Movie sets can definitely be fertile ground for love. No matter how professional Hollywood A-list stars can try to be, the heart wants what the heart wants. Just like the rest of us, when you spend a considerable amount of time working very closely with your coworkers, rehearsing lines in the case of actors, affectionate feelings are inevitable.

However, there's something about comedic movies that no other genre has. Unlike thriller and horror movies, comedies are meant for laughter, joy, entertainment, and delight. Here are some of the most notable Hollywood stars who fell in love on the set of a comedy.

10 Samira Wiley & Lauren Morelli

Known for her titular portrayal of Poussey Washington in comedy-drama Orange Is the New Black, Samira Wiley found her one true love during the filming of the show. In 2016, the actress became engaged to Lauren Morelli, one of the show's writers, and the two tied the knot a year later in Palm Springs, California.

9 Will Smith & Jada Pinkett Smith

Will Smith met Jada Pinkett during the audition process of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Jada was auditioning to play Will's season 5 girlfriend, Beulah "Lisa" Wilkes.

Unfortunately, Jada did not get the role because producers deemed her "too short" for the part next to Will and thought they lacked chemistry. However, chemistry didn't seem to be the problem, since the two began dating shortly after meeting and were married within a few years.

8 Johnny Galecki & Kaley Cuoco

Kaley Cuoco rose to even higher fame after landing the main female part in The Big Bang Theory on NBC, which nailed several award nominations. During the show, Cuoco also met Johnny Galecki, who she then started privately dating for two years. Since then, though, the two ended their relationship but remain good friends.

7 Penélope Cruz & Javier Bardem

Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem met on the set of Spanish comedy-drama Jamón Jamón. Furthermore, the two continued to co-star alongside each other in several other movies: Vicky Cristina Barcelona, The Counselor, and Everybody Knows. Two years after dating, the power couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in the Bahamas.

6 Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens

Former Disney stars, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens became lovebirds during their High School Musical days. The then-most bankable teen actor and actress had reportedly become "romantic items" from 2005 and broke up in 2010. It's unfortunate because they were thought to be like the Britney and Justin of the time. But alas, the two have completely moved on and no longer speak with each other.

"No, that's not a thing that happens. I completely lost contact with him," the actress confirmed to Access Hollywood.

5 Blake Lively & Penn Badgley

Before Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively fell in love with her Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley. The two were together for over three years before calling it quits in 2010. The two have moved on since then: Lively met Ryan Reynolds in 2010 on the set of Green Lantern, while Badgley married singer, Domino Kirke in 2017.

4 Jennifer Aniston & Vince Vaughn

It was the romantic comedy-drama The Break-Up that brought Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn together. Ironically, the movie's title is what portrayed their love life a year later, as the couple announced their split in November 2006, several months after the movie was released. A nasty coincidence, indeed.

3 Megan Fox & Brian Austin Green

Long before landing her breakout role in the Transformer series, young and up-and-coming actress Megan Fox (then-18) met Brian Austin Green (then-30) on the set of the ABC sitcom Hope & Faith. The massive age gap between them did not stop them from pursuing each other and becoming a romantic item years later. Unfortunately, their relationship wasn't the smoothest ride, as Fox and Green announced their divorce in 2020.

"I don't get my sense of self-worth from work. I don't get it from being on set. I don't get it from those people," Green told Us Weekly. "I get it when I got home and I see my wife (Fox) and I see my kids."

2 Angelina Jolie & Billy Bob Thornton

In 1999, Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton met on the set of comedy-drama Pushing Tin, along with John Cusack, Cate Blanchett, and Jake Weber. Interestingly, the two were committed to other people when they first met; Jolie was reportedly dating Timothy Hutton, while Thornton was still engaged to Laura Dern. Jolie and Thornton were married in 2000, but their wild relationship only lasted five years.

1 Freida Pinto & Dev Patel

Dev Patel and Freida Pinto took their acting careers and love life to new heights when they starred in the Indian-British comedy-drama Slumdog Millionaire. The two dated from 2009 and separated after roughly six years of dating in December 2014, as US Magazine reported. The actor still speaks highly of her and called her a "soul mate" on many occasions.
