As anyone that pays even in a small amount of attention to the modeling industry should already know, it is an extremely difficult business to get ahead in. After all, the power brokers in that world have so many people vying for jobs that finding consistent enough work as a model to make a healthy living can feel nearly impossible.

Despite how difficult being a model can be, at any given time there are a select few people in the business that are making loads of money for their work. Typically called supermodels, these people have to be so gorgeous that they look amazing no matter how they are made up, or if they have no makeup at all. They also have to deal with the stresses of photoshoots, which may not seem that bad but some photos from behind-the-scenes of America’s Next Top Model show how tough they can be.

Thankfully for Miranda Kerr, she has rightfully been considered a supermodel for many, many years at this point. Of course, even when people rise to the top of the same industry they can find themselves receiving wildly different paycheques. With that in mind, it begs an obvious question, how much money is Miranda Kerr worth today.

Just Starting Out

Born in Sydney, Australia, and raised in Gunnedah, New South Wales, Miranda Kerr’smother was 17-years-old when she gave birth to her only daughter. While talking about her childhood, Kerr once said it was "very grounding ... there wasn't any pretentiousness and no one really cared what you were wearing”. Given her choice of jobs, Kerr’s life clearly has changed a lot since then.

Able to land her first gig when she entered and won the 1997 annual Dolly magazine/Impulse model competition at only 13-years-old, that turn of events shocked many observers. In fact, many people in her area felt it was very problematic that a girl that young won a contest like that and even the local media covered the resulting controversy.

Signed by Chic Management's Sydney division, Kerr received her big break when a series of ads in which she wore various surf beachwear for Billabong caught people’s attention. Always a hustler, Kerr capitalized on that opportunity by moving to New York where she managed to take her career to a whole new level.

Rise To Superstardom

Once Miranda Kerr decided to transport her life to New York, she began to make a slew of runway appearances which allowed her to sign with NEXT Model Management in early 2004. A major turning point in her career, Kerr’s new management helped her to get hired by many notable labels including L.A.M.B. and Neiman Marcus among others. Arguably more importantly, Kerr began to appear in the pages of major magazines like Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Australian Vogue.

Even though the people in charge of the major clothing labels and fashion magazines pull the strings of the modeling world, you have to catch the public’s attention to become a supermodel. With that in mind, it would be hard to overstate the importance of Miranda Kerr’s appearance in the music video for Kanye West and Pharrell’s song “Number One”. On top of that, it meant a lot when Kerr appeared in an early-2006 episode of Project Runway in which she modeled contestant Daniel Vosovic's final collection.

Chosen to work with Maybelline New York in 2006, around that time Miranda Kerr also managed to become the first Australian Victoria's Secret model. Eventually promoted from there, Kerr became a full-fledged Victoria’s Secret angel which arguably could be called the most sought after job in the modeling world. Also chosen to become the face of PINK that same year, around that time it could be argued that Kerr became a supermodel for the first time.

Going on to find further mainstream success when she appeared in a 2007 episode of How I Met Your Mother, Kerr has landed a slew of high profile jobs ever since. For example, in 2007 Kerr was chosen to present the $2.5 million Victoria's Secret Fantasy Treasure Bra which is the kind of job that any model would love to get. In fact, Kerr’s career has so many more highlights that any attempt to list them all here would be foolhardy.

Rolling In The Dough

Among the most famous models throughout most of her career, Miranda Kerr has made the vast majority of her money through her day job. Of course, being a supermodel is a high paying job and Kerr appeared on Forbes list of the highest-paid models in the world for the first time in 2008 and several times since then. Unfortunately for Kerr, she isn’t one of 2020’s wealthiest models by net worth, but she still is quite rich.

Not content with getting paid as a model alone, in 2009 Miranda Kerr launched her own skincare line, KORA Organics. Definitely a profitable brand for Kerr, KORA Organics continues to sell well to this day. Also someone with a lot to say, Miranda Kerr published her first book in 2010 and since then she has released another three. Finally, Kerr has even given music a try as her debut single, a cover of Elvis Presley’s “You’re the Boss”, came out in 2014.

Given all of the revenue streams Miranda Kerr has adopted over the years, it makes sense that celebritynetworth.com lists her personal wealth at $60 million as of 2020. That said, it should also be kept in mind that Kerr is married to Snapchat co-founder and CEO Evan Spiegel and he is a billionaire.
