While it may not be the same for every show, the cast of HBO's hit series, Game of Thrones, was quite a tight-knit group of friends. I mean, when you spend practically 10 years straight with a group of people, you're bound to form some sort of bond. 15 Their Friendship Is Almost 10 Years Strong
It’s crazy to think about how long Game of Thrones was actually running since it first aired...it almost hit the 10-year mark. Since Jason and Emilia instantly hit it off when they met, that makes their friendship 10 years old...which is quite a long relationship!
They’re still going strong and showing no signs of wavering, so it seems they’ve found the friendship of a lifetime.
14 Their First Meeting Was Adorable
It’s no secret that Jason Momoa is a very big guy...and maybe a little intimidating for a petite gal like Emilia Clarke. You’d think meeting him for the first time would be a little scary (especially when he’s the man your character is going to be 'sold' to on the show) but Jason greeted Emilia in the sweetest way.
She described their first interaction, saying “He literally when he first met me he wrestled me to the ground and was like, Hey Wifey!”Adorable.

Even though his size is intimidating, Emilia Clarke found one of the best ways to take advantage of it.

Even though they didn’t really do the move, they still did their best and Emilia uploaded this adorable pic to her Instagram, calling Jason “my man”. Awww.
12 Role Of A Lifetime
Although Jason Momoa’s role on Game of Thrones was short-lived (and apparently not highly-compensated), Jason still remained a superfan of the show for one reason: Emilia Clarke. He could’ve very well remained bitter and shunned the show altogether, but his love for Emilia kept him following along to support his queen. Now, that's a role he'll never forget.
11 They Goofed Around On Set
Aside from this adorable pic they snapped together, Emilia and Jason did some pretty goofy things on set. While Emilia had to get ready for the scene where Khaleesi gets violated by her husband (who was also her owner), which must have been pretty nerve-racking, Jason did the funniest thing to help ease the tension.
Instead of wearing the typical modesty sock (which is used to cover up…personal areas) Jason stepped on set wearing a “fluffy pink polka dot sock with different things” to help Emilia relax. What a guy.
10 He Made Sure She Was Comfortable During...Those Scenes
Since she was a relatively inexperienced actress before filming Game of Thrones, Emilia Clarke was thrown into unfamiliar territory because her role involved sex scenes and nudity. She explained during an interview that, because she had no idea what she was doing, she could’ve ended up severely traumatized after filming those scenes, but she was well taken care of by Jason.
She said "It was definitely hard, which is why the scenes when I got to do them with Jason were wonderful", and that he made sure she was comfortable before going through with anything.
9 He Even Stood Up For Her On The Set
Even though she did many nude scenes throughout her time on Game of Thrones, she wasn’t always comfortable with them. She was able to talk her way out of some of them...and remained clothed!
Jason always had her back during the scenes she couldn't get out of doing. He reassured her that it wasn’t always something she had to be okay with. He even yelled at the crew, so crew members would get her robes to put on between takes.
8 Jason Stanned Khaleesi Until The End
Even though Daenerys lost quite a few fans after she became (SPOILER ALERT) throne-hungry during the last season of Game of Thrones, Jason stood by and supported his onscreen wifey until the very end.
He made his feelings VERY clear during a live stream on Instagram, expressing his anger (to put it mildly) about the fate of her character.
7 He Got Emotional About Emilia's Health Scares
In case you didn’t know, while filming Game of Thrones, Emilia Clarke went through some pretty scary health issues. She had multiple aneurysms in her brain, and one of them caused a stroke and required emergency surgery.
While talking about it, Jason Momoa got pretty emotional, because he almost lost his best friend, "I'm very sad, because we almost lost her the first time. So, I love her to bits and she's here and she's going to do great things with it and teach the world".
6 She Supports Causes He Loves
Don’t worry, Jason isn’t the only one doing the supporting in the relationship.
When protests were heating up to help protect the dormant volcano, Mauna Kea, on Jason’s homeland of Hawaii, Emilia took to Instagram to help show her fictional hubby some support. She had the phrase, “We are Mauna Kea”, written on her hand. Now, that’s a power couple.
5 Jason's Wife Also Shares Their Friendship
Due to their closeness, many people assumed Jason and Emilia were actually a couple in real life. And, even though a small part of us (okay, maybe a big part) wishes Jason and Emilia were a romantic couple, Jason is happily married to Lisa Bonet.
You may think that Lisa may get a little jealous of Jason and Emilia’s relationship, but she actually shares that amazing friendship. Emilia even hijacked Jason’s Facetime with Lisa, during his surprise birthday party, to say hi to her and their kids. Beautiful!
