15 Things We're Psyched To See in Deadpool 2

Imagine cutting a scene from Deadpool 2 because it was too offensive. That actually happened! Despite this, there's a high chance that the film will still offend some people, while also making others laugh with tears and wow audiences with its zany cinematography.

One of the most anticipated movies of the year, Deadpool 2 has everyone psyched.

Some of our favourite moments that we're forward to is just seeing Ryan Reynolds reprising his role of Deadpool. In the first film, no one quite knew what to expect and were quickly hit with hilarious and direct humor unlike anything we’ve seen before.

That expectation has laid the foundation for the sequel, where we can safely assume it will be like the first one, but on steroids. it'll have Celine Dion, X-Men heroes, and Colossus will be returning! But how they'll work together or how it'll unfold is something we'll have to wait and see.

This film obviously won't be for everyone. But even if you're not a superhero movie fan, the offbeat humor will likely appeal to you. Let’s take a look at just 15 things we’re most psyched to see in Deadpool 2.

15 The unlikely duet between Celine Dion and Deadpool

One of the most unlikely collaborations of all time is happening: Deadpool and Celine Dion are coming together!

Yes, you heard right. In a rather uncanny collaboration, Dion will collaborate with Deadpool to provide the soundtrack to Deadpool 2. If you think about it, she's a complete contrast to the merc with a mouth. Where Deadpool is vulgar and violent, Celine comes across as dignified, composed and graceful.

The music video, which is now available on YouTube for your viewing pleasure, has Deadpool mentioning at the end of the video that Dion is just “too good." He jokingly pleas with Dion to lower her standards to be able to fit in with the film. He asks her to be a “five” instead of an “eleven.”

The director, David Letich, informed reporters of how Ryan Reynolds convinced Dion to be a part of the film. It was not an email, or a message. It wasn't even a phone call in which Reynolds requested this from Dion. In classic Deadpool fashion, Reynolds wrote Dion the sweetest of letters to lure her to be a part of the movie.

Apparently, Dion did not even hesitate to say yes which made the production crew quite excited. So yeah, we're very excited to see her.

14 Revisiting the X Mansion

One of the first photos published for Deadpool 2 was when Ryan Reynolds posted on his Twitter and Instagram account an image of Deadpool in front of the X-Mansion.

The X-Mansion, otherwise known as Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, is the well-known HQ of the X-men. This image got everyone really excited to see how the X-men are going to be featured in the film.

On his Instagram, Reynolds posted the above photo and commented: "Dropped by X-Mansion. Looked closely for Beast's lawn bombs before taking a well deserved nap."  - source for this too please

On his Twitter account he used much stronger language in classic Ryan Reynolds/Deadpool style. In short, it said “Big Surprise, No one’s home” . source of this too

The First Deadpool film only had Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus, but the Deadpool 2 Trailer shows much more X-men involvement, which has all fans excited. In the first Deadpool, there was mention of the other X-men, but we did not get to see them.

The photo of Deadpool in front of the X-Mansion surely has to mean that there will be much more X-men involved, right? At least we hope so for Deadpool's sake. He's going to need a lot of help in order to take down Cable.

13 The Return of Negasonic  Teenager Warhead

A favourite characters from the original Deadpool is Negasonic Teenage Warhead who will be making a return with a romantic twist. In the trailer for Deadpool 2, Warhead (played by Brianna Hildebrand) is clearly seen having a romantic relationship with Yukio (played by Shioli Kutsuna). The purple haired Yukio is a ninja from Japan who quickly becomes more known for being Warhead’s partner rather than for her powers. There’s no doubt that they are officially a couple because Negasonic Teenage Warhead clearly tells Deadpool that they are an item.

In the trailer, it’s given away as well when Deadpool says to them “You guys make a super cute couple.”

Everyone is looking forward to seeing Negasonic Teenage Warhead because of her angsty and straightforward personality as well. Leitch seems to have sidelined Warhead’s character a bit because she would have completed her mentorship under Deadpool, which follows the true comic book storyline. In many ways, Negasonic Teenage Warhead was too grown to be mentored by Deadpool in the first place. Everyone is looking forward, though, to seeing how she teams up with Yukio, Deadpool and other members of X-men in order to fight together in the final scene.

12 Deadpool with a John Wick Twist?

A month after Deadpool director Tim Miller had a falling out with Ryan Reynolds because of different “creative views,” they went out and got the director of John Wick, David Leitch, instead!

It’s a much different match to Celine Dion and Deadpool, but one that actually makes sense if you think about what John Wick is all about. Fans may have been disappointed to see Tim Miller leave. He oversaw the brilliant release of the first Deadpool. There were also calls for Quentin Tarantino to take over Deadpool 2, but it luckily went to David Leitch.

Leitch has a experience with being a stuntman, director, stunt coordinator and also owns his own stunt company. Needless to say he's more than capable when it comes to directing a Deadpool film.

Being the director of John Wick is also impressive. If you think about it, Deadpool is all about fast action, which is similar to how John Wick was shot. It also had a certain rawness to it, and visually stunning stunts that were shot well in order to provide the audience with a sufficient perspective to see what’s going on. This is an absolute ‘must’ for a film like Deadpool 2.

11 The Domino Effect

One of the most anticipated characters in Deadpool 2 that everyone is looking forward to is Domino.

Besides her funky hair, and the tattoo on her eye, her superpower is what everyone is curious about. Probably the first superhero of her type, Domino’s special ability is that she is incredibly lucky.

Domino’s power of luck is not a trick, though. She's just luck. It's as simple as that. Her superpower is that she always has things go her way. She’ll narrowly avoid a car crashing into her, or just merely miss a bullet coming her way. The only caveat is that she needs to be aware of what the danger is.

In one of the trailer clips, a caravan explodes and throws Cable and Domino into the air. As a demonstration of her lucky ability, Domino falls into the arms of a huge blow up bear. Another scene, she crashes into a car perfectly, and when a man aims a firearm at her, he coincidentally had no bullets left. There are just so many questions about this character. How does she activate her power? Will her luck ever run out? How did she become lucky? Was she born with it, or was there some kind of chemical spill involved?Hopefully, we'll get the answers that we're looking for.

10 Is Cable the new Villain?

via cbr.com

For every superhero, there has to be a villain. Deadpool 2, however, seems to be a bit ambiguous, and there are questions as to whether it will be Cable or Jack Kesy. Cable is being played by Josh Brolin, who was also Thanos from Avengers: Infinity war. There has probably never been a more daring display of versatility than that. Being the main villain in two big blockbuster hero movies in one year is pretty amazing. In typical sequel fashion, Cable is much stronger, bigger and a bit more unstoppable that Francis from the first film.

Hence why Deadpool had to assemble a team to help take him down.

Many don’t know this, but one of the reasons fans are looking forward to seeing Cable as the villain is because of his background. Cable is the mutant son of Cyclops and Madline Pryor in X-Men. Besides that, we all probably want to see how Deadpool goes against Cable along with his team. Cable has super strength, can read minds and also has telekinesis – quite clearly a well-equipped villain. Oh, and on top of that, he also has supervision. Fans of the comic book would know that Cable is one of the best villains. Not only is he quite muscular and highly skilled in combat, but he's also a superb marksman. It’ll be interesting to see how Deadpool takes him down or if in fact Cable is not the villain.

9 Deadpool and Vanessa’s romance 2.0

Vanessa and Deadpool showed us their weird version of romance in the first movie, so it’ll be interesting to see how they spice things up in the sequel.

Vanessa, played by Morena Baccarin, seems to want to start a family, but Deadpool does not seem to be living a life that would accommodate for that. His superhero responsibilities seem to be getting in the way of settling down with her and eventually starting a family. A Deadpool kid would be something that no parent would be ready for.

It'll also be interesting to see whether or not Vanessa will unveil her power. For the followers of the comic book series, you’ll know that Vanessa is otherwise known as Copycat. As the name suggests, she has the ability to morph into anything she sees. In other words, she could morph into Cable!

She does, however, have issues maintaining her morphed self for long periods of time. One can see how valuable this would make her if her super powers were used for good. It still remains unclear as to whether or not she’ll actually make use of her superpower. However, we know for sure that playing Deadpool’s love interest is going to be an experience.

8 What will the X-Men be like?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you should now know by now that there will be more X-Men characters in Deadpool 2 which has us all excited! Here’s what we know so far about the X-Men that'll be featured in the upcoming film:

There will be 8 (or more) of them, namely:

- Domino – A mutant with the super power of being really lucky.

- Colossus – The man from Russia is always entertaining, with his super strength, durability and kind heart.

- Surge – As the name suggests, she has the power of being able to absorb electricity and control it as well. This should prove quite useful to defeat Cable.

- Bedlam – Bedlam has the ability to interfere with electrical systems. This means that they can mess with all electrical networks, which includes brain waves!

- Peter – Probably not the most heroic of names, “Peter” is a black ops agent that will feature in Deadpool. He was once the leader of the X-Force, and also has the ability to absorb the rays of the sun.

- Shatterstar – Some might call Shatterstar a manufactured hero. But the first thing you’ll notice about him is the swords that he uses. These blades allows him to send shockwaves.

- Zeitgeist – the ability to emit acidic vomit is probably not the most gracious super power, but it is what Zeitgeist is known for.

It will be interesting to see how they all come together – or possibly fight against each other.

7 The hilarious Ryan Reynolds

One of the most underrated elements from the first Deadpool, is actually the fact that the character is played by Ryan Reynolds.

The perfect script and director could have been chosen, but if it wasn't for Reynolds, Deadpool would probably not have been as big of a hit as it turned out to be. He has a bit of everything. He's funny, quirky and relatable.

For example, during the build up to Deadpool 2, he joked around with Hugh Jackman aka Wolverine as to how he would “throw him over the coals.” This was all in build up to the anticipated X-men presence in the Deadpool sequel.

You'll find another example is if you take a look at Reynolds' Instagram and Twitter account. It seems he adopts his Deadpool personality even in his real life. After the successful launch of Avengers: Infinity War, Reynolds jokingly posted the below photo on his Instagram:

It was a letter from Stark, rejecting his application requesting to join the Avengers.

Another one of his Tweets reads: “with great power comes great irresponsibility”. Now, there may be a genius behind his Twitter and Instagram accounts who does this for him, but I highly doubt it. Even during red carpet events or talk show moments, he's as funny and charming as ever. Which is why we're all looking forward to seeing him again.

6 Colossus VS Juggernaut

One of the reasons to see any movie on the big screen is to see the action scenes. A highly anticipated scene that fans are sure to be psyched about is when Colossus and Juggernaut  go head to head. They form part of Deadpool’s already complex storyline, but their brief appearances in the trailers have fans thinking and coming up with theories of how it'll go down. Juggernaut is likely to appear in Deadpool 2 as one of the villains and battle it out with another heavy hitter like Colossus.

In the trailer, it is suspected that the huge punch that Colossus is throwing is meant for Juggernaut.

It’s a battle that comic book fans would be particularly excited for because of their long history in several editions of the X-men series. The context in which they will battle is not yet clear. Colossus vs. Juggernaut is likely going to be a sub plot to the Deadpool vs. Cable arc. Either way, it'll add more depth to the movie. Juggernaut also previously appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand where he was pretty much unstoppable. It’ll also be interesting to see as whether Juggernaut will go after Deadpool, too. Who's to say?

5 The returning cast of Deadpool

via ign.com

For one thing, we know that the director of the first Deadpool did not return to shoot the sequel.

However, the main cast will be returning to Deadpool 2, which has most fans psyched. There’s nothing worse than having the same characters being played by a different person in a sequel. It's so jarring. Fortunately, Ryan Reynolds will still be his usual crazy self as Deadpool dating Morena Baccarin as Vanessa.

We also get reintroduced to T.J. Miller (aka Weasel) who is Wade Wilson’s best friend in the movie. Everyone’s favourite teenage X-men star, Brianna Hilderbrand, returns to play Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Stefan Kapicic is still going to be Colossus. It gives the film the feeling of a TV series because of the continuation of characters.

You might have also forgotten him, but Karan Soni, Deadpool’s cab driver, will return. Soni was one of the favourite comedic relief characters in the first film. It was hilarious to see how he reacted to the foul-mouthed antihero.

Fans may also be happy to hear that Leslie Uggams will be returning in Deadpool 2. She plays Blind Al whom Deadpool hilariously interacts with. While her appearance will be brief, it is nice to see that she wasn't removed from the cast.

4 A guy called “Peter”

The character many fans are looking forward to is a guy called Peter. Just his name alone is enough to get everyone curious. It’s not in line with all the other crazy superhero names. You might also want to take a look at Peter’s official Twitter account, he is a fascinating guy (@PeterW_1974). Played by Rob Delaney, Peter is one of the X-Forces' non-mutant members. The first interesting fact is that he became a member of Deadpool’s team because he replied to an ad. In the trailer, Deadpool does several interviews with candidates who signed up to be a part of the X-Force Team. Lucky for us, Peter got in.

He comes across as an ordinary guy with some good abilities and odd hobbies.

For one, he is an avid beekeeper. It’s an uncanny interest to discuss in an interview, but he seems to think it is something worth bringing up. He is also a fan of underwater lava (not entirely sure that that means, though). Peter is being used as a brilliant ad campaign by the Deadpool marketing team. He goes in-depth on Twitter to discuss his obsession with this underwater lava as well as his severe dislike for drugs and love of schools of fish. Given his ordinary demeanor and fascinating background story, everyone is looking forward to seeing what Peter can do.

3 Deadpool’s Team

A storyline that is clear so far in Deadpool 2 is that Wade Wilson can’t defeat the villains on his own. Against his better wishes, he assembles a team. Thinking about Deadpool as a leader of a team is already something worth looking forward to. But also how he selects his team and how they work together is something else altogether.

Part of the team is Cable – which to people that don’t follow Deadpool might be confusing. Cable started X-Force, but his intentions may not always be that great. Domino is also part of the group who has a history with Cable when they were part of Six Pack.

In fact, the whole team Wade Wilson puts together is a combination of members from Six Pack and X-Force. Confirmed members are Bedlam, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Domino, Surge, Yoki, Shatterstar, Peter and Deadpool himself. Then there are some members that we are still uncertain of that will be revealed in the movie.

One thing that fans are definitely psyched about is to see how they all work together as a team, or if they can work together at all? There are sure to be fights and confusion between them if Deadpool is the one in charge.

2 Poking fun at Marvel and DC

There has probably never been a more appropriate release date of a film than Deadpool 2 which is being released shortly after Avengers: Infinity War. The first point of interest here is Josh Brolin who played the role of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. Now, he'll be coming back as  Cable in Deadpool 2. Reynolds poked fun at this on his Instagram and Twitter account, where he tweeted #ThanosDemandsYourSilence. This was in reference to asking fans not to tweet or share any spoilers of the new Avengers film.

Reynolds obviously tweeted that knowing the connection between the Avengers and Deadpool in terms of Brolin’s role.

To add to this, Reynolds also took this hashtag over to the Deadpool 2 release. He used the same #ThanosDemandsYourSilence hashtag, but this time asked fans to keep quiet if they already knew the plot of Deadpool 2. He posted a letter on his Instagram account with this request. One thing we know about Deadpool is that he is not afraid to take risks. It won’t surprise me if there are some direct Thanos jokes in this sequel. We're also hoping for a few more jabs at the DC films' expense. It's such low-hanging fruit after all.

1 Deadpool Humor

via maxim.com

If you ask anyone about the first Deadpool, somewhere in their description they would likely use the words “hilarious” or "ridiculous."

Let’s cut to the chase. Everyone is flocking to the big screen to watch Deadpool 2 because we want to know what new jokes he has in store for us. We all love a good laugh, and it’s probably a guarantee that this movie will provide exactly that – even if it is crude or gruesome at times.

A lot of the success of Deadpool has to be attributed to the writers, Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick, who provided a unique twist to film. It’s not often that humor is so direct which is why everyone recommends it as a must watch movie.

Deadpool often plays with the audience, letting everyone know that he is fully aware of his surroundings and who the audience is.

This is what everyone is so psyched about for Deadpool 2. It’s very hard to do a follow up on an already successful movie. Deadpool had the advantage where it could catch everyone by surprise because they had never seen a superhero movie like it. Sure enough, Deadpool 2 is going to be so much harder to impress fans, but should live up to the hype.
