For many '90s kids, pop music didn't get much better than the Backstreet Boys. We sang along to songs like "I Want It That Way" and plastered posters of our favorite member of the famous boy band on our bedroom walls. Many people remember when Nick Carter's younger brother Aaron released a cover of the catchy pop song "I Want Candy" back in 2000. It was fun learning that the siblings were both talented and with their blonde good looks, it's no wonder that they both had such a large fanbase.

Before too long, we all learned about Nick Carter's sad family background. And it looks like the trouble is continuing, as Aaron Carter lost his $100 million net worth. While we always hope to hear that Aaron and Nick are close and that they hang out all the time, that definitely doesn't seem to be the case. It turns out that Nick Carter was given a restraining order against his brother Aaron Carter. Let's take a look.

Nick Carter Got A Restraining Order Against His Little Brother Aaron Carter

Fans have been confused by Aaron Carter for a while now, and the news about this family just keeps getting sadder.

Part of the fun of reaching certain milestones, like getting married or announcing a pregnancy, is celebrating with friends and family. But unfortunately for Nick Carter, he's married and has three children (Pearl, Saoirse, and Odin), but can't share the joy of his family life with his younger brother Aaron.

In 2019, a Los Angeles judge gave Nick and Angel Carter a restraining order against Aaron Carter.

According to E! News, this meant that Aaron couldn't be near his sister Angel, his brother Nick, and/or their family members for a period of one year.

E! News reported that Nick Carter put out a statement saying that he and Angel wanted Aaron to get some help and treatment, and they were really worried about what was going on with him.

Nick mentioned the terrible things that Aaron said about Nick's wife Lauren, who was pregnant the time:, "After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret that we were required to seek a restraining order against our brother Aaron today. In light of Aaron's increasingly alarming behavior and his recent confession that he harbors thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child, we were left with no choice but to take away every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family."

What Happened Between Aaron and Nick Carter?

Fans of Aaron and Nick Carter's pop music would never guess that the siblings would have such a difficult relationship. But there is even more to the story: Melissa Schuman accused Nick Carter of sexual assault, and Aaron Carter has been talking about the situation. Aaron mentioned this when talking about the restraining order.

When the restraining order was put in place, Aaron Carter said on Instagram, "I will abide by the judge's order, but I will not stop speaking on behalf of victims such as Melissa Schuman. I am saddened by my family and what they have done to me. Your lies have broken my heart,"

Aaron also said, "I am devastated by what happened in court today. My sister lied over and over in an effort take away my 2nd amendment rights and she did it on behalf of my brother to silence me talking about how he... sexually assaulted multiple women."

Charges weren't brought against Nick Carter, according to CNN, as the alleged assault took place in 2013 and the statute of limitations was done in 2013.

Nicki Swift reported that Aaron hasn't had very positive things to say about his brother Nick for a long time. When their sister Leslie passed away in 2012, Nick didn't go to the funeral, and Aaron spoke out about that, as he wasn't happy about Nick's decision. Aaron also talked about Nick bullying him on House Of Carters, the reality show that aired on E! in 2006.

It's hard to imagine that Nick and Aaron Carter will mend things between them anytime soon as their bond has been broken for a long time. Billboard reported that Aaron didn't go to Nick's wedding back in 2014, and when Angel got married in 2014, Nick didn't go.

Aaron shared in an interview with GQ in 2016 that he felt that he had always made money for his family and that he was a breadwinner at the age of 7 on. He said that when Nick turned 18, he left home and didn't help anyone.
