The ladies behind the hit song "Don't Cha" have now hit another milestone anniversary, this time with their early hit "Buttons," which originally debuted on April 11, 2005.

The Pussycat Dolls have long been known as one of the girl groups that broke the norms of female music groups forever, paving the way for future icons like The Spice Girls and Destiny's Child.

Fans have been excited to celebrate the group's "love to hate" song, considering it's a tune that only these girls can sing. Although members Nicole Scherzinger, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar, Kimberly Wyatt, and former member Melody Thornton have not commented on the anniversary, social media has had plenty to say.

"Buttons" was the fourth single released for the promotion of the girl group's debut studio album, PCD. Although it was not a number one hit, it peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100.

The original and remixed versions of the song released on the same day, with the music video being for the remixed version that featured rapper Snoop Dogg. However, the majority of televised performances were of the original.

The song's music video later went on to win Best Dance Video at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. "Buttons" won five awards in total, and was nominated for six other awards.

As of now, "Buttons" is certified platinum in the U.S., and the girls (not including Thornton) reunited in 2019 and performed a mashup of their hits on The X Factor: Celebrity.

Currently, the Pussycat Dolls have released since their reunion, called "React." Although it was not commercially successful, it is highly proven that "Buttons," like their other previous hits will live on. For any who wishes to stream PCD, it is available on Apple Music and Spotify.
