This one is simply not true! What happened was that after a bit of filming, the production people took him aside and said he should lighten up, Edward Cullen was just too depressed and depressing. He balked a bit and then thought about it. He lightened up and the rest is history.

In 2017 and 2018 gossip sites persisted with the story that Emma Watson and Robert Pattinson were a couple and that they were constantly texting and that they talked every night. "Sources" (whoever they are) denied the story. So what is the truth? The best we can do on this one is maybe, but probably not. Pity.
13 He's Gay
One site hinted that Pattinson's split from FWA Twigs was because he came out. We admit that some of Pattinson's early modeling shots are a bit something. Then in 2009, he made Little Ashes, a film about surrealist painter Salvidor Dali's affair with poet Fredrico Garcia Lorca. Is Pattinson really gay? No way big time.

"Friend" is perhaps stretching it a tad. The two made 2010's lackluster film Remember Me together. And one or two sites claimed that his "friend" Meghan had made certain he got an invitation to her wedding. It's a boring story and not true. Why didn't someone come up with the two getting cozy? Caught snogging? Some of the variations on the theme claim Perry was ready to marry Pattinson. Sure, the two are friends. In 2019's The Lighthouse there is a scene in a shed in which Robert, how do we put this, "pleasures himself". Of course, it was faked. But he has talked about it so much, people got the impression he enjoyed it and all the up close and personal scenes with Kristen Stewart. Not true. Like most actors, pretending to be intimate can be more than a little awkward.

In 2013 Pattinson was picked as the face of Dior Homme fragrance. At a Paris launch, he and supermodel Bella Hadid were pictured together. So, the rumors started that they were at it or in love or some such. Talk about making up something out of nothing! Totally, utterly, and completely not true.
6 He's Difficult To Work With
He has admitted to having been difficult when he first began acting in films. He felt like a "big shot" and had an "ego".
