According to Biography, Seacrest has always shown a keen interest in becoming a media personality even at a young age. He listened to DJs such as Rick Dees and Casey Kasem growing up. He studied them and reportedly copied the way they talked. And then, later in life, he managed to get an internship at a local radio station. Essentially, this was how fate intervened.

Seacrest was only 19 years when he decided to drop out of the University of Georgia to pursue radio and television. One of his first gigs was hosting the children’s television show “Click.” And then, he moved on to “American Idol” and eventually became a household name. He recalled, “As I was seated, I was thinking about the menu of options, the things you can do when you’re finished. And so, I chose one and I pressed it, and the water level began to rise underneath me. I thought, Oh god, I better hit the other button. And it began to rise even more.” In the end, Seacrest said he did his business then closed the lid.
