At the beginning of every NFL season, every single team starts the year with the same goal in mind: win the Super Bowl, but that is much easier said than done, as the best team does not always make it to the big game. The NFL has been around for nearly 100 years, and during that time, there have officially been 53 Super Bowls, and to give you an idea of how difficult it is to win the Lombardi Trophy, there are still twelve teams who have never won it.

Many players go their entire career without ever winning a Super Bowl, no matter how good they are, but thanks to the actual size of an NFL roster, many players do retire with a ring. With that said, great teams have managed to win multiple championships, which means that quite a few players have won multiple Super Bowls, but some of those players barely did anything to contribute to those wins, if they even contributed at all, and this list will focus on 20 players who have multiple rings for doing virtually nothing.

20 Jimmy Garoppolo

Jimmy Garoppolo has turned the 49ers into a Super Bowl contender this season, which is not much of a surprise considering he already has 2 rings. He got those rings while playing for the Patriots, and although he won all 7 of his starts with the team, he was still nothing but Tom Brady's backup, and he saw zero playing time with the Pats in the postseason.

19 Matt Cavanaugh

Matt Cavanaugh won a Super Bowl as coach with the Ravens, but he also won 2 as a player, and he was by far more effective as a coach. Cavanaugh failed as a starting QB. and finished his career with an 8-11 record, with 28 TDs and 30 interceptions, but he was able to sign as a backup with San Francisco and the Giants who each won him a ring.

18 Damon Huard

Over the course of 8 years, Damon Huard made 27 starts and posted a 15-12 record as a backup, which is not that bad considering he came into the league as an undrafted player. With that said, Huard was a backup his entire career, but in 2002 and 2004, he was Brady's backup, which means he got to win 2 rings while watching from the sidelines.

17 Joe Andruzzi

Joe Andruzzi was an offensive guard, and normally, those types of players do not receive that much attention, but in this case, he and his 3 Super Bowl rings do. He can thank the Patriots for each of those rings, as the score sheet for those championship runs do not mention his name anywhere.

16 Jonathan Casillas

With 385 career tackles, Jonathan Casillas was a pretty decent linebacker, however the vast majority of those tackles came in the regular season. In 2009, Casillas won his first ring as a rookie with New Orleans, while his second came with New England, and during both those championship runs, he recorded just a single tackle and 2 assisted ones.

15 Charlie Batch

Ben Roethlisberger may be at the end of his career, but when he was in his prime, he was an amazing quarterback, and Charlie Batch has a real soft spot for him. Batch is a failed starter who spent a decade as Big Ben's backup, and during that time, he posted a 6-3 record with a dozen touchdowns and interceptions; but more importantly, he got 2 rings.

14 Dan Klecko

All of the players on this list were lucky to be in the right spot at the right time, but Dan Klecko may be the luckiest. He won his first 2 Super Bowls with New England, where he started in just 3 games combined, and his final ring came courtesy of the Colts in 2007, where he recorded his first and only playoff tackle.

13 Lonie Paxton

Lonie Paxton spent 12 years in the NFL, and for 9 of those years, he played for the Patriots, which means that he too benefited greatly from playing with Brady. Paxton won 3 rings with the Pats, where he served as the team's long snapper, a position that literally anyone can play with enough practice.

12 Dale Hellestrae

The Dallas Cowboys had a true dynasty in the 90s, as they won 3 Super Bowls in a 4-year span, and Dale Hellestrae was there for all of them. Hellestrae was a backup offensive lineman who did not start in a single game for the Cowboys, and his tenure with the team lasted for 11 seasons, which shows how much they trusted him on the field.

11 Mike Lodish

The Broncos won back-to-back Super Bowls in 1998 and 1999, thanks in large part to John Elway, but Mike Lodish was also there. The defensive tackle spent 5 years with Denver, and after his first year, he only made 3 starts, and during their playoff runs, he recovered just 1 fumble while also never registering a tackle.

10 Zak DeOssie

So far, Zak DeOssie has spent his entire NFL career with the New York Giants, and during that 12-year span, he had a front row seat to both of the Giants' Super victories over the Patriots. DeOssie is the team's long snapper, which means that he actually played in both Super Bowls, but he failed to register a single tackle in those wins.

9 Matt Chatham

From a box score perspective, Matt Chatham's best game came in 2003 when he managed to recover a fumble and drive it home for a touchdown. Aside from that career highlight, Chatham finished his career with 3 rings, even though the DT never recorded a single tackle in the playoffs, but when you play for the Patriots, rings seem to just fall into players' laps.

8 Derek Loville

Derek Loville is a running back who has won 3 Super Bowls, and if you have not heard of him before, no one would blame you. When the 49ers won it all in 1995, Loville was the third-string running back, and as a result, he never made it onto the field, and the Broncos gave him 2 more rings, even though he recorded just 6 TDs over 4 seasons with them.

7 Adrian Klemm

You can currently see Adrian Klemm on the sidelines of Steelers games, where he helps coach their offensive line. Klemm was taken in the second round of the 2000 draft by New England, which was very convenient, as the team went on to win 3 Super Bowls shortly after, and he got those rings despite starting in just 18 games over 6 years.

6 Dennis Dixon

Not many 5th round picks can say that they have won a Super Bowl with multiple teams, but Dennis Dixon can. Dixon spent his entire 5-year career as a backup QB, where he completed just 35 passes, but at least he got to watch Big Ben lead him and the Steelers to a championship in 2009, and he did the same thing in 2014 while playing behind Joe Flacco in Baltimore.

5 Patrick Pass

Fullbacks have a tendency of not getting the recognition they deserve, but in Patrick Pass' case, he should just be happy that he has 3 rings. Pass spent 7 seasons with New England, which explains the rings, but he did very little to earn them seeing as he only had 1 rushing attempt in 9 playoff games, and he did not even gain a single yard with it.

4 Anthony Lynn

Running backs tend to be pretty important, which is why Anthony Lynn's non-existent performances in 98 and 99 stand out. Lynn played 3 seasons for the Broncos, but not once did he get played in the playoffs, which sounds as bad as it does, because it means Denver would have won consecutive championships whether he was on the roster or not.

3 Mike Wilson

The 49ers won 4 Super Bowls in the 1980s, making them one of the best dynasties in sports, and Mike Wilson was there for it all. Wilson was a wide receiver and a former 9th round pick, and although he performed decently during the regular season, he only had 10 receptions throughout all of the team's championship runs.

2 Je'Rod Cherry

After being drafted in the second round, Je'Rod Cherry went on to play in the NFL for 9 seasons, but it was the final 4 seasons that really mattered. Those seasons were spent with the Patriots, and although he never started a game for them, and had just 1 tackle in 11 playoff games, he was the proud recipient of 3 rings.

1 Rohan Davey

The Patriots have given many undeserving players multiple rings, but when you have the best QB and head coach of all time, these things tend to happen. Rohan Davey found himself in the NFL for 3 seasons, where he won 2 Super Bowls as Brady's backup, but what is even more amazing, is the fact that he has those rings while having just 8 complete passes...
