Only Murders in the Building has become one of Hulu's biggest shows to date. The ten-part series features Selena Gomez (Mabel), Steve Martin (Charles), and Oliver (Martin Short) as neighbors who try to solve a murder in their Upper West Side apartment building.

When the show aired its last episode in October, the finale saw Selena Gomez's Mabel Mora kneeling next to a dead body. She is then arrested along with her true-crime-loving neighbors Charles (Steve Martin) and Oliver (Martin Short), which isn't good news for them — or their podcast.

The Hulu series has begun filming the show's second season, and on-screen crime-solver-turned-alleged-criminal Selena Gomez is sharing her reaction to reading the script. Per Gomez, fans should expect the story to be very different from what we've seen already.

In conversation with Variety, the actress shared her response to reading the script. Gomez believes John Hoffman, who co-created the series with Steve Martin did a "great job" creating a new story for the show.

"Another season was casually thrown around, but then John started spewing these ideas out and sure enough they have come into fruition,” Gomez says.

The Grammy-nominee was "shocked" when she read the script. "When I was reading it, I was really really shocked because this is so different but it’s what makes the show so great. They did such a great job creating another story."

This makes us wonder what season 2 has in store for us. Is Mabel Mora secretly responsible for the murder? Did she see the perpetrators? How many more murders before the criminals in this building are apprehended? The new season is sure to answer these questions!

She's like super cool. I cut my hair. So it's a whole fresh start for Mabel," she told the publication.
