15 Satisfying Times Shamers Got Shut Down

Is there anything more satisfying than when nasty people get shut down on the Internet for everyone to see? I definitely love seeing shamers of all types get their butts handed to them in public.

On the Internet, more so than offline, people seem to have an impulse to judge others very harshly. It's easy to type whatever comes to someone's mind and click submit. Things can easily be deleted if someone regrets it later on (though, beware of screenshots!), and they can always be posted anonymously, of course. It's easy to be a troll online, but it's a lot less simple in real life. Online, shamers of all types are numerous and it's oh so wonderful when they get shut the eff down. Here are 15 times people stood up for themselves and shut down some d-bags.

15 Chrissy Teigen Speaks The Truth

Via: Elite Daily

She's at it again! Chrissy Teigen is not about to deny herself the good things in life and that includes pizza. I remember seeing her response to the tweet above, and I just nodded my head in agreement. She just gets it.

We all know Tiegen has a love for pizza (okay, maybe it's the cheese) and in response to the tweet above, Teigen replied with a blunt "Yep." It's what everyone was thinking, especially me. And you know what? We all need a little bit of fat in our diet. We need to incorporate the three macronutrients. It's okay if you decide that all your daily fat is going to come from a delicious hot slice of pizza. Maybe don't make it a habit, but once in a while, go for it!

If someone told me I could never have pizza again, I'd want to throttle them. Pizza is good. Pizza is wonderful. It brings pizza...I mean people together. I'm drooling just looking at that picture. BRING ON THE SPOONS OF OIL.

14 Lily Reinhart Effing Loves Tacos #Sorrynotsorry

Why do celebs constantly have to defend their desire to eat certain kinds of foods? For that matter, why the eff do I need to defend my eating choices to other people? Depriving yourself of what you love is not the answer. And you definitely shouldn't stop eating something just because someone else gave you crap for putting it in your mouth. Unless you're eating dirt, that is... Then maybe stop. All Lily Reinhart wants to eat, though, is tacos. One Twitter user decided to tell her: "I just don't want your talent to be overshadowed by your weight." I'm sorry, WHAT? What does that even mean? Why does weight have anything to do with talent and why is it any of their business? Reinhart sassily replied with: "I'll respond later after I finish my double cheeseburger." Ha! you go girl.

13 Kate Beckinsale And The Mommy Shamers

Doesn't Kate Beckinsale look like she's having a blast? She's out with friends, having a good time, dancing to music, being a person, enjoying life to the fullest. Well, one Instagram commenter thought it was entirely appropriate to shame Beckinsale for enjoying a night out by saying: "Go home and take care of your kids. Hehe!". Except, no dude. Not "hehe." She's a fully grown woman who can do whatever she wants. Also, her kid isn't a toddler anymore.

Beckinsale corrected the commenter by saying: "What's amazing is it is no longer the 18th century so now that my one child is grown I don't have to stay home (while she's out with her own friends) playing the pianoforte, getting consumption, or trying to secure her a marriage." OH SNAP. She goes on to add "Oh, and I can vote now too! YAY."

12 Instagram User Shows The World One Shamer's Stupidity

I know I shouldn't be surprised, but sometimes I really am shocked at the ridiculousness that comes out of some people's mouths. One day, a girl named Cat snapped a picture of her cool new headphones. They were laid out on what looked to be floral print bed sheets, with Cat nowhere to be seen in the photo. Some random person quickly responded with the following: "You wearing those and nothing else, that would be heaven." Yeah totally weird and creepy. No thanks. Miss Cat responded to this ridiculous incident by posting the above to Twitter to show others how an innocent photo can be spun into some sort of sexual conquest. The photo she posted had zero sexual connotations and that was her whole point. She never asked for the kind of message she received. It was in no way an invitation for that kind of attention. Boy bye.

11 Old Lady Blasts Slut Shamer

Via: Bust

I love reading these types of stories. They're just real, raw stories. Especially when they're about old people. Old people stories usually make me cry, but this one made me want to stand up and clap for the woman in the story. The story, posted on Facebook by Scott Sparrow, goes on to describe a scene on the subway. A woman (in a dress that's a bit revealing), a very old woman, and what sounds like a middle aged business man are on a train. The said business man actually had the gall to tell the woman to "[h]ave some self respect." The woman is obviously upset and visibly blushing. The old lady then proceeds to unleash her wrath on the dumba** of a man. She swears at him and tells him to mind his own damn business. The younger woman hugs the older woman and hops off the train. She is a freaking hero and this is my new favorite fairy tale.

10 The Kelly Clarkson Body Shamer Gets Slammed

Via: RollingStone

So, here's the story: some d-bag tweeted a short, succinct, and rude tweet at Kelly Clarkson. They simply said: "You're fat." Clearly it was someone with nothing better to do. Don't they know that the Internet is full of wonders? It's too bad people like that feel the need to sling insults at people. Celebrities are people, too. Of course, Clarkson could have just ignored the poorly crafted insult, but instead, she decided to clap back. She responded by saying "....and still [effing] awesome." Good for her! Her fans, of course, turned out loving her response and praised her for it. They applauded her for defending herself, told off the shamer, and just all around loved what she said. She doesn't care what other people think and I'm totally impressed by that. It's not always easy to let things slide.

9 The Hero Employee At Target

Anybody know this asshole who verbally assaulted me in target this morning while I was breastfeeding my baby? (He's wearing an Avon shirt) Before the video started rolling he looked at me and said (very angrily), "can't you do that somewhere else?... That's fucking disgusting.. You are nasty" (he said a few other things under his breath) I responded with, "I am feeding my baby, and I have the right to do it here...walk the fuck away..leave me the fuck alone" He responded with, (as he's walking closer and closer to me and getting louder) "you are fucking disgusting...you are fucking disgusting...you are fucking disgusting...you whore" he said a bunch more bullshit that I can not remember ....by this point EVERYONE came to my defense! Target staff and shoppers... Then I started rolling the camera....

While we're on the subject of breastfeeding, people really need to stop giving AF about whether a woman breastfeeds in public or not. It's natural. A baby needs to eat and a woman shouldn't have to hide in a dirty washroom just so she can nourish her child. One guy at a Target thought it was totally fine to shame a mother for breastfeeding her child as she sat in the store's cafe. The mother recorded the entire incident which included the man hurling awful insults at her. Thankfully, the woman didn't need to defend herself on her own. Employees at the store had her back. I hope that if any of you ever witness something like this you'll feel just as comfortable stepping in to shut that kind of d-bag down.

8 Airplane Fat Shamer Gets Shamed Back

I used to love flying when I was a kid. It was a special thing that I only did once or twice but it felt magical. Maybe it's because I'm not a tiny human anymore, but the magic has completely faded. Being surrounded by strangers in a tiny cramped cabin is not my idea of wonder. I also find myself thinking about the mechanics of it all and mostly I just feel terrified that it'll all malfunction. Imagine piling a body shaming experience on top of all that. That's what happened to Natalie Hage, a plus sized model who was shamed on an airplane by the a**hat sitting beside her. The dude decided to text a friend to complain about his seat mate. I don't condone peaking at other people's private text messages, but apparently, he might have even shared photos of Hage, which is not at all okay. After the flight, she filmed her confrontation with the man, who eventually apologized (and she got a lot of attention for it).

7 Sarah Hyland Shuts Down Jerks

The above photo of actress Sarah Hyland got a lot of negative feedback. Of course, the first thing most people want to do when they see a picture of someone online is to accuse them of being "too fat" or "too thin." It's a common occurrence. People seem to think they know everything about a person just by staring at one photo. People immediately started commenting on how thin Hyland looked in the picture. Some people felt comfortable enough to post pretty cruel comments about the actress, too. Hyland wasn't going to let that kind of bullying stand, though. She posted a response to all the haters explaining that her weight was really none of anyone's business, hinting that a private medical problem was to blame for her small frame.

6 Rihanna Shuts Down Internet Trolls

A post shared by badgalriri (@badgalriri) on

Let me just start by saying that Rihanna looks freaking gorgeous no matter what size she is. She is a damn beautiful woman. She looks amazing when she's rail thin and she looks fantastic now that she's a little curvier. She's hot AF. It seems like some people can't appreciate that kind of beauty so instead, they become hateful trolls.

One blogger, in particular, for a website called Barstool got totally called out for his comments. He tweeted "Is Rihanna going to make 'being fat' the hot new trend?". What do people think they're going to achieve by hurling insults at celebrities like Rihanna? Do you think she cares? Thankfully, fans of the singer were not on board with the insults and comments about her weight. They were not interested in hearing about her "being fat." And neither was Rihanna. Sometime later she posted the above photo to her Instagram account and all I have to say is YAS QUEEN.

5 Amanda Seyfried Takes On The Mommy Shamers

YASSS GIRL. In this day and age, I can't imagine being a new mom and having to deal with all the judgment. If you're not perfect in every way, you get slammed. Sure, there are some things that should be universal when you're a parent. Don't neglect your child, and also don't kill it. Keep it alive and love it. If you can manage to do that, then who cares if you choose to breastfeed or bottle feed? Why is it anyone's business what one mother decides to choose? Actress Amanda Seyfried sought to say just that in a tweet she posted last month (see above). And she's absolutely right. Keeping your child fed is all that matters. Who cares where that food originates from? A bottle or boob, WHATEVER. Let's start lifting mothers up instead of criticizing and judging.

4 Chrissy Teigen Shaming The Shamers

Via: TheBerry

Chrissy Teigen takes sh*t from no one. She is the queen of giving zero f*cks. She has no time for the shamers and she's not afraid to tell them to sit the eff back down.

Last year, Teigen got some flack after she posted a photo of her and her daughter Luna. In the photograph (you can see it above), Teigen is walking while holding her baby. Honestly, it looks fine to me, but I don't have children and I know less than nothing about raising them. But some people had a problem with how Luna was being held by her mother. One Twitter user replied and said "this is not how a baby is held!!!!" another said "Do not hold a baby like a handbag!" Teigen responded with "really because that's how I'm [expletive] holding her" and "well you hold your handbag like a [expletive] idiot then." HAHAHA. Perfect responses to idiotic judgy tweeters.

3 Pregnant TV Anchor Claps Back

Listen to the voicemail above. I'm sure it'll enrage you as much as it did me. That's some random viewer shaming a pregnant news anchor she saw on TV. This incident happened just last month.

Laura Warren, the beautiful news anchor, was 20 weeks pregnant at the time and positively glowing. She was wearing a form fitting red dress that went all the way down below her knees. She looked adorable and professional, however, that's not how one lady viewed her attire. She actually had the audacity to call in and leave a message complaining about the way Warren was dressed on air. She told her to "cover her pregnant belly," according to Refinery29. WHAT? Um. No. She should flaunt that hot bod, pregnant or not. A pregnancy isn't something that needs to be hidden. That baby bump should be worn loud and proud. She's carrying a miniature human being in there! Meanwhile, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Sitting on your a** complaining about someone else's body. Wow, that's productive. Well, Warren didn't take the commentary sitting down. She went online to talk about it on her blog.

2 Janelle Monáe Stands Up For Women Everywhere

Hey, so, guess what? It's true, having a period really sucks. It can be really awful for some of us. I for one tend to want to eat everything in sight. I get moody (because guess what, I'm bleeding. Wouldn't you be angry?) and I'm usually in some kind of pain. My migraines get worse and make me want to chop my own head off. But there is one thing I am not. I am not ashamed of the fact that I menstruate. I don't hide my tampon when I need to head to the bathroom in a public place. And Janelle Monáe certainly isn't ashamed of it either and she's not here for period shamers.

Earlier this year, she tweeted about the stigma surrounding menstruation and some people were quick to respond in disgust. Monáe did not stop at her original tweet, though, and she continued to make her point finishing with: "respect & celebrate everything that got yo a*s here."

1 Shutting Down Nazis

Ah yes. The ultimate shut down. The shutting down of neo-nazis. This happened not too long ago in the wake of what happened in Charlottesville. The website The Daily Stormer posted an article about Heather Heyer, the woman who was killed while protesting the nationalist rally in Charlottesville. The article mocked Heyer and even went so far as to call her a "fat, childless, 32-year-old slut."As a neo-nazi website, it's not the only horrifying thing the website contained. GoDaddy informed the website they were violating terms of service. Google then moved to shut the website down. The website did eventually resurface, though, and I think companies have a duty to shut down hate speech. I hope this kind of shut down wasn't just for show after a tragic event. I hope the shutdown will eventually be for good to make a statement.
