When she first popped up onto the charts, Taylor Swift was only a teenager. The two happen to be friends, so it comes as no surprise that Emma raved about Swift’s album 1989 on Twitter, and even included the lyrics to one of Swift's songs during her acceptance speech at the 2024 Academy Awards.

It’s extremely rare when your friend is a famous singer and uses YOUR relationship as a muse for a hit song, which was exactly what Taylor did with Lena Dunham (creator of the HBO series Girls). Apparently, Swift’s song “You Are In Love” was inspired by Dunham’s relationship with Jack Antonoff. Unfortunately, the couple has since parted ways.

A lot of popular artists have done renditions of Swift’s songs, but none can really break the mold that Kelly Clarkson’s vocal range managed to create. Everyone knows the name Billy Joel – he built an entire empire off of his music (and even a Broadway musical) and has won countless awards. So it shouldn’t be shocking that he finds Taylor incredibly talented and is a “Swiftie” himself. It seemed like every other day, Katy Perry and Taylor were fighting about SOMETHING. The two used to be close friends until something tore them apart (dating John Meyer perhaps?) and they would go at each other on social media. 10 Has NEVER Been A Fan: Kim Kardashian
So, Kim Kardashian took some heavy criticism for calling out Swift (who called out Kardashian’s ex husband, Kanye West for some lyrics where he mentions “making” Swift) and even secretly recording her and telling the world when Swift denied allowing Kanye to talk about her in his lyrics. It truly did make an already obnoxious Kim look even more so by going against Swift.

As we all know, the Kardashian/Jenner clan always sticks together. Kendall Jenner was close with Taylor and even joined Swift on stage during her 1989 tour, but all bets were off when Jenner reportedly got back together with her ex Harry Styles, who also happened to be Taylor’s ex. And then, of course, she supported big sis Kim when she went against the singer.
8 Was NOT A Fan (But Things Might've Changed): Demi Lovato
This Swift hate has always been a little confusing to most people on the outside. Demi Lovato was a former friend of Taylor’s and Selena Gomez's. When the news dropped that music producer Dr. Luke assaulted Kesha, Lovato reportedly got angry at Swift for not coming out against the producer in support of her fellow female artists.
Taylor Swift was seen signing along to Demi Lovato's 2023 VMA's performance though, so this beef might be squashed after all.

A couple of years ago, Swift called out Justin Bieber’s (now ex) manager Scooter Braun in a long letter to which the manager said that he believes Swift heard some misinformation about him. But after she called him out with some pretty damaging things, the music industry chose sides, including Bieber, who has criticized Taylor for her letter. The two are still said to hate each other.

Sure, you may think they were all close and cuddly because they did some cooking together on Instagram, but the truth is Swift and Kelly Osbourne aren’t as chummy as people might think. Osbourne has gone on the record to say that Taylor’s “innocent” act on the stage annoys her to no end. That doesn’t sound too friendship-esque to us.

Apparently, a while back, singer and actress Miley Cyrus threw some shade at Taylor and her gaggle of famous friends, saying that “I’m not trying to be in a squad. None of my friends are famous and not because of any other reason than I just like real people who are living real lives because I’m inspired by them.” Maybe she blames being young and immature for those comments because it seems the two may have buried the hatchet today and seem to fully support one another.

As we know, when Joe Jonas and Taylor broke up, things didn’t go so smoothly. Shortly after Jonas broke things off with the singer, he started seeing model Camilla Belle. Taylor immediately thought that Belle was the reason why Jonas broke up with her, so the two started openly feuding. Belle has been open about disliking the singer, especially on social media.

Not going to go over THIS story again – but Kanye West DID (kind of) apologize for what he did to Taylor back in 2009, but then RETRACTED his apology, saying him ambushing Swift on stage was actually selfless. Later, when it seemed like the hatchet was buried, Kanye came out with the piece “Famous” (which included the Swift lyric) and everything blew up once again.
2 Not A Fan: John Mayer
It’s not always easy to be friends with your exes, and no one knows that better than Taylor Swift. Swift and John Mayer dated for a few months a long time ago, but the age difference at the time was significant. She even wrote the song “Dear John” about him, which angered and humiliated Mayer who said he “didn’t deserve it.”
1 Not A Fan (In The Past): Rihanna
When you’re fighting with someone’s best friend, you also happen to be fighting with them as well – hey, we don’t make the rules, we just follow them. Rihanna, who is BFFs with Katy Perry, feuded with Taylor on her friend’s behalf, even though Taylor has openly fangirled over RiRi. Of course, when Perry and Taylor got over their drama, everything was cool.
