When a celebrity is asked to do a Las Vegas residency, it is a big deal and honor. If a singer is performing in Vegas, they are usually well-established and have a great backlog of music to their name. It used to mean that their career was over, but now it's proof they've made it.

Katy Perry just announced she will be bringing her residency PLAY to Las Vegas at the end of the year. She will be packing up her things and heading to Sin City to put on a show-stopping performance. Hopefully, she opens up the show with her hit, "Wakin' Up In Vegas."

This comes after she released her fifth studio album, Smile, last August just a few days after she welcomed her first child, Daisy Dove, with fiancée, Orlando Bloom. No announcement on if a Smile Tour will happen.

Here's everything we know about Katy Perry's upcoming Las Vegas residency, PLAY.

9 She Will Be Playing At The Theatre At Resorts World Las Vegas

The Resorts World Las Vegas will be opening this summer and host a number of singers, including Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and more, before welcoming Katy Perry on December 29th, making it a big American Idol party. The hotel itself has 3,500 rooms for guests.

8 More Dates Had To Be Added Because Of Overwhelming Demand

The show starts on December 29 and had more dates on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Then January 7, 8, 12, 14 and 15. Then she takes a month off and starts back up on March 2, 4, 5, 11, 12, 16, 18 and 19. All shows start at 8PM except for December 31, which is at 9PM.
