The Voice stands out from other singing competitions in that it doesn't judge contestants based on them being the "full package." The singing show takes physical judgment away from the contestants and focuses solely on their singing abilities. Contestants have a one-in-a-lifetime chance to wow the judges without the judges seeing their appearance. If a judge loves what they're hearing, they press a button, and their chair turns around to see who is behind "the voice," and the contestants must pick who they want to coach them.
