Ahead of his debut album release with Montero later this month, Lil Nas X is going above and beyond to create shock value on social media — and it seems to be working.

Over the weekend, the controversial rapper was back to his trolling ways when he took a photo of his baby shower gift which had been presented to him by none other than Barack Obama — yes, Obama.

Well, that’s if you believe Lil Nas X — the biggest troll in the music industry.

As fans will recall, it was earlier this week when the “Call Me By Your Name” hitmaker revealed his “pregnancy” with fans, announcing that he was pregnant with his album, which is slated for a release on September 17.

This was followed up with his basket of gifts from his supposed baby shower on Saturday, September 4.

“THANK YOU @barackobama,” Nas X captioned the post.

Funny enough, however, most of his fans didn’t realize they were being trolled by the 22-year-old, with some people trying to figure out why Obama would’ve sent him a baby shower gift when he clearly wasn’t pregnant.

Others described the publicity stunt as “desperate” but “smart” considering how the photo was later shared on Twitter and amassed tens of thousands of likes as people speculated why Obama would send a basket of baby shower gifts to Nas X.

The latter has clearly mastered the skills of trolling if he can lead people to believe he’s not only pregnant but also receiving presents from the former President — but then again, Nas X’s target audience is presumed to be children.

Doesn’t that make it worse? Whatever the case, the promotion is working because, aside from his social media antics, Nas X will also grace the stage at the Video Music Awards on September 12 where he’s bound to give another shock-value performance.

His debut album includes features with the likes of Miley Cyrus, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Elton John, and Jack Harlow.
