Hollywood just seems so glamorous: like another world that does not exist in our reality. That means that sometimes it's really hard to identify with or relate to those people who live in that world. But with the rise of the Internet, including social media, we can now connect with those people in ways that we have never been able to in the past. So now we can look at a celebrity's Twitter or Facebook and see that they're really just a lot like us.
But sometimes celebrities are also really funny and they post funny things to their social media accounts.
We searched for some of the funniest celebrity photos we could find on social media to share with you. So sit back and laugh and remember that celebrities really are people, too.
15 Chrissy Teigen is all of us
Chrissy Teigen is a supermodel. And as such, you might think that means that her Instagram is full of glamorous photos of her in the latest fashion posing for photographers and looking beautiful. But Teigen defies the supermodel definition by being hilarious and by not being afraid to post unflattering photos of herself on social media. And because of this, we love her all that much more. Here, she demonstrates something that almost every woman in the world can identify with: she's having a rough time with her hair. But, of course, she also notes that she is about to try and sell us a product that will cure us of this particular woe (having voluminous hair without it becoming stiff and crunchy). But whatever she's selling, we're buying.
14 Jessica Simpson sympathizes with Whole Foods
Maybe the younger generation won't remember, but once upon a time, Jessica Simpson had her own TV show. That reality show made her even more famous than she already was as a singer. One particular episode, though, became famous because Jessica was trying to figure out a question that seemed dumb at first, but then maybe it wasn't so dumb. "I know it's tuna, but it says chicken," she remarks on the series as she reads the label for Starkist (which has a slogan that says "chicken of the sea").
She seemed completely dumbfounded by that and the world made fun of her for it.
But Jessica decided to poke fun at herself later on by posting the news article about Whole Foods finding chicken in its tuna salad. "It happens to the best of us," she wrote in the comment.
13 Kanye West photobomb
Think what you will of Kanye West and what many feel is an oversized ego, but the man is funny (although a lot of the times, we don't think it's an intentional humor). And we love him on social media for it. So when someone is taking a selfie in the women's bathroom, Kanye just decides that he's going to stand there and get in on the photo, too. But of course, now we have many many questions, such as "Why was Kanye in the women's bathroom?" Really. What is he doing there? Interestingly enough, many of the comments on this photo asked just that. Also, it's kind of creepy.
12 Harry Potter or Cara Delevingne?
Cara Delevingne is another drop dead beautiful supermodel turned actress (she was incredible as Enchantress in Suicide Squad, wasn't she?) who has a sense of humor.
But she likes to post self-deprecating photos on Instagram with funny captions, just like the rest of us.
And that's one reason to love her (and follow her on the site). In this photo, she posted a funny photo with Harry Potter glasses, added via what looks like a Snapchat filter. And then she makes a funny comment about it: "When you have to offed Voldemort at 5, then shoot the cover of Vogue at 6." It's hilarious, but we're also a little jealous at how good she looks with those fake glasses: she actually makes them look better.
11 Hillary Duff's baby
Hillary Duff might once have been the teen musical star of our dreams (and we all wanted to be her, didn't we?), but now she's a full-fledged adult, all grown-up and moving on with her career. How is that even possible? When she sported a baby bump recently, she kept teasing her followers and fans with life as a pregnant woman. And sometimes her posts on Instagram were a little silly. Take this one, where she says she had the baby while holding a teddy bear wrapped in a towel. It's pretty funny and amusing, especially as she wasn't really pregnant, but had the baby bump for a movie that she is currently working on. Meanwhile, though, she is offering support to her sister, Haylie, who really is pregnant.
10 Someone owes Ludacris some money
One might not think that rapper Ludacris is someone they should follow on social media, but they are wrong in thinking that. Ludacris is one of the top celebrities we would recommend to follow.
He's actually a really interesting guy, but even better? He's also really funny.
And sometimes he posts things like this: where he is with Ronald McDonald and he has to make up a caption that makes the scene a lot funnier than it probably really was. So in this scenario, Ronald McDonald owes Ludacris some money and for some reason, that makes us laugh out loud. The truth is that Ludacris performed at the All American Games, which McDonald's sponsored. Even Ronald got in on the rapping act during that event.
9 Ryan Reynolds researching schools
One of the best couples to follow on the Internet right now are Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. We love how accessible they make themselves seem, showing images and videos from their life that make them just one of us, although they are a big Hollywood power couple. But they're also funny people, and parents, which means that a lot of what they post on social media is about things that their kids do and their responses to those things. Here, Ryan posted a photo of himself shot in the forehead with a rubber-ended arrow. And his response is that he just started researching boarding schools. We know he isn't, but it's still funny all the same. We wouldn't expect any less from Deadpool, would we?
8 Anna Kendrick and baby appetizers
There is one singular person and celebrity on social media that we probably love the most because she is funny and relatable and the star of one of our all-time favorite movie franchises, Pitch Perfect. That celebrity is Anna Kendrick, who has proved time and again that she is actually quite hysterical and has a sick, twisted, dark and wonderful sense of humor.
If you follow her on Instagram, you'll see a lot of comedy gems like this.
She posted a random photo of a wood stamp she saw at a store (we're going to guess Hobby Lobby: that looks like something one might find there). And then she made a funny random comment about it that still has us laughing. It's definitely twisted, but we love it.
7 Happy Easter from Robert Downey Jr.
If you want to see some seriously silly photos, memes and cat-related images, then you have to follow actor Robert Downey Jr. on Instagram. He always posts some wonderfully funny and silly things, and that makes him another favorite celebrity to follow on social media. So instead of posting a generic Happy Easter picture, he turned himself into a meme. But in the meme, he dressed up as the Easter Bunny (we really would love the story behind that) and then posted about the weird situation this year where Easter fell on April Fool's Day (and that was strange, wasn't it?). But this self-created meme will definitely outlast 2018 and probably become something that Iron Man fans will continue to laugh at for years to come.
6 The Rock or The Hulk?
Another incredibly funny guy on Instagram to follow is The Rock. He might seem a little intimidating, what with all those muscles and his history as a professional wrestler, but he has a sense of humor that is often silly and always makes us laugh. He's proven himself as a funny guy in a lot of the movies that he does, and he often shows that he can self-deprecate like the best of us.
He also usually posts a photo of his Halloween costumes, which also end up with funny captions.
This one is great: he's dressed up as the Hulk from the 1970s television series, complete with ripped jeans. But he complains that his haircut wasn't right, but with his particular brand of humor.
5 Jack Black and the land sharks
Jack Black is funny. We already knew this: we've seen many of his movies and his skits. That's just a part of who he is. So, of course, his Instagram is also funny. If you're not following him, we highly recommend it. This photo is just one reason why you will want to do just that. We're not entirely sure why he and Eli Roth are wearing matching shark hoodies, but we don't care, because it's funny. And we also love that Jack decided to post it on his Instagram for everyone to see. Land sharks, yes. But we do feel he missed the opportunity to point out that they are, in fact, Left Shark and Right Shark. Now, if only there were video of the two dancing to Katy Perry songs ...
4 Conan O'Brien discovers Snapchat filters
Snapchat is generally a site for kids, but a lot of adults get a kick out of it because they have a lot of filters. We've seen tons of photos of our Instagram friends with flowers in their hair, big smiley faces on their mouths, puppy ears, kitty noses and all kinds of other crazy stickers that they attached to their digital photos over on Snapchat.
But celebrities like doing such silly things, too, and, apparently, have time for it.
Conan O'Brien recently got in on the Snapchat filter craze and posted a photo on Instagram with flowers in his hair. And it's hilarious because it really does point out just how silly those filters are, as well as how silly we all look using those filters.
3 Katy Perry vs. the ball
Pop star Katy Perry already has a violent history with balls. In fact, she recently accidentally kicked a beach ball into a fan's face during a performance in Salt Lake City. So maybe this Instagram post (which happened before that) is ironic in some way. But Katy has always been silly and funny on social media, which makes her another celebrity we love to follow on Instagram. This photo is an example of that humor, that basically shows Katy taking a basketball directly to the face: ouch. We wonder if her recent feud with Taylor Swift had Taylor laughing even harder at this than we did, but whatever the case, it's funny and that's why it made this list. Swish Swish, indeed, Katy. Well played.
2 Hold my cape
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are not the only celebrity power couple that we love to follow on Instagram. We also love seeing what Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are up to on their separate Instagram accounts. They often post little vignettes of their life, including ones like this where they're getting ready for the parties that happen after Hollywood's biggest night of the year, the Oscars.
So after the awards, Jessica, who is pregnant, needs to eat, but she also needs not to get anything on her fabulous cape.
So she makes her husband, Justin, hold it while she stuffs her face full of food. We love this photo because it's a nice snapshot into the lives of these stars and shows that they're a lot like us.
1 Amy Schumer popping out of a cake
Comedienne Amy Schumer doesn't need a funny Instagram because we already know that she's absolutely hilarious. Fortunately, Amy has blessed us with a social media presence anyway, so that we can get a laugh even when we're not watching her stand-up comedy videos or movies. Sure, this photo is a result of some creative Photoshopping, but it's still a hilarious depiction of Amy popping out of a cake naked and surprising everyone.
And because of that, we love it!
Yes, it's her head on someone else's body, but Schumer posted it to give her fans a good laugh. And it worked, right? Because we are definitely laughing. If you're not already following her on Instagram, you are totally missing out. Trust us on this one.
