According to Good Housekeeping, the couple got married in 2010 and Hilary decided that she wanted a divorce in February 2015. There was news that they had broken up in 2014, and fans wondered why they were going their separate ways.

What Happened With Mike Comrie?
Although fans didn't like a Hilary Duff movie, the actress is praised for starring on Lizzie McGuire, Younger, and many other great movies. After marrying Matthew Koma in December 2019, Hilary's career has been going amazingly well, and her fans are thrilled to see her succeed. After news broke that Mike Comrie and Hilary Duff were getting divorced, there was some troubling news about him.
In 2017, the LAPD said that Mike Comrie was investigated for "sexual battery." According to Us Weekly, TMZ reported that Mike and the woman knew each other, and the woman alleged that Mike assaulted her at his condo in Los Angeles.
According to E! News, Mike Comrie wasn't charged with r*pe, and a LA County District Attorney's office spokesperson explained to the publication that that there was "insufficient evidence" so the case was dropped.
The Divorce
The Daily Mail wrote an article saying that Mike Comrie was at a Beverly Hills restaurant called Mastro's Steakhouse and that he had too many drinks and was asking women to sleep with him. TMZ reported that Hilary filed for divorce the day following the publication of that story.
According to People, Hilary Duff suggested that getting married at a young age was what spelled disaster for the couple. Hilary said "I don’t think we were mature enough to stick it out" and explained, “I was 22 when I got married. I’m now divorced, I have a 4-year-old — I wouldn’t change any of it for the world." Hilary is now 34 so it's interesting to hear her reflect on her younger years and fans like hearing her POV on love and marriage.
In a podcast interview with Nico Tortorella, who played Josh on Younger, on his show The Love Bomb, Hilary talked about how she wasn't certain she would get married after divorcing Mike. Hilary also said that she and Mike were still on good terms: "I never want to have any negative — I mean, that’s hard to say no negative feelings — but we got together based on love and we separated in a very loving way. I can’t imagine going through that process with anyone but him and he continues to be my very good friend."
