Hollywood seems like such a large world: there are millions of celebrities who have invaded that city of dreams and landed on our TVs, in our movies and in our magazines. It seems like there's a new celebrity or two (or three) invading the world of entertainment on any given day. Maybe that's because people travel from all over the world to make it or break it in La La Land, which means we always have an influx of new faces anytime we consume our media.
But there's actually a big secret to Hollywood and its celebrities' success. Many celebrities aren't just faces who turned up overnight. In fact, many celebrities have been there all along, but they've kept it quiet on just how exactly they made a name for themselves. Yes, that's right: many celebrities actually come from families that have other celebrities, although some prefer to change their names or not tell anyone about those specific connections, wanting to make it or break it on their own (which is admirable).
So which celebrities are related to each other? Here's a list of 25 that you probably didn't know that have familial connections.
25 Melanie Griffith and Dakota Johnson
Here is an example of beauty that definitely runs in the family. Actress Melanie Griffith made a name for herself when she was younger playing some pretty sultry roles. And although some of her roles were in movies that tanked, garnering her a series of Raspberry Awards, she also made her mark in several critically acclaimed and award-winning movies, including Body Double and Working Girl. On the other hand, Dakota Johnson has done her time in racy roles, too, most notably in the very R-rated Fifty Shades of Grey movies. And that makes a lot of sense, considering that she gets that racy edge from her mom. Yes, she's Griffith's daughter.
Johnson's father is none other than Miami Vice's Don Johnson. And even more interesting is that her grandmother was actress Tippi Hedren. It seems that beauty and talent run all throughout that family. There's also this: Antonio Banderas was once Johnson's stepfather, but he and her mother have divorced. So, there are a lot of celebrity relationships in that family, and they are all very beautiful people.
What's up next for Johnson? Fans can expect to see her next in the remake of American and Italian horror flick Suspiria.
24 Blake Lively and Robin Lively
When Blake Lively starred in Gossip Girl, she lit up the screen and immediately became a fan favorite on the series. Although the actress is nothing like the spoiled rich girl she played on the show, fans still remember her for how well she handled that role. She went on to star in Age of Adaline, where she played an immortal woman who struggled to find love in a world full of mortals. She's also known as someone who's pretty funny on social media, which makes sense considering that her husband is Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds.
Remember Teen Witch? Every woman who grew up in the 1980s and 1990s probably does. That movie told the tale of a misfit girl who suddenly discovers that she has magical powers because, as the title suggests. she's a witch. And after that, every girl wished she was her. Since its release, the film has become a cult classic. The star of that movie was Robyn Lively, and that last name is no coincidence. Blake and Robyn are half-sisters: they share the same mother. They're also pretty close: they appear in many photos together and recently went on a family vacation to Long Island. Who doesn't love that kind of sisterly bond?
23 Warren Beatty and Shirley Maclaine
Here's a pair of siblings that not everyone knows about, probably because they don't look anything alike, they have different last names and they aren't really seen together that often. But believe it or not, actress Shirley MacLaine and actor Warren Beatty are actually brother and sister. And this isn't even a case of siblings that didn't grow up together, which happens often in many scenarios.
Both MacLaine and Warren Beatty grew up in the same home as siblings in Virginia.
So why do people not know this about the two? MacLaine believes it's because she and Beatty are just very different from one another. “I looked at a lot of other women who had sisters and went through that (competition)," MacLaine told CBS. "With him, I felt more of a protection, 'cause he is … three years younger.”
Both actors have had very long careers, but there's one detail that fans probably wonder about: why haven't the two ever worked together? MacLaine once hinted that they wouldn't make a good team, but it does make sense to keep family separate from work. And again, as she previously pointed out, they are two very different kinds of people. But never say never, right?
22 Elle King and Rob Schneider
When Elle King hit the music scene with her dulcet tones and her musical style that encompassed a little country, a little rock, a little blues and a whole lot of soul, music fans could not get enough. Her first album, Love Stuff, debuted in 2015 and produced a single that landed in the top 10 on the charts and garnered King two Grammy Award nominations. She recently debuted a new single that has a bit more of an electronic influence, but she remains more talented than ever.
Rob Schneider is known mostly as a seriously funny guy. As a Saturday Night Light veteran, he has made a lot of people laugh in such movies as Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, The Hot Chick and The Benchwarmers. Not a day goes by when someone doesn't utter the phrase "you can do it," which comes from multiple characters that he has portrayed throughout his long career. He's even a meme.
One might think these two people have nothing in common, but those folks are wrong. Elle King's real name is Tanner Elle Schneider, and that's because Rob Schneider is her father. Her mother is former model London King. Yet another example of two talented people creating talented offspring.
21 Bonnie Bedelia and Macaulay Culkin
Most TV viewers know Bonnie Bedalia as Camille Braverman on Parenthood, in which she played the family matriarch. But she has also had a long career that spans all the way back to 1961, when she appeared on the soap opera Love of Life. After that, she started making movies, and never looked back. She received numerous award nominations, but it wasn't until she appeared in Die Hard and Die Hard 2 as John Maclaine's wife, that people started recognizing her on the street.
Everyone knows Macaulay Culkin, thanks to his portrayal of Kevin the Home Alone movies about a boy whose family always seems to leave him behind.
But Macaulay's real family is a lot more interesting. His other two brothers went on to become actors, too, and starred in movies and on TV. Although Macaulay, Rory and Kieran have all since faded from the spotlight, they are all still in Hollywood making movies and TV shows.
It turns out that Bedalia is actually the aunt of Macaulay, Rory and Kieran. Her brother, Kit Culkin, is also an actor. It seems that the acting bug runs in this family, and they all continue to work in the business in one capacity or another.
20 Drew Barrymore and Steven Spielberg
Drew Barrymore is one of those few actresses who broke the curse of being a child actor to go on and have a successful acting career as an adult. Although she did have a few setbacks in her life, she is still a super star and fans still see her in movies, as well as on TV, most recently as the star of Netflix's The Santa Clarita Diet. She defied the odds and remains successful all over the world.
Steven Spielberg is probably one of the most notable and beloved directors to ever grace movies. He's a multiple Oscar winner and is responsible for some of the best movies of this century, including E.T., which little Drew Barrymore actually co-starred in.
But these two have even more in common than just being a part of E.T. and our childhoods. Yes, Barrymore already comes from a highly acclaimed acting family, some known for their film work, while others are known for their theatrical work. But Spielberg is a more important man in Barrymore's life than just someone who directed her: Spielberg is actually Barrymore's godfather, too. Interestingly enough, Spielberg is also godfather to Gwyneth Paltrow, who also comes from a huge acting family.
19 Melissa McCarthy and Jenny McCarthy
Just because two actresses have the same name doesn't mean that they're related. And it's true that the McCarthy name is a popular one, so those with that last name are not necessarily part of the same family. So when it comes to funny women Melissa McCarthy and Jenny McCarthy, most would not even think about the two being even remotely related.
Melissa McCarthy gained her claim to fame by playing the wacky chef Sookie on Gilmore Girls. She went on to become a film star, which even landed her a part in the latest iteration of the Ghostbusters.
She's recognized all over the world as one of the funniest people to ever star on TV or in film.
Jenny McCarthy is also a funny lady, although most now know her for something a little more controversial: she had a hand in helping to start the anti-vaxxing movement by citing bad research that suggests that somehow vaccinations cause autism (although they don't). This is in spite of the fact that she doesn't have any kind of scientific background, but that hasn't stopped folks from believing her claims.
Believe it or not, these two women are actually cousins. But they couldn't be any more different, could they?
18 Jessica Capshaw and Steven Spielberg
Hollywood celebrities get around a lot. They marry into famous families and they marry each other and they have children who go on to become famous people. So it's no surprise that there are so many celebrities who are part of the same family, although sometimes it gets a little convoluted trying to figure out exactly who is related to who, especially when there are divorces and multiple marriages going on.
Actress Jessica Capshaw is mostly known for her role as Dr. Arizona Robbins on Grey's Anatomy. She was born in Columbia, Missouri, the daughter of Kate Capshaw, an actress known for her roles in such movies as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Just Cause and The Love Letter.
Kate Capshaw has another claim to fame, though: she's also married to Steven Spielberg (the two met while working on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom together, something that happens often in Hollywood). Jessica was already born at that time, the offspring from a previous marriage, but Kate's marriage to Spielberg makes the famed director Jessica's stepfather.
See how complicated things get in Hollywood? Combined, Kate Capshaw and Steven Spielberg have a total of seven children. We bet they have a really big table for family dinners.
17 Elizabeth Olsen and the Olsen Twins
Remember the Olsen twins? They're known mostly for their role on the original Full House, where they took turns starring as the baby of the Tanner family, Michelle. The two went on to become massive celebrities and, after Full House ended, they took over the tween home video market with all kinds of movies, TV specials and merchandising.
Now, the two are fashion designers and still remain in the public spotlight. They always seem to show up to events and parties together, forever joined by the DNA bonds that hold them close. So maybe it's weird to think about them actually having other siblings.
But the Olsen twins do have other siblings, including one who is now a massive star: Elizabeth Olsen.
For those living under a rock, Elizabeth is now known for her role in the Avengers movies, in which she portrays superhero Scarlet Witch. And considering just how huge those movies are now, especially the latest, Avengers: Infinity War, Elizabeth is well on her way of outshining her two more famous sisters.
The thing is, although not many people realize she's related to the twins, when you look at photos of her and them, the similarities are striking.
16 Lily Allen and Alfie Allen
Although Lily Allen isn't quite as famous in the U.S. as she is in the U.K., she's still a huge pop star. What's most interesting is that she got her start by uploading her songs to MySpace (remember that social media site?). That landed her a recording contract. Her first single, "Smile" put her on the charts in both the U.K. and U.S., with her first album landing her nominations for the Grammy Awards, Brit Awards and MTV Video Music Awards. She even got her own TV show in the U.K., Lily Allen and Friends.
Then, there's Alfie Allen, who is known for his role as Theon Greyjoy on Game of Thrones. That role landed him international stardom, and it's likely he now gets recognized everywhere he goes.
The two don't just share a last name—they're actually brother and sister. Their relationship, though, is a complicated one. Lily wrote a song called "Alfie" where she told her brother to stop being lazy and get a job. Then, she claimed to have been offered the role of Theon's sister, Yara, on Game of Thrones, but Alfie called her out on the lie and banned his sister from talking about it again. It seems like these two take their bickering to the next level.
15 Jason Momoa and Zoë Kravitz
When Jason Momoa first appeared on HBO's Game of Thrones as Khal Drogo, the hearts of women all over the world went wildly aflutter. Because of his role on the hit series, Momoa went on to become an even bigger star and eventually won the role of Aquaman in the DC expanded universe movies, including Justice League, and his own film set for release later this year. Momoa is a bonafide celebrity now.
Actress Zoë Kravitz exploded on the Hollywood scene in No Reservations when she was still just a senior in high school. That led to more roles in movies, including The Brave One, Assassination of a High School President, The Greatest and Twelve. She has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jodie Foster, Terrence Howard, Susan Sarandon, Kiefer Sutherland and Ezra Miller.
Zoë already has one claim to fame as a celebrity: she's the daughter of musical icon Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet.
But she also has another relationship that most don't know about. Her mother is now married to Jason Momoa as of 2017, but they've been together for more than a decade. That makes Momoa her stepfather. All we can say is that is one beautiful and talented family.
14 Riley Keough and Elvis Presley
Riley Keough is one of those young actresses whose star is on the rise. She made her film debut in 2010 in The Runaways, a film about the life and times of the rock band of the same name. She went on to take other high-profile roles, including portraying a stripper in Magic Mike and appearing in a music video for Justin Timberlake's "TKO." She also had a supporting role in Mad Max: Fury Road.
Elvis Presley is the king of rock and roll. His legacy keeps fans flocking to his mansion and graveside in Memphis, Tennessee every year in honor of his birth and death. He is one of those rare kinds of performers; one who people remember even long after his passing. He is also the father of Lisa Marie Presley, who is a celebrity in her own right.
Lisa Marie eventually married musician Danny Keough: the two had a daughter, and that daughter is Riley. That makes Riley the granddaughter of Elvis Presley, nearly making her a legend herself.
The resemblance between mother and daughter is unmistakable, but Elvis fans probably never put two and two together to figure out exactly where Riley got all that great DNA and talent.
13 Katherine Waterston and Sam Waterston
Harry Potter is one of those film franchises that will probably last forever, especially as long as Hollywood keeps making movies set in that universe. Once they ran out of books, they began thinking outside of the box and finally released Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which covered the life of Newt Scamander, a character briefly mentioned in the Harry Potter series of books and movies.
Katherine Waterston starred in that film as Porpentina, an American wizard who meets and falls in love with Newt, all the while helping him fight an evil that threatens all of wizarding world. This made Katherine an international star, someone easily recognized everywhere she goes.
She will even return as Porpentina later this year in the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Then there's Sam Waterston. Although he has had a long acting career, he is most well-known for his role Jack McCoy on Law & Order. He's a huge celebrity and even has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. What you might not know, though, is that these two Waterstons are related: Katherine is Sam's daughter. It seems that great acting chops runs in that family.
12 George Wendt and Jason Sudeikis
Almost everyone remembers George Wendt as Norm on Cheers, the man who forever warmed a bar seat at the infamous bar that was the setting of the show that ran for 1982 to 1993. He's gone on to continue acting in films and on TV, but it's hard to see him as anything but that iconic character that always made us laugh.
Most know Jason Sudeikis as being a funny guy, too. Not only was he a writer for Saturday Night Live, but he was a cast member of that show from 2005 to 2013. Now he's making funny movies, including the Horrible Bosses films, We're The Millers and even the Angry Birds movie. In 2011, he hosted the MTV Movie Awards.
These are two very talented and funny men, so it's no surprise that they have a lot in common. But there is something else that you might not know about them: they are also related. How? It turns out that Wendt is actually the uncle of Sudeikis. But that isn't where the celebrity relationships end in that family. Sudeikis is also the great-grandson of acclaimed photographer Tom Howard. This is yet another tale of a family full of talented people.
11 Oliver Hudson and Kate Hudson
Hollywood is full of stories of marriages and divorces, as well as births, among great acting families. It almost seems that maybe everyone is related to everyone else because family relationships are just so complicated in these families that are full of actors.
Let's start with Oliver Hudson. He already has one claim to fame, as far as coming from famous families go. The star of Walk of Shame is the son of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson. However, after the couple split, Kurt Russell took Oliver in as his own son, and they became a family.
It's no coincidence that Kate Hudson shares the same last name as Oliver: she is the daughter of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, and was also taken in by Kurt Russell once Hawn established a relationship with him.
It might seem confusing, but it comes down to this: Oliver Hudson and Kate Hudson are brother and sister. And the siblings are actually quite close.
Unfortunately, they both have a bad relationship with their biological father. In 2015, reports surfaced that Bill Hudson had publicly disowned both of them. Considering they did not have much of a relationship with him to begin with, it was not a surprise, but it's still heartbreaking to read about.
10 Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson
Reba McEntire is probably one of the most well-known women in country music, but she does a lot more than just sing songs with her signature twang: she's also an accomplished songwriter, actress and record producer. She even had her own TV series from 2001 through 2007. In 2009, she received a nomination for a Golden Globe for her work for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series–Musical or Comedy.
Kelly Clarkson burst into the spotlight by wowing judges and the world with her singing prowess during the first season of American Idol way back in 2002. She went on to win that contest, following up with a single that ended up as the best-selling single of that year. She continued to make music and went on to win numerous awards, including Grammy Awards, MTV Awards, American Music Awards and Academy of Country Music Awards.
But these two women have much more in common than their musical talent. In 1989, Reba married Narvel Blackstock, which made her the stepmother of his three children, including Brandon Blackstock. In 2013, Kelly married Brandon, which made Reba her mother-in-law. Although Reba and Narvel eventually split up, the two women remain close and have even performed several duets together.
9 Meryl Streep and Grace Gummer
There isn't a moviegoer alive today who does not know who Meryl Streep is. She is one of the most famous women all over the world, as well as one of the most accomplished actresses of all time. She has received a whopping 32 Golden Globe nominations (she won eight). She also currently has the record for most Academy Award nominations: 21 total (although she only won three). Streep is a woman who gets recognized everywhere she goes. People just know who she is.
Grace Gummer isn't as famous, but most TV fans will know her face. Not only did she star with Halle Berry in the sci-fi drama Extant but she also currently co-stars on USA's Mr. Robot. She also appeared on Smash, The Newsroom and Zero Hour.
She is one of those upcoming actresses that everyone will soon want to talk about.
Gummer also looks a lot like Meryl Streep, but don't worry: that's no coincidence. Gummer is actually the daughter of Streep and sculptor Don Gummer. It seems that this is definitely a case of Mom's talented DNA getting passed on to her daughter. Expect to see a lot more of Gummer in the years to come.
8 Ron Howard and Bryce Dallas-Howard
Everyone knows that some names are just extremely common. So two actors might have the same last name, but that doesn't necessarily make them related. This is even more true when the two actors don't look anything alike. Take Ron Howard, who isn't just a former child actor, but also one of Hollywood's most beloved directors. He most recently directed the blockbuster Solo: A Star Wars Story, but he got his start as an actor portraying Opie on The Andy Griffith Show. Most of his work now, though, is behind the camera.
Then, there's Bryce Dallas Howard, who is a beautiful actress that we see a lot on the silver screen these days. Although she has a lot of acting notches in her belt, fans starting taking note when she portrayed Gwen Stacey in 2007's Spider-Man, but she also has a Golden Globe nomination for her work in Kenneth Branagh's film adaptation of As You Like It. She also appeared in The Help and 50/50. However, she is most well-known for her role in Jurassic World (and will reprise that role in two more Jurassic movies).
This is another case of talent running the family. Bryce is actually Ron's daughter, so in this case, the Howard name is a shared one by blood.
7 Tom Cruise and William Mapother
Tom Cruise is so famous that he once went through a period where people questioned if the fame had truly gotten to him. He was jumping on couches and saying a lot of crazy things at one point, but that's what happens when someone is so famous that they can't see straight. He's an international superstar and still appears on movie screens in some of the biggest blockbusters to hit the box office. From Top Gun to Mission: Impossible to Interview With The Vampire, he is the kind of actor where it's hard to see the character he's portraying, because he's just Tom Cruise.
On the other hand, William Mapother is one of those guys with a familiar face.
He has done a lot of work in Hollywood throughout the years, but he's not really that recognized for it. He's mostly known for his role on the TV series Lost, although he has also appeared in The Blacklist, the Macgyver reboot, Powers, Rush Hour and The Mentalist.
These men could not be more different, and yet, they're related. Tom Cruise's real last name is Mapother. That's no coincidence: the two men are actually cousins. Sure, Cruise is famous, but Mapother is equally as talented. These two cousins obviously share the same Hollywood acting bug.
6 Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts
When it comes to recognizable faces in Hollywood, it doesn't get more recognizable than Julia Roberts. She stole hearts in Pretty Woman, but she went on to become an international superstar, as well as Golden Globe nominee and winner. In 2000, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Erin Brockovich. Years later and she's still one of the most successful actresses working today.
Emma Roberts is still pretty young, but she's made a name for herself in both TV and movies. She was the star of Nickelodeon Unfabulous, but then went on to become a huge star. She not only scored a role in the Nancy Drew movie but also was the star in the TV series Scream Queens. She seemed to have a penchant for horror because she also starred in three seasons of American Horror Story.
But these two women do not just share a last name. They share much more than that. Emma is the daughter of actor Eric Roberts (an actor known in his own right). Eric is actually Julia Roberts brother. That means that Julia is Emma's aunt. Obviously, there is a serious acting bug in that family.
5 Quincy Jones and Rashida Jones
Musician and record producer Quincy Jones made a name for himself in music in a way that no other person before him ever had. He has a record-breaking 79 Grammy Award nominations and has won a total of 27, including the Grammy Legend Award. He's a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, thanks to his contributions to popular music, which included producing some of Michael Jackson's biggest albums: Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad.
On the other hand, Rashida Jones is an actress known mostly for her role on the comedy series Parks and Recreation. But she also had roles on The Office and Boston Public. On the big screen, Rashida appeared in The Social Network, The Muppets and Our Idiot Brother. She currently stars in the TBS comedy series Angie Tribeca.
So what does this famous musician and producer have in common with this accomplished actress?
Well, there is the obvious: they're both named Jones. But Jones is a common name, so surely they aren't related, right? Here's the thing: Rashida is the daughter of Quincy Jones. Rashida's mother, Peggy Lipton, was also an actress and starred on the hit TV series The Mod Squad. This is yet another case of the Hollywood bug running through the family blood line.
4 Liev Schreiber and Pablo Schreiber
Liev Schreiber is an accomplished American actor. Not only does he have a lot of Broadway productions under his belt but he has also starred in the movies, as well as in TV series. He even became a mutant for the X-Men in the movies (he was Sabretooth in those films). Most know him as one of the stars of the classic Scream movies, although he made even more of a name for himself as the star of Showtime's Ray Donovan. He has a Tony Award, as well as several Golden Globe Award and Primetime Emmy nominations. He even serves as a narrator for a few PBS shows.
Pablo Schreiber is an accomplished Canadian actor. He also has his share of theatrical productions under his belt, as well as a co-starring role in the Starz TV series American Gods. He is most well-known for his roles on The Wire and Orange Is The New Black. He also has a Tony award.
These two have more than a name and successful careers in common, though. They are also related. The two men are half-brothers, sharing a father, who, believe it or not, was also an actor. Talent must be part of their DNA.
3 Zoey Deutch and Lea Thompson
Before Vampire Academy, no one really knew who Zoey Deutch was. But after that movie released, she was soon considered one of Hollywood's bright young stars, an up and coming talent that would go places. Since taking on that role, she has since starred in many movies, including Before I Fall, Flower, Beautiful Creatures and Dirty Grandpa. She even starred in the music video for Ed Sheeran's "Perfect." Her star doesn't show any sign of fading either: she has a lot of movies in her future.
Everyone knows Lea Thompson as the girl who played the younger version of Marty McFly's mother in the Back to the Future movies.
But she also starred in her own sitcom in the '90s called Caroline in the City. She also appeared in such classic '80s movies, such as Some Kind of Wonderful, Red Dawn and Howard the Duck. Her most recent role was on Freeform's hit series Switched at Birth.
These two women don't share a last name, so most people don't realize that they have a lot more in common than a love for acting. Lea married Howard Deutch in 1989 and had two children, Zoey and Madelyn. Zoey is Lea's daughter. But Zoey isn't the only actress in the family, though: Madelyn also has a few IMDB credits under her name, too.
2 Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson
Although we already briefly mentioned the Hudson family and all the talent that seems to run in that family, there are still many people who don't realize that actress Goldie Hawn is actually related to actress Kate Hudson. But the truth is that the two are mother and daughter (although Hawn has aged so well that she often appears more like Hudson's sister than anything). Both are equally famous for various roles, and both seem to have the same beauty: Hudson most certainly inherited her mother's beauty and talent.
Here's the story: before Goldie Hawn met Kurt Russell, she was married to actor, comedian and musician Bill Hudson. They had two children: Kate and Oliver (who we previously mentioned). Hawn and Hudson split, though, when Kate was only 18 months old, so she was raised by Hawn and her longtime-boyfriend, Russell. Russell is more of a father to Kate than her biological father.
This is Hollywood, so sometimes the family tree gets a lot of branches, what with all the divorces, children and affairs. But it seems that Hawn and Russell's love affair is one for the ages: the couple, although unmarried, have been together for more than 30 years. Now that's true love.
1 Jake Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard
Jake Gyllenhaal has quickly become one of those stars in Hollywood that everyone recognizes. Although he starred in cult film Donnie Darko as a troubled teenager, he made a name for himself in La La Land in such huge blockbuster movies, such as The Day After Tomorrow, Brokeback Mountain, Source Code, Southpaw and Nightcrawler. And he continues to make big movies, most recently being cast in the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel as the villain Mysterio.
It's no secret that Jake is also the younger brother of actress Maggie Gyllenhaal. The two are often seen together, sharing the screen and the spotlight (Maggie starred with Jake in Donnie Darko). But here is a surprise: there is another actor in the family, too. And this is an actor one might not know as related to the Gyllenhaal clan. That actor is Maggie's husband, Peter Saarsgard.
Interestingly enough, Peter even starred in the movie Jarhead with Jake. Saarsgard is also known for his work on The Man In The Iron Mask, Garden State, An Education, Night Moves and Black Mass. He also appeared in the TV series The Killing. He and Maggie got married in 2009 and currently have two daughters. We wonder if they'll become actors, too?
