In recent days, all eyes have been on the British royal family as they come together following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the country’s longest-reigning monarch. Since Her Majesty’s passing on September 8, members of her family have gathered to grieve together, along with the rest of its country and the world. And among those notably present are Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. And while Prince Harry didn’t get to see his beloved grandmother during Her Majesty’s final moments, he and his wife participated in The Queen’s funeral ceremonies. This comes less than a year after the couple famously did a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in which they made shocking allegations against The Firm. Since then, many have wondered if they plan to do another sit-down with Hollywood’s most successful media mogul again.

What Has Oprah Said About Prince Harry And Meghan Markle?

In recent weeks, fans watched the Duke and Duchess of Sussex view tributes for The Queen and take part in several ceremonies in her honor. And while this was all taking place, Winfrey expressed her hopes that relations would improve between the royal couple and the rest of the royal family.

“Well, this is what I think, I think in all families — you know, my father passed recently, this summer, and when all families come together for a common ceremony, the ritual of, you know, burying your dead, there's an opportunity for peacemaking…,” Winfrey said in a recent interview.

“And hopefully, there will be that.”

At the same time, during a conversation with longtime friend Gayle King, Winfrey also made it clear that she had no idea that the royal couple was going to be making some bombshell revelations during their now infamous 2021 interview.

“I was as surprised by the bombshell as everybody else. I was doing an interview to offer them a platform to tell their story about why they left and that was my number one intention, was clarity on why did you leave,” Winfrey explained.

“Some of the things that were revealed in that interview came as a surprise to me and those surprises are now referred to as 'bombshell' but I didn't set out to do a bombshell interview.”

The media mogul also added that her intention for doing the interview was to “allow them to tell their story.”

In addition, Winfrey also further shared her views about a possible family reconciliation for both Prince Harry and Markle, pointing out that the royals are “no different” when it comes to family matters.

“Everybody who has experienced some challenges in their families with in laws or brothers or sisters knows how difficult those challenges can be,” the media mogul said. “I'm sure for the royal family it's no different.”

Furthermore, Winfrey also made it clear that neither Prince Harry nor Markle have asked her for advice regarding their family matters.

“No one consults me on their family business so I try to stay out of family business,” she remarked. Winfrey then proceeded to end the interview with King saying, “Gayle that is the end of this interview.”

Does Oprah Still Talk To Prince Harry And Meghan Markle?

Winfrey may have not flown to the U.K. following Queen Elizabeth’s death, but it is believed that she has remained in touch with both Prince Harry and Markle since their interview in 2021. For starters, the prince and Winfrey collaborated on the Apple TV docuseries The Me You Can’t See.

And while it doesn’t seem like Winfrey and the royals have had any other collaboration since then, Prince Harry and Markle have been spotted visiting the media mogul’s home just months before The Queen’s passing.

Photos obtained by DailyMail.com showed the couple driving to Winfrey’s 70-acre Montecito residence back in June.

Along with a security convoy, Prince Harry and Markle also appeared to be accompanied by the actress’ close friend Janina Gavankar.

It also appears that the couple brought along their two children, Archie and Lilibet, as Gavankar sat in the front passenger seat beside Prince Harry while Markle sat in the back next to what appeared to be a baby carrier.

At that time, it was believed that Markle and the prince had gone to Winfrey to discuss a possible sit-down interview. Following The Queen’s death, however, it is unclear if any such plans would materialize if they ever existed.

On the other hand, there has been widespread talk regarding Prince Harry’s upcoming memoir, which is believed to contain a lot more revelations than the couple’s interview with Winfrey.

“Prince Harry will share, for the very first time, the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him,” Random House once said of the book in a press release.

Following The Queen’s death, however, there have been calls for Prince Harry to stop the publication of this book altogether.
