Time stood still in 2006 when dance lovers saw Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan portray Tyler and Nora in Step Up. Between the music and their dance moves, viewers practically watched Channing and Jenna fall in love on screen. Three years after meeting on set, these two love birds decided to make it official and got married in 2009. The dancers quickly became Hollywood's most beautiful celebrity couple.
Sadly, like most Hollywood couples, these two didn't last. After nine years of marriage, they decided to call it quits. The two did announce they would be making their friendship work so they could be the best parents possible for their only child, Everly. However, their fans were upset.
Years later, they both found love again. Channing is with singer Jessie J. and Jenna just announced she's having a baby with her new love, Steve Kazee. Here's a walk down memory lane (and into Jenna's future) with both baby daddies.
20 They Met While Filming Step Up
Step Up released in 2006 and made Channing and Jenna instant stars. At the time, there weren't as many dancing movies as there is now, which is why the film did so well in the box office (bringing $114 million). Although these two broke up, they do have an adorable baby girl out of it, so we have this epic dance movie to thank for their relationship.
19 And They Took It Slow At First
According to Elle, Channing wasn't looking for a relationship when he met Jenna and started filming Step Up. “I had just gotten out of a pretty long relationship, so I was in no way ready for another. I was trying to run from what I knew Jenna was — not someone I was just going to date.” As we know, though, he couldn't fight his feelings for her and decided to go all-in.
18 The Exes Are Both From The South
While the US is one big country, families in the South tend to raise their children with southern traditions. Funny enough, Jenna and Channing are both from the south; Jenna's home state is Texas and Channing's is Alabama. Although these two didn't last as a couple, it seems like their parenting style for their daughter would reflect a Southern upbringing.
17 Jenna's A Plant-Based Eater
Considering both Jenna and Channing are in the spotlight and work in entertainment, they always look their best (even if they don't think it). When it comes to eating right, Jenna is a vegan while Channing is anything but. Their differences in meals actually caused them to clash sometimes, but according to Jenna, "you've gotta let people be themselves."
16 Channing Almost Bought Her Ring Online
After dating for a few years, Channing knew Jenna was the woman he wanted to be with. According to Women's Health, while filming G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra, Channing began scrolling online for engagement rings for his beloved. But for a celebrity, he could easily go to one of his famous jeweler friends for help, which is why co-star, Sienna Miller, stopped him in his tracks and told him to call Neil Lane.
15 They Got Married In Malibu
Ten years ago, Jenna and Channing became one after getting married in Malibu, California. According to Pop Sugar, their wedding was outdoors in a whimsical celebration. There were plenty of appearances from celebrity fans — Hilary's Duff's sister, Haylie, was even a bridesmaid! Something tells us their dance floor was probably on fire!
14 They Were Hollywood's Greatest Couple For 10+ Years
It's not every day Hollywood couples last longer than three years, so once Channing and Jenna past the three-year and five-year mark, fans were pretty optimistic about their relationship — especially after having a baby in 2013. Sadly, after 13 years together and nine years of marriage, they separated.
13 Jenna Found Out She Was Pregnant While Filming
Four years after getting married, Jenna gave birth to their adorable baby girl, Everly, in 2013. So when did the actress find out she was pregnant? When filming the pilot for Witches of East End! Since she was pregnant from the start of the show, she gave birth to her baby girl and continued to work while breastfeeding in between takes.
12 Baby Everly Is Their Only Child Together
Channing and Jenna are so stunning, their fans would have loved to see more children from them. However, sometimes good things come in small packages because Everly is so adorable, there wasn't a need for more during their marriage. As we now know, now that Jeanna is with someone new, Jenna's gorgeous genes are multiplying.
11 And Channing Is A Doting Father
There's nothing that fans love more than seeing a gorgeous celebrity dad being an amazing father. They're great role models for other men out there who tend to sneak away from their parenting duties. There's no word yet on how Channing will act around his daughter's new half-sister but seeing how much Channing loves his own child, I'm sure he'll have the same love for his child's sibling.
10 Channing Loved Jenna For Her Inner Beauty
There's no question that Jenna Dewan is drop-dead gorgeous but Channing loved his ex-wife for more than her good looks. While doing promotions for Step Up back in 2006, he had this to say about his co-star (and off-screen girlfriend). "Jenna's very, she's obviously beautiful, but she really, really is as beautiful inside as she is out."
9 They Were Disney's Favorite Visitors
Disney World (and Disney Land) gets millions of visitors each year. And just because Jenna and Channing are celebrities doesn't mean they don't want to explore Disney as much as us normal folk. This small family went on plenty of outings to Disney and Jenna looked so adorable with her Mini Mouse ears on.
8 They Loved Their Pets!
There are plenty of paparazzi photos of Channing and Jenna walking their dogs. Jenna looked as cute as ever walking her dog with her baby bump, too. Sadly, in 2018 the couple announced their pit bull Catahoula mix, Lulu, past away around the time of their divorce. Each of them posted a heartfelt tribute to Lulu on their social media pages.
7 They Filed For Divorce Back In 2018
The world stopped when Jenna and Channing announced they were separating. After nine years of marriage, the couple said, "We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple." The former couple seemed ready for a new chapter and were dedicated to raising Everly in the healthiest way possible without the drama.
6 But What Drove The Couple Apart?
Unlike many other Hollywood divorces and separations, there was nothing overly dramatic in their breakup. There were no other parties getting involved or a mysterious life being lived. Instead, they just realized they were better friends. As their joint statement read, "There are no [mysteries] nor salacious events at the root of our decision - just two best-friends realizing it's time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives possible."
5 Jenna Felt Drawn To Steve
It's not known how Jenna and Steve met or how they started dating but Steve implies it was love at first sight. After Jenna tweeted asking her fans if they believe in love at first sight (or at first dance), Steve replied to his lady saying, "I believe they can," implying he too fell in love with Jenna after first meeting her.
4 And He Gets Along Great With Everly
News outlets have stated that Jenna and Steve began dating five months after Jenna filed for divorce. Now that they've been dating for over a year and are expecting a child together, Steve has met Jenna's daughter and appears to be taken by her. The happy new family has been seen running errands and going on walks together, with Steve being very hands-on.
3 This Is Steve's First Child
Jenna may be a professional mom at this point but their new unborn child will be Steve's first! "We are beyond overjoyed and couldn’t be happier to be expanding our family!" the couple told People. Steve also wrote a very touching post directed at Jenna and how she's giving him his greatest gift in a child with her.
2 Everly Is Excited To Be A Big Sister
Now that mom is pregnant, how did Everly take the news? According to Romper, Everly is beyond excited. As Jenna told People, "[Everly] said she’s waited her whole life for a sibling. 'I’ve waited my whole life for this, Mom." Everly will be six-seven years older than her new sibling and we know she'll make the best of it!
1 Steve Has Also Waited His Whole Life For This Moment
Being Steve's first child—and their first child together—Steve is equally as excited as Everly! "I have waited my entire life for this moment and couldn’t have found a better person to build a family with," he shared with his fans. There's no word if a wedding is in the works but something tells us these two are in it for the long haul!
