my actual hero and I’d hereby like to thank the Internet for existing. And as usual, his costume is pure perfection here too, but I wouldn’t even expect anything less from him at this point anymore.
8. When he was SpongeBob SquarePants’ biggest competition ever.
Seriously, with every new cosplay he does, this guy just keeps getting more and more awesome. And his costume solutions are a whole new level of creative, he will find household items that go perfectly with any costume he wants to do. He went all out with his SpongeBob SquarePants costume, and it turned out freakin’ epic! He even used a magnifying glass to get his teeth bigger for the photo and painted on ping pong balls to use them as SpongeBob’s eyes! And I don’t even wanna know how he got the yellow packages to stick to his face like that, and what he painted his face with, but I am grateful he did, because this one may be my favorite cosplay he ever did. I mean come one, it’s SpongeBob, it’s definitely my favorite one.
7. When he did Popeye the only right way.
If you thought this list would get boring by now (which, if you did, go question your sense of humor), you’re lucky because things just got 10 times more hilarious. This genius recreated Popeye by painting him on his back and it turned out freakin’ amazing! Not only did he take us all back to our childhood, but he also proved, once again, what a creative genius he actually is. And look at how he created Popeye’s pipe by using a plastic cup, who on Earth would have thought of that? Obviously, he used someone’s helping hand to make Popeye’s face on his back, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is a genius cosplay. Popeye himself would approve (he’d eat some spinach first, but then definitely approve).
6. When he was the ultimate PlayStation controller.
This has to be by far the easiest, yet weirdly original costume anyone has ever come up with. Who on earth would think of turning themselves into a PlayStation controller? And since this one it’s very well painted, it actually does look like a PlayStation controller, so there you have it, if you ever need a last minute costume for a Halloween party, this guy has got you covered. All you need is your face, some face paint (in most cases makeup will do too) and somewhat of a steady hand, and you’re bound to be the talk of the party. Who knows, it might get really meta, and you may even end up playing a game or two on a real PlayStation. Doesn’t that sound fun?
5. When he was the perfect Pinhead with this cheap DIY costume.
I mean come on, look at the supplies he used! This guy just looks at random household items like some tape and q-tips ( YES, tape and q-tips!!!) and thinks of a hilarious and cheap way to turn himself into Pinhead from the Hellraiser series! And he executes it all so well, it makes me wonder how long it took him to tape it all up and make the q-tips stay put! It’s crazy how much you can do with so little, only if you have the imagination and creative skills, and this guy definitely has both. It makes you excited to see what he comes up with next, but spoiler alert, I can already tell you that whatever it is, it’s gonna be just as awesome!
4. When he was both, Buzz Lightyear and Sheriff Woody from Toy Story, and it was absolutely awesome.
As someone who grew up with Toy Story, I can confirm that this cosplay is so darn amazing and absolutely on point! The fact that he thought of using an empty water bottle to create Buzz Lightyear is hilarious, and his Sheriff Woody costume is also anything but disappointing. It just shows you that you could technically use anything to create a fun cosplay costume, and you should never give your imagination boundaries, because this guy doesn’t, and look at how much he makes us laugh! We need more people like this. More people who dress up as Buzz Lightyear and make our days that much happier.
3. 13. When he slayed us all with his Disney Rapunzel from Tangled cosplay game.
This guy used spaghetti (YES, actual spaghetti as in the thing you use to make pasta) and a yellow towel to recreate Rapunzel’s iconic hair, and honestly, after this I can die in peace, because I know I’ve seen it all. If you aren’t dying form laughter by now, are you even human? Because this dude just keeps getting better and better, and every time he comes up with a new cosplay, you know it’s about to get funny! Especially if he uses food as part of the costume. Also, can we talk about how he nailed Rapunzel’s facial expression? Look at that face and that smile, absolutely spot on! This guy is my ultimate hero.
2. And when he used his food again to become Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Speaking of food, he loves using it for his costumes, and as you can tell, it came back in action for his Davy Jones cosplay. And who doesn’t like a little food in their costume? I mean, what better way to create a tentacle beard than to use your leftovers from last night’s noodles? Jokes aside, the end result looks pretty damn awesome, and the hat that he used (and clipped back perfectly) is almost an exact copy of the original. And he always nails the proportions for these kinds of photos, which, if you’ve ever played with photography proportions, you know it definitely isn’t an easy thing to do. Now all he has left to do is find the Flying Dutchman and his costume is gonna be absolutely perfect.
1. Last but not least, when he turned himself into ET and nothing was ever the same.
This guy used his nose and turned it into ET himself, and if that isn’t the best thing you’ve seen today, you are living an awesome life, because for me, it is. And he only used his imagination and his own nose and created this magic! Can we also take a moment to appreciate that he drew it on upside down and it still turned out freakin’ amazing! And the small cotton balls for his eyes worked out perfectly. This guy is one of a kind, and hopefully he will continue surprising us with his genius cheap cosplay ideas, because the world needs to see more of him.
