7 Lively and Reynolds Reached Out To Food Organizations Amid The Lockdown

Last year the Proposal actor and the Gossip Girl star reached out to food organizations who were putting in extra efforts to cater to the feeding of those affected by the pandemic lockdown. Reynold made it known on Instagram that he and his wife donated $1 million to the course of two such organizations. The star actor relayed that the whopping sum was to be shared among FEEDING AMERICA and FOOD BANKS CANADA. Lively also shared the news on her Instagram page adding that although the social distancing was keeping people apart, everyone could stay connected with technology. She mentioned others who have helped children and older senior citizens, adding that everyone could “do something for each other, even if that’s simply staying home.”

6 The Couple’s Good Cause Extended To Immigrant Kids In 2019

The celebrity duo felt it was important for the rights of immigrant kids who have been separated from their families to be protected, and they backed it up by action. To this effect, Reynolds and Lively made donations to two organizations concerned with immigrant protection issues. The parents of four sent out 1$ million each to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and the Young Center For Immigrant Children's Rights. It was announced that the money would help promote racial, and social justice as well as equality. The couple shared in a statement that the goal was to foster more compassion and empathy in this world.”

5 There Were More Donations Channeled Toward COVID-19 Relief

Following the news about Blake and Ryan doling out money to food organizations, they pulled their weight once again. The couple sent out funds of $500,000 to FEEDING AMERICA and FOOD BANKS CANADA. This time it was to help gather the needed supplies to bring much food to the citizens struggling with their finances. This was in February 2021. FOOD BANKS CANADA took to their official Instagram page where they penned a “thank you" note to the husband and wife noting that they showed support towards their COVID-19 Response funds. Feeding America sent out their appreciation on Twitter, showing a statement where Lively and her spouse mentioned that they felt privileged to help.

4 Their Efforts With The Indigenous Youth

Reynolds, who is a native of Vancouver, and his wife felt the need to provide for Influence Mentoring, a group that shows support to indigenous students who are seeking job opportunities and also helps them match up with mentors in their chosen fields. The pair donated $250,000 to the group in March to help foster “the spirit of reconciliation” with the students and their mentors. The progress also reaches out to the indigenous youths in Canada who were going into the labor market as greenhorns.

3 They Showed Support For Indigenous Women

More of the power couple’s efforts last year saw them donating a huge sum of $200,000 as support for Canada’s National Indigenous History Month. Lively and Reynolds provided the funds and sent them to St. Francis Xavier University’s Coady’s Institute’s new initiative, the Circle of Abundance. The initiative is geared toward helping Indigenous Women amplify their voices. The couple’s donations served as a kick-off to reach the $1 million goal.

2 They Donated To NAACP Amid The Racial Injustice And George Floyd’s Death

A few weeks before the Canada National Indigenous History Month donation, the award-winning actress sent $200,000 to the NAACP’s Legal Defense Fund. This came after the death of George Floyd and amid the protests that were going on in the country. Reynolds also posted a message on social media noting the essence of privilege and pledging allegiance and support to the affected community.

1 The Pair Provided Relief for Haiti Amid the Earthquake Issues

Per E! News, Reynolds, and Lively opened up about their efforts in supporting the earthquake relief initiative going on in Haiti. The stars related that they sent out $10,000 each to four charity organizations devoted to the affected Haitians amid the crisis. The funds were sent out to Airlink, Hope for Haiti, and Haiti Air Ambulance. The Hope For Haiti initiative sent out messages to the couple on social media thanking them for their affection. In the message, they revealed that the donation would go a long way in helping to provide relief for the communities in Southern Haiti and the hardest-hit areas.
