Khloé Kardashian and her mom Kris Jenner have been scrutinized after air shots showed their mega mansion is almost completed.
New images show the lavish homes begin constructed side by side in the exclusive gated community of the Hidden Hills.
The photos show the progress that has been made since the houses were last pictured.
Now transplanted trees and shrubbery can be seen in a newly constructed driveway linking the mansions to the streets.
The massive homes are mere feet from one another, ensuring the Good American founder and the multi-million momager will be able to visit one another at their leisure.
Khloé and Kris are in the midst of having their own pools built, but only the youngest Kardashian sister appeared to have her own pool house.
According to The Dirt, Khloe's new property cost her $17 million while Kris - who has the larger home - paid $20 million for a combined total of $37million.
Some social media commentators felt that it was "unnecessary" for anyone to live in a house so large and expensive.
"Spending money like its a waterfall. Decadence at its vilest worst," one comment read.
"Just don't get why a single retirement age mom and a single mom with one child need homes that large. Warm and cozy won't be words to describe their homes," a second added.
"Why does ANYBODY want/ need a house that big? Yes I know they don't have to cook or clean but really? Acres of empty rooms would just emphasise your loneliness. I can understand a large living and outdoor area but the size of these houses is ridiculous," a third commented.
But some Kardashian fans came to the family's defense:
"When they spend it, someone else gets it - so way better than it staying in a bank. Think how many people will be earning a living from this. The construction workers, the plumbers, pool builders, landscapers, architect, designers, furniture makers, window installers. Some people dont see past a price tag. This is how an economy grows," one person wrote.
