During their 12 years together, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie raised six children together. While Maddox, born in 2001 and adopted in 2002, and Zahara, adopted and born in 2005, were adopted by Jolie before she got together with Pitt, the two would eventually take Pitt's surname after he adopted them. Then along came Shiloh, born in 2006, Pax, who was born in 2004 and adopted in 2007, and twins, Vivienne and Knox, born in 2008.

Of the children, Shiloh seemed to attract the most attention initially, because she was the firstborn child of Pitt and Jolie. It was clear from the start that Shiloh lived life on her terms and was not going to let societal norms determine what she would look like or how she was going to behave. As such, for several years, Shiloh decided to dress more masculine. A move that both Jolie and Pitt supported, letting Shiloh express herself by whatever means made her comfortable.

It was not until Shiloh hit puberty that she decided to dress more femininely and grow her hair out. A reveal of sorts occurred in 2021 when Shiloh walked the red carpet with Jolie during the Eternals movie promotional tour. Suddenly, the once tomboy Shiloh was no more, and a beautiful young lady emerged.

Updated January 2024: With Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's messy divorce making headlines since 2016, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt and her siblings have been in the press as well. Because of this, Shiloh, who would prefer to remain out of the limelight. She also went viral for the amazing dance moves that no one knew she had. Whether this means that Shiloh is planning for a career in the entertainment industry is not clear. But of the siblings, Shiloh, thus far, appears to be the only one who has any interest in the arts whatsoever.

Shiloh was not bothered by societal norms as she got older and continued to wear gender-neutral clothes and wear a short haircut. It was clear that Shiloh identified more with being a tomboy than Zahara did, but none of Shiloh's brothers or sisters made a fuss of the fact that Shiloh explored who she was by choosing clothes that were more masculine than feminine a majority of the time.

Jolie's parents, John Voight and Marceline Bertrand chose the name "Shiloh Baptist" for their first child, a daughter. Unfortunately, Bertrand miscarried. So the name "Shiloh" has always had a special meaning for Angelina.

Because of this, Pitt and Jolie's firstborn biological daughter was named Shiloh. The name means "his gift".

To get a photo and story, People and Hello! Magazine paid up to $10 million to have exclusive photos of Shiloh. That money was then donated to charity by Pitt and Jolie.

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was not cast to be in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

• Twin babies were not up to playing the role, so Shiloh was a last-minute addition to the production

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was a 2008 movie about a man (Benjamin Button, played in part by Pitt) who ages backwards. The script called for a baby to play Julia Ormond's character, Caroline as a baby. Twins were hired for this role. But, because they were uncomfortable on set, the scene where they were required was not able to be shot.

It happened that Shiloh was on set. Because of this, she replaced the twins and played Caroline as a baby. While she did not receive a credit in the film, it was the first acting role that Shiloh was able to put on her resume. One that has received several other credits over the years.
