Married at First Sight is one of the most popular social experiments on TV where strangers have to legally get married even though they don't know anything about each other and are leaving their fate up to three marriage experts. The thought of doing anything for love—even marrying a stranger—has drawn millions of people to the show. As of right now, there have been 49 couples matched by the experts, including the five couples featured on the new season 13. But sadly, most of the couples don't stay married.

The social experiment has only had a 30% success rate so far, so there have been a lot of red flags in the couples' marriages over the years and fans noticed them even before the couples decided to divorce. Let's take a look at all of the red flags we've seen on this season so far.

10 Rachel And Myrla Admitting They Cheated In Past Relationships

During episode 6 of this season of Married at First Sight, the couples went on a boat in the Florida Keys where they were having their honeymoons. They were on the boat so they could go paddleboarding in the ocean. Before they started paddleboarding, they played the “never have I ever” drinking game. When Bao said “never have I ever cheated,” Rachel and Myrla both took sips of their drink to admit they cheated in the past. That doesn’t necessarily mean they will cheat again, but cheating at all is still a red flag.

9 Myrla’s Stubbornness And Expectations

Myrla’s stubbornness first showed when she didn’t want to kiss Gil and barely wanted to touch him. Although it’s not a bad thing to want to take things slow, her stubbornness has affected their relationship in other ways. She complained about a lot of things during their honeymoon and made it clear she didn’t want to help walk Gil’s dog even though they live together now. Myrla also has expectations of what she wants to do with her husband even if he doesn’t really want to do it and that caused some challenges in their marriage. As of the latest episode (episode 10), things seem to be getting better between them though and hopefully things will continue to go that way.

8 Ryan Admitting He Doesn’t Feel The Same Way As Brett

When Ryan and Brett got married, you could tell Ryan was disappointed. He didn’t seem as happy as the other cast members when they saw their spouse down the aisle and he later explained at the reception that Brett wasn’t his type. He thought maybe he would be able to get over that eventually, especially since he thinks she’s a good person, but in the latest episode, he says he still doesn’t really feel anything for her. But Brett has begun to have feelings for him. It’s definitely a red flag that he doesn’t feel the same way as her.

7 Johnny Saying Bao Can Be “Childish”

This was before things started getting better for Johnny and Bao and before (spoiler alert) they consummated their marriage. But it was still a red flag at the time. Before they felt a sexual attraction towards each other and they were intimate, Johnny said he wasn’t feeling attracted to Bao because he felt like she was being “childish” sometimes. Johnny wasn’t used to the way she expressed joy at first, so he told the experts how he felt in front of Bao and she was upset about it. It seems like they’ve gotten past it, so hopefully that doesn’t happen again.

6 Michaela Yelling At Zack And Leaving The Apartment

It seemed like Michaela and Zack were going to have a fairytale love story, but things quickly spiralled down and they ended up having a rocky start to their marriage. They had to miss their honeymoon since Zack got sick and as soon as they moved into their new apartment, they got into a huge fight. Zack accidentally fell asleep and then left the apartment when he woke up while Michaela was still sleeping. She got so angry from him leaving without telling her that she packed up her stuff and left for a little while. Then she yelled at Zack when they were both back at the apartment.

5 Zack Telling Michaela He’s Scarred From Her Actions And Isn’t Sure About A Future With Her

Zack and Michaela tried to make up after that huge fight, but it hasn’t been easy. They seem like they can’t trust each other anymore and it’s causing a lot of red flags. Michaela apologized to Zack for everything she did, but he keeps saying he’s scarred from it and he might not be able to ever get over it. He even told her he’s not sure about a future with her now too. It’s normal for couples to have disagreements, but when you can’t get over your partner’s actions, it’s a red flag.

4 Jose’s “Perfect Wife” Checklist

From the very beginning of this season, we learned how much Jose wants his “perfect wife.” When all of the guys met before their weddings, they were talking about what they hoped for when they meet their wives and Jose let everyone know exactly what he wanted. He started listing every single thing he wanted in his future wife and she had to meet all of them or he didn't want her. His list could’ve been as long as Santa’s naughty and nice list by the time he was finished. It’s not fair for him to expect so much from his wife and that was already a huge red flag from the beginning.

3 Johnny Admitting He Might Not Be Ready For Marriage

This was also before things started getting better for Johnny and Bao. When they were having disagreements a lot, Johnny seriously began to question if he’s truly ready for marriage or not. It was around the time he said he thought Bao was “childish” sometimes and he still thought he wasn’t attracted to Bao. He seems to have changed his mind since then. It was still a red flag though. And although the couple seems to be doing a lot better, we’re not sure if Bao completely trusts him yet.

2 Jose Has Never Fallen In Love No Matter How Long His Relationships Were

At the end of episode 9, Rachel says that she told Jose she loved him and he said it back to her. A few episodes before that, Jose told Rachel that he has never fallen in love before even though he has been in long-term relationships before, including one that lasted four years. It doesn’t make sense why he would stay with his ex-girlfriend for so long if he didn’t love her. We’re wondering if he really meant it when he told Rachel he loved her too, especially after what happened in the latest episode.

1 Jose Cursing At Rachel And Then Locking Her Out Of The Apartment In The Middle Of The Night

In the latest episode, Jose went way too far and we saw a side to him we have never seen before. He said Rachel called him by a different man’s name (which we later find out she accidentally called him Johnny) and he didn’t take it well at all. Rachel shouldn’t have done that, but she apologized and hasn’t done anything else wrong. Instead talking it out with her and asking her why she did that, he just started yelling and cursing at her. And on top of that, he locked her out of the apartment at one in the morning. That’s the biggest red flag of this season. It shows that Jose can be abusive and his marriage to Rachel is most likely not going to work out now.
