Hollywood's best actors and actresses spend tons of time rehearsing their lines together during months of production. Sure, they are professionals, but sometimes, it's hard to deny natural attraction after hours and hours of working together.
These stars, however, took their on-screen romances to the next level. While some co-star couples, like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, have withstood the test of time, dozens of other on-set couples have failed. Here are ten co-stars who fell in love on set, but didn't last.
10 Megan Fox & Shia LaBeouf
Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox were considered two of the hottest talents in Hollywood when they co-starred in Transformers (2007) and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009). LaBeouf played Sam Witwicky, the franchise's main protagonist, with Fox's character Mikaela Banes by his side.
Their on-screen chemistry was so strong it landed them a Teen Choice Awards nomination for Choice Movie: Liplock. Although Fox admitted, in an interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, she did having feelings for LaBeouf and "loved him," their romance didn't last further than their time on the movie.
9 Lili Reinhart & Cole Sprouse
Lili Reinhart and former Disney star Cole Sprouse met on the set of CW's Riverdale, a teen psychological thriller drama starring Archie comic-book characters. Sprouse plays Jughead Jones, while Reinhart plays the role of Betty Cooper, Jughead's love interest.
Reinhart and Sprouse eventually let their on-screen romance translate into a real life romance, but they announced their split in 2020.
8 Eminem & Brittany Murphy
While Eminem is not exactly a career actor, his big-screen debut 8 Mile was a memorable milestone in his career. He starred as Jimmy 'B-Rabbit' Smith, a working-class blue-collar worker who tries his luck in Detroit's rap battle scene. The late Brittany Murphy was his on-screen love interest, Alex, and she admitted to having a brief love affair with the rapper off set too.
7 Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson
Back in its days, the Twilight saga was a guilty pleasure for many. Its stars, Kristen Stewart (Isabella Swan) and Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) were romantically linked amidst the movie's popularity. The two had an on-and-off relationship before finally calling it quits in 2013 after reports of Stewart cheating took over the media.

Miley Cyrus' relationship with Australian actor Liam Hemsworth dated way back to 2009 where they met on the set of The Last Song. Cyrus, who has since come out as pansexual, was first engaged to Hemsworth in 2012.
After a series of breakups and makeups, the two finally tied the knot in a private ceremony at their Nashville home in December 2018. Unfortunately, stresses from their busy lives proved to be too much for this couple, as their divorce became finalized in January 2020.

Before Eva Mendes, it was Sandra Bullock who filled Ryan Gosling's heart. In 2002, the two shared the stage for Murder by Numbers, a psychological thriller hit. The pair started dating in 2002 but called it quits in 2003. Now, Gosling is a proud father of two from his relationship with another co-star Eva Mendes, and Bullock calls photographer, Bryan Randall her partner-in-crime.

Many accused Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield of dating as a publicity stunt to promote their movie The Amazing Spiderman (2010). However, the pair went on to date for another five years before reportedly splitting up for good, according to Vanity Fair. An insider shared that the two were still close after the break up and remained on good terms.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt starred in the 2005 thriller movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith. While the critics' reception of the movie wasn't so wholesome and welcoming, the two stars developed a serious and intimate relationship. Disney cast both then-teen Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens for its High School Musical trilogy back in the 2000s. For five years, Efron and Hudgens remained a romantic item until ending things 2010.
"There's no drama. No one cheated. They just grew up," an insider told US Magazine. Eventually, Disney's former "It" couple fell out of contact with each other and don't communicate at all anymore.
