15 Times We Wished Amy Schumer Was Our BFF

You know how everyone says that their best friends are the best? Well, if your best friend is Amy Schumer, then you're probably right. Amy would be the perfect best friend for so many reasons. One reason is her humor, for example. How freaking hilarious is she? Can you imagine having a really crappy day and having Amy as your BFF to cheer you up? All you'd have to do is probably text her the wine glass emoji and she'll know exactly what to do next.

She's not only funny, but she's also brilliant. She's a writer, producer and actress on top of just being able to crack a good joke. She's had her own sketch comedy series, Inside Amy Schumer, on Comedy Central (which has won an Emmy and Writers Guild of America Award) for four years now. That show, along with Trainwreck (the movie she wrote and starred in) are great examples of what Amy's mind is capable of. She's as real as they come and she really doesn't care what you think. She keeps her team close and she works hard. What more can you ask for in a BFF?

15 The time she purposely fell in front of KimYe on a red carpet

We mean, come on. For the record, Amy has said that she loves falling. She said "I think falling is the funniest thing in the world." And yes, she absolutely did fall on purpose (watch her interview above). It takes a lot of guts to WANT to fall. But to want to fall on a red carpet, in front of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West? That's ballsy...very ballsy. Unfortunately, KimYe gave Amy zero attention after her dramatic red carpet moment. And sure, it's a little weird that she likes to fall, but that's what would make Amy a perfect BFF. If you ever wanted to give this whole falling in public thing a try, here's a tip from Amy herself: "You got to let out a really loud grunt."

14 The time she stood up to the haters

Very very honored to be nominated for 2 Grammys and to be considered to play an important and evolving icon. Is it fat shaming if you know you're not fat and have zero shame in your game? I don't think so. I am strong and proud of how I live my life and say what I mean and fight for what I believe in and I have a blast doing it with the people I love. Where's the shame? It's not there. It's an illusion. When I look in the mirror I know who I am. Im a great friend, sister, daughter and girlfriend. I'm a badass comic headlining arenas all over the world and making tv and movies and writing books where I lay it all out there and I'm fearless like you can be. Thanks to everyone for the kind words and support and again my deepest sympathy goes out to the trolls who are in more pain than we will ever understand. I want to thank them for making it so evident that I am a great choice. It's that kind of response that let's you know something's wrong with our culture and we all need to work together to change it. Anyone who has ever been bullied or felt bad about yourself I am out there fighting for you, for us. And I want you to fight for yourself too! We need to laugh at the haters and sympathize with them. They can scream as loud as they want. We can't hear them because we are getting shit done. I am proud to lead by example. "I say if I'm beautiful, I say if I'm strong. You will not determine my story. I will" #thegirlwiththelowerbacktattoo

Hell to the yes. Amy has always been one to stand up for herself and to speak her mind when it comes to what's important to her. When it was reported that she was in talks to be cast as Barbie in an upcoming live-action movie, she was criticized by people who tried to fat shame her. But Amy, being the confident woman she is, gave critics a piece of her mind. She posted a photo of herself in a one-piece bathing suit on the beach, along with her message to the critics. She talked about how she is proud of how she has lived her life, who she is and how she is a great choice for the role. Now this is what you want in a best friend. You want a best friend who is proud of who they are. You want a best friend who can speak up for those who may be too scared to speak up for themselves. You want a best friend who's brave.

13 The time she ate spaghetti and watched TV like this

Something we look for in a best friend is their eating lifestyle. How often do they snack? Are they cool with going out to eat? Will they share food? Amy eating on the couch straight out of the colander shows that she has great BFF potential. It also shows that she's smart enough to save herself from washing another dish. She is capable of staying in, being a couch potato, eating spaghetti noodles and enjoying it. You have to be able to fully be comfortable and be yourself around your best friend. Of course, you want a BFF who can be your wing woman when you two hit up the hottest spots in town, but don't you also want your BFF to be able to do this? It's the little things that count.

12 The time she was eating at the Emmys

Via: giphy.com

When you're hungry, you need to eat. It's that simple. No one should be deprived of that. Just because she was at the Emmys doesn't mean she shouldn't eat. It's not her fault that award shows take hours and offer no food. That fact that she somehow smuggled food or found food inside the award show is kind of impressive actually. She'd be the perfect best friend at award shows because if you're hungry, which let's face it—we all are, always—she'd somehow find food for you. Best friends wouldn't let best friends go hungry. And when Jimmy Kimmel caught her eating, she was honest enough to tell the truth. Please Jimmy, let her do her; we don't want to see a hangry Amy.

11 The time she chugged this gigantic glass of wine like a champ

Via: giphy.com

Is this not one of the best things you've ever seen? When we first saw Amy do this, we knew we were meant to be best friends. That wine glass is literally bigger than her own head. We have so many questions, like how did she even think of this? Is that a full bottle of wine in that glass? And where can we get one? You need a best friend who knows how to relax. Your BFF should help you unwind and help you find peace of mind. Some best friends talk it out, but different strokes for different BFF folks. Amy's commitment to this one giant sip (chug) is pretty impressive, too. It doesn't hurt to have a BFF that can hold her own.

10 The time she went to the extreme to get out of running

Via: theodysseyonline.com

In my perfect world, my best friend would have a book. Good thing Amy has one. In 2016, she released The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo. And in it, she took a trip down memory lane about gym class when she was younger. She wrote: “I faked falling in a dirt pile to get out of running a mile in gym class. I lay in the dirt until someone found me.” Would we have joined Amy in the dirt pile? We don't know, but we do know that we would have loved for our best friend to do that in gym class. Not everyone could be the funny one in school, so we would have enjoyed having our best friend as the class clown. Once again, talk about commitment.

9 The time she rented Jake Gyllenhaal's apartment and ate his old frozen cake while she was drunk

This is probably one of the best stories that Amy shared. She's one lucky girl because she got to rent out Jake Gyllenhaal's apartment. She didn't say how long she stayed, but while Amy and her sister stayed at Jake's place, Amy found an old frozen cake in his freezer. And yes, she ate it. Why? We're not sure. We can't really imagine it was because it looked good. She was drunk when she ate the cake (because, why not?) and then she decided to record herself. Even though the cake honestly did not look like the best cake we've ever seen, we would have still joined Amy in a heartbeat. Jake, hello, please let us know when your place is up for rent next.

8 The time she got really real about eating popcorn

The realness of this woman is unreal. When Amy stopped by to chat with Ellen, she talked about how she typically consumes popcorn. From nibbling on one, to a eating a few, to just completely destroying all of it. Does this happen to anyone else? *Raises hand* Of course! You always start with just a few and of course, you end up finishing it all before your movie even begins. Amy doesn't sugarcoat what she does. She tells people exactly how it is. Is it super ladylike to be eating popcorn like that? Maybe not, but who cares? And the way she was pretending to eat popcorn...too funny.

7 The time she was drinking champagne out of the bottle on the red carpet with Bryan Cranston

Via: giphy.com

Winning on all fronts! Does anyone have a better time at award shows than Amy? Award shows go on for hours and hours and are probably stressful if you're up for an award. Here you have Ms. Schumer throwing back a bottle of Moet champagne. How cute is that personal champagne bottle? And yes, she is right next to Mr. Bryan Cranston, who is also throwing back a bottle of Moet champagne. Remember how Amy was chugging wine out of that huge wine glass? This is just more confirmation that Amy knows how to have a good time, no matter where she is. She doesn't take herself too seriously. Even if it is at fancy Hollywood events. This is also more confirmation that Amy can hold her own.

6 The time she reassured everyone that she's a feminist, so chill out

Of course she is a feminist. It's important that our best friend is also a feminist. Sometimes, she'll crack jokes that people will overanalyze, but at the end of the day, that is her job. Amy is a comedian. Her job is to make people laugh and sometimes that is going to mean that not everyone is going to like her. In the clip above, she was doing an interview with Chelsea Handler (another boss lady) and wanted to reassure everyone that, yes indeed, she is a feminist. "Have I not build up any good will in the female community?" Yes, you have. She also talks about her success and how she feels some responsibility when it comes to being a role model.

5 The time she did a photoshoot in her underwear, heels, with coffee in her hand, shot by Annie Leibovitz

Seems I'm an absolute pleasure to shoot.

A post shared by @ amyschumer on

BOSS. This is so amazing. Annie freakin' Leibovitz shot her for the cover of Vanity Fair. We wish we could have done this photoshoot with her to make it a BFF photoshoot. As someone who's gotten a lot of criticism for the way she looks, Amy really gave a middle finger to the haters here. This photoshoot proves that she really doesn't care what others think about her and that she's here to stay. Annie told CNN, "I think I forced her to put the underpants on, because she would have done it completely, you know, in the nude." Amy pushes the limits and doesn't want to just settle for what's normal and standard. And those are great qualities to have in a best friend.

4 The time she was dancing barefoot, with Jennifer Lawrence, on a piano, at a concert

A post shared by @ amyschumer on

This right here shows what a great BFF Amy could truly be. She is dancing with another person who we think has great BFF qualities—Jennifer Lawrence. These ladies enjoyed a night out dancing on Billy Joel's piano. Not only did Amy get on stage, but she was barefoot, dancing on top of a piano at a live concert. This woman is full of spontaneity! Adventures and memories are what you want with your best friends. You want a BFF who can create memories with you on the spot. You want a BFF who isn't afraid to look foolish in front of thousands and thousands of people. You want a BFF who will share the stage with you, even if it is to do something embarrassing.

3 The time she was trying to be the hype-woman to her road manager in Switzerland on a yacht

#roadmanager is fired up for Switzerland

A post shared by @ amyschumer on

You don't always need a crowd to have a good time. A real best friend will do whatever it takes to help you have a good time. So, this is similar to the time above, but it is in a completely different environment. This time, Amy and her road manager are on a yacht with no one in sight. But what a sweet view! Amy was trying to help her road manager loosen up and enjoy what seemed to be a beautiful day in Switzerland. And can you hear the song Amy's grooving to? That's right, it's "As Long As You Love Me" by Backstreet Boys. Her song choice alone proves that she needs to be our BFF as soon as possible. Her road manager didn't seem to ever get into it, but that didn't stop Amy from trying.

2 The (one of many) times she's unapologetic about who she is

She's always keeping it real. Besides all those other times she kept it 100, this was a direct shot about her size. She tweeted out that she's a size six and she's damn proud. Most women we know don't exactly like discussing what size they are, let alone tweet it out to everyone on Twitter. She didn't have to tell anyone, or even really ever comment on it, even though critics did. By her tweeting this, it likely helped other girls feel more confident in their own skin. And that's what we'd want in a BFF—someone that is confident and can help others find their confidence, too. Along with the tweet, she attached an image of herself looking real good! Looks like Amy does have a thing for photoshoots in heels and her panties.

1 The time she ate pasta in bed

Taken on an iPhone 6

A post shared by @ amyschumer on

Bed. Pasta. Comfort. What's the problem? Even though stand-up comedian Amy has been evolving into Hollywood actress Amy over the last few years, she's still the same person. She still enjoys the simpler things. She didn't have to share a pic of her eating, with her mouth open, but she did. The photo she shared on Instagram of her eating pasta in bed is real goals. It shows that her fame and success hasn't really changed who she is in the inside. We would wish our best friend all the success in the world, no matter what they did. But, more than that, we would wish for them to never change who they are—not for any amount of money or fame.
