Courteney Cox gained legion of worldwide fans after her starring role as Monica Geller on the NBC sitcom Friends, which aired from 1994 to 2004.

A month after the show's end, Cox welcomed her only daughter Coco Arquette.

Jennifer Aniston Is Coco Arquette's Godmother

On June 12, 1999, Courteney Cox married fellow actor David Arquette at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. Five years and one day from their wedding date, the Arquette's welcomed Coco Riley Arquette on June 13, 2004. In a 2010 appearance on Lopez Tonight, David Arquette explained that Coco is named after her mom Courteney Cox. It combines the first part of Courteney Cox's first name and the first part of her last name.

Courteney Cox's is best friends with her Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston who is godmother to Cox's daughter. Cox was also maid of honor at Aniston's 2015 wedding to Justin Theroux. In 2014, Aniston gushed to More magazine per The Evening Standard about the close bond she shares with Cox. "I've slept in her guest bedroom a lot. Without giving away too much of my private stuff, all I can say is she's been there for me through thick and thin."

Jennifer Aniston Wished Her Goddaughter Coco A Happy 17th Birthday

Last year, Jennifer Aniston wished Coco a happy 17th birthday along with her mom and actor dad David Arquette. Aniston shared a bunch of sweet throwbacks from Coco's younger years. "Happy birthday my sweet Cocolicious!" she wrote over one, which showed her holding a young Arquette tight in front of a sunset." Godmama LOVES you."

The next cute snap saw Jen and Courtney cuddling close with a napping Coco in between them. Dad David Arquette, 49, also took to social media to wish his little girl a happy birthday. He posted a photo of Coco posing in a Victorian era-inspired costume while sitting in a field surrounded by flowers and fruit.

"HBD @cocoarquette_ " he said in the caption, tagging Coco's account.

The Never Been Kissed actor shared an adorable throwback photo in which he is seen giving a young Coco a piggyback ride and captioned it with three red hearts. He captioned the video, "I love you @cocoarquette_ @davidarquettebr sent this as a Happy Birthday!"

Courteney Cox also gushed about her teen daughter on her 17th birthday. The Scream 5 star commemorated Coco Riley Arquette's big day with a heartwarming collection of photos. "Happy 17th birthday to my strong, sensitive, creative, loving, soulful, beautiful, talented, and wise Coco. I love you so much," the Friends star wrote in the caption of the post -which included four photos showing Coco growing up over the years.

Courteney Cox Admitted That Her Daughter Coco Doesn't Like To Watch Her On Screen

In an interview with Extra, Courteney Cox confessed that Coco isn't the biggest fans of her parents' work. Despite the fact that her parents met on the set of the 1996 horror classes Scream, Coco has still only "seen part" of the movie. The actress revealed, noting that the teen also hasn't seen the franchise's fifth instalment. "She doesn't like to watch anything we do," the 57-year-old confided. "I'm gonna make her watch this one with her eyes open… I didn't watch most of this film. I hear it's really good."

However, when asked if Coco has aspirations of becoming an actress, Courteney replied: "Oh for sure. Although she is tortured by me saying, 'Can we do something for Instagram?' or 'Can I film this?' She doesn't like it at all. She gets really mad, and I have to negotiate. I use her for Instagram," the star continued. "And she knows it, and she really rebels. But since she's going to be in the business, I know. She'll have to get used to some eyes on her."

Meanwhile, David Arquette has given his own advice to his daughter as she pursues an acting career. “She’s really so super talented,” the actor, 50, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting the new Scream film. “She’s got so much confidence. … She’s got a really great head on her shoulders and she’s really so much more talented than I could ever imagine. So I just try to tell her, ‘Don’t take rejection personally. It’s a business that is mostly rejection.’”

The Virginia native told his teenager daughter to “believe in” herself, he told Us, adding, “If she doesn’t get a part in the school play she was hoping for, I just walk her through it. ‘There will be other stuff to try.’ I try to set the expectation that things like that happen.”
