Scarlett Johansson is suing Disney for streaming The MCU's Black Widow on Disney + after it was contractually agreed upon that this would be exclusively released in theaters. She's enraged that this move by Disney has cost her some serious box office money and has officially filed suit to resolve this matter, which has clearly gotten under her skin.

Fans hear her, and in spite of the fact that they agree this was a shady move on Disney's part, they also agree that this is a 'bad look' for the actress, and are finding it tough to feel sorry for the multi-millionaire and her seemingly petty complaints against the studio that supports her.

Scarlett Johansson Files Suit

It's safe to assume that Scarlett Johansson attempted to seek alternate methods of resolution prior to filing a lawsuit against Disney, but it appears that conversations between Johansson and Disney didn't go in her favor after she blasted the studio for releasing Black Widow on Disney +.

The claims that the simultaneous release of her movie on both platforms is a serious hindrance to her income earning potential, and she vehemently claims that she was promised it would be an exclusive theatrical release.

It is not yet clear if Disney was in direct violation of the terms of their agreement, but Scarlett Johansson sure seems to think that was the case.

Of course, Johansson's income is generated directly from box office sales, and the performance at theaters is the key estimation of the fortune she could rake in from Black Widow.

Fans React To Johansson's Lawsuit

Fans agree this was an underhanded move by Disney, but aren't as convinced as Johansson that this situation requires legal intervention. Many are reminding her that this is what streaming services are known to do and that unless there is a written term within her contract stating blatantly that they will not release it to their streaming service, she doesn't have a leg to stand on.

In fact, most fans are completely unimpressed with Johansson's apparent greed, and how quick she was to take such affirmative action against the very studio that supports and employs her.

Comments to social media include; "this is a bad look on her," "oh wow, go cry in a bag of money you're still raking in millions, " and "oh I see 'petty' is your new look."

Others wrote; "Actors shouldnt recieve extra money from releases. Its always the millionaires that have this weird things that literally no one else in the worlds has in their contracts."

Another person weighed in with the comment; "I feel so bad for her while the rest of us are scraping by working 7 days a week!"

Others did step in to suggest that no matter what her personal position is, the studio is at fault. Their comments included; "Weird hearing so many people defend a multi-billion dollar company that breaches its contract with a high-quality service provider just because that service provider has been successful. I don’t think she’s looking for anyone’s pity; she’s looking to enforce her rights."
