TLC is home to wild reality shows that have roped in huge audiences. These shows all bring something unique to the table, and right now, it's clear that 1000-Lb Sisters is one of the networks most popular shows.

Starring the Slaton sisters, the show has been making strides since its debut in 2020. It's featured everything from relationship drama, to legitimate health scares, and even some incredible transformations. This has all happened in its first three seasons, leading some to believe that wilder things are in store.

Fans have grown impatient while waiting for a new season, and they want to know if a fourth season is, in fact, taking place. Let's take a look and see what's going on with the show.

Two years ago, the Slaton sisters made their TLC debut on 1000-Lb Sisters. It took no time at all for the sisters to become by viral sensations, and these viral clips were instrumental in the show becoming a must-watch for fans of reality TV.

Initially, the show saw Tammy and Amy on a weight-loss journey with the hopes of getting bariatric surgery to speed along the process. Amy would eventually reach the initial goal set for her and go through with the surgery. Tammy, meanwhile, was left behind.

Since then, things have only gotten wilder. Amy has brought a child into the world, Tammy's weight has fluctuated severely, and there has also been relationship drama, both within the family, and with love interests.

The first two seasons of the show did a great job of bringing people into the Slaton sisters' lives, giving fans an all-access pass into their journey towards a healthier lifestyle.

After two successful seasons on the small screen, the show made a huge return for a third season, which promised to be even better than its predecessors.

Season Three Was Wild

Starting late last year, fans were treated to the third and the most recent season of 1000-Lb Sisters. It picked up a while from where season two left off, and things got intense as the season progressed.

During the season, fans had to sit by and watch as Tammy's health deteriorated to a breaking point. They also saw a fracture in the sisters' relationship, as Amy and her family unit secured a new place to live.

There were other notable moments, some of which included other siblings. Chris, notably, lost a ton of weight during the season, as he is on the road to a healthier lifestyle, as well.

By season's end, Tammy was back in rehab, Chris was still losing weight, and Amy was pregnant with her second child, which she has since had.

A lot has gone on since season three ended, and fans are still waiting and wondering about a fourth season coming down the pipe at some point.

Will There Be A Season 4?

So, will there be a fourth season of the show hitting TLC in the future? Unfortunately, nothing has been confirmed at the time of this writing.

"TLC has yet to announce a date or confirm if the Slaton sisters will be returning for more episodes. Amy did speak out about possibly taking a break from filming in February 2022, noting that she was not contractually obligated for a fourth season and was still waiting on word back from the network," InTouch writes.

In an interview, Amy noted that having a growing boy has impacted her willingness to continue on with the show.

"I've been on the show for three years. At first, it was easy but now that I have Gage it's like, he doesn't want me out of his sight. I feel like I'm being a bad mom when I'm at work. He's always at granny's when we're filming and stuff. I feel like I'm losing valuable time. I don't really want to do another season because I'm pregnant, it's just a lot," she said.

She, did, however, offer up a way that she would return to the show.

"If they cut down my hours I'll be probably fine. But last season I was working every day for weeks, plus renovating a house, plus Gage, plus Tammy, plus my mom. It was just a lot last year and I can't do it. I can't discuss how much I get paid, but that's my main job and posting videos on YouTube," she continued.
