Jamie Lynn Spears is primarily known for being on the hit Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101. She starred as the main character, Zoey Brooks. Zoey became one of the first girls admitted to Pacific Coast Academy (PCA), a previously 'all-boys' boarding school. Many fans are still upset over her character leaving the show before its final season. How can a show be called Zoey 101 without Zoey? The show was not the same without her.

14 She Left Zoey 101 When Her Contract Ended
Many people believe she left the show because she got pregnant but this is false. Her contract on the show ended around the same time she became pregnant. Instead of extending her contract, keeping Zoey on the show for another season or two, she decided to leave. If she didn’t get pregnant, she might have chosen not to extend her contract anyway, to pursue other projects.
13 She's A Country Singer
While her sister is a star in the pop genre, Jamie prefers country music. She released her first country EP called, “The Journey”, in 2014. Two years later, she released a single called “Sleepover”. For the past few years, she’s been focusing on acting and her personal life but (hopefully) another album is in the works.

In 2018, Jamie and her daughter, Maddie, appeared together in a Kraft ad campaign. Jamie shared her new sponsorship on Instagram. In the Instagram post, she explained why she loves Kraft mac and cheese frozen meals. Personally, we have never tried them, but if we had children, we might feed them this easy, cheesy meal.

Jamie Lynn is getting back into acting. She stars in a new Netflix show called Sweet Magnolias. It’s a romance drama based on the book series by Sherryl Woods. The show follows three friends from high school as they go through romance, career, and family changes. Jamie plays a character named Noreen Fitzgibbons. Noreen is a nurse who wants to build a new life.
10 She Voiced A Character In Unstable Fables: Goldilocks And The 3 Bears Show
Yes, based on the title of this film, it’s very clear that it went straight to DVD! We had never heard of its existence until we started researching Jamie.
Jamie voiced the character, Goldilocks, in the film. Hopefully, Jamie’s two daughters like this children’s film, because we are going to have to pass on watching it.
9 She's Friends With Emma Roberts
Jamie is good friends with Emma Roberts. The two of them have backgrounds that most people could not understand. Both of these actresses grew up on Nickelodeon sets and have famous family members that they are constantly compared to. While their careers took different turns, hopefully, these two are still close.
8 She's Performed At The Radio Disney Music Awards
Jamie performed (and presented an award) at the Radio Disney Music Awards in 2017. She sang “Till the World Ends” during the Britney Spears medley. She surprised everyone, including her sister. Britney received the biggest award of the night - the Icon Award. Of course, Jamie couldn’t miss this important event. She was there for her sister.

6 She's Performed At The Grand Ole Opry
On March 15, 2016, Jamie Lynn was given a prestigious honor. She was invited to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. Country music fans know that this is a huge honor, as only the best are invited to perform at this theatre. Jamie was introduced by her two older siblings, Britney and Bryan, who showed up at the event to surprise her.
5 She Was Condemned For Her Teen Pregnancy
Fans were shocked when 16-year-old Jamie announced she was pregnant with her first child. This went against the squeaky-clean persona of her character, Zoey. Being a pregnant teen was the polar opposite of being a wholesome Nickelodeon star.
Some excused her of “glamorizing” teen pregnancy. The press hounded the teen mom wherever she went. She even had to press charges against one member of the press, who was stalking her.
4 She Was A Cheerleader
When Jamie was younger, she had zero interest in cheerleading, mainly due to the stereotypes. Once she got into gymnastics, she saw how wrong she was. As she fell in love with the sport, she realized that cheerleading was another way to use her gymnastics training.
3 She Sang The Zoey 101 Theme Song
At Nickelodeon, the lead actress or actor typically sings his or her own theme song. The Zoey 101 theme song, “Follow Me”, was extra-special to Jamie Lynn, because her sister, Britney, wrote it.
Jamie might not have felt like her songwriting was the strongest at that age. It would be interesting to imagine how different the theme song would’ve been if Jamie had written it.
2 She's Back On Nickelodeon With Her Daughter
In 2018, Jamie and her daughter, Maddie, appeared as contestants on the revived version of Double Dare, for a special episode. The mother-daughter team played against Josh Server, an All That alum, and his niece.
The Spears family ended up winning $15,000, which they donated to a New Orleans hospital.
1 She Was A Part Of The Mini Zoey 101 Reunion
Reboots are popular and we won't be too surprised if Zoey 101 gets the reboot treatment. While news of a reboot hasn't come just yet, Jamie and the rest of the cast did do a mini-reunion, during an episode of the All That reboot.
Unfortunately, Jamie had to go shoot her new show and missed out on appearing in the cast photo that was posted on Instagram.
