Rapper DaBaby has a successful rap career with five top 10 hits and a #1. However, his career has not been without controversy. Many rappers are known for being no holds barred when it comes to their opinions. People want DaBaby canceled as they do many other celebrities. Interestingly enough, regardless of how offensive or strange some rappers behave, many of them always seem to bounce back. It all depends on the loyalty of their fanbase.

It makes one question, "How far is too far?" and if it should be normalized when celebrities say outlandish things because, well, outspokenness, even when harmful, happens all the time in Hollywood. While celebrities are human first and are allowed to make mistakes, one may question if particular comments are "mistakes," a star merely being ignorant, or flat-out offensive. Throughout his career, here are some criticisms that DaBaby has faced.

9 Having The Same Flow On All His Songs

Fans have called DaBaby out for overutilizing his signature flow in all of his songs. Although DaBaby dabbled in some singing on his last album, "Blame It On Baby," and tried to switch things up, he always faces this criticism. In a Breakfast Club interview, he explained that he could rap circles around anyone. He expressed that he could record a conscious album like J. Cole or Lucas Joyner.

8 DaBaby's Baby Mama Drama

Power106 reported that the mother of DaBaby's child, MeMe, and singer DaniLeigh, known for her song "Easy," featuring Chris Brown, had a Twitter war. It seems as if DaBaby was seeing the singer on the side, which, rightfully so, made Meme upset. DaBaby also had another child while being on and off with MeMe. What added more fuel to the fire of DaBaby's tumultuous love life is that DaniLeigh came out with a song called "Yellow Bone."

The lyrics stated, "Yellow Bone that's what he wants." which many people assumed took a shot at Meme, who has darker skin. As a result, people called DaniLeigh, a colorist. DaniLeigh apologized that most people didn't buy, and the two broke up because of the fiasco. However, as of 2021, DaniLeigh is now pregnant with DaBaby's child.

7 Working With Tory Lanez

Lanez had a promising career with his songs such as "Say It" and "Luv" performing well on the Billboard Hot 100, with him having a solid fan base and Drake backing him at a point in time before they started beefing. However, when allegations of him shooting rapper Megan Thee Stallion came out, he lost much support. So, what does DaBaby have to do with this? DaBaby and Megan Thee Stallion have collaborated on a few songs together. When DaBaby collaborated on "Skat" with Lanez, this caused a riff, and there was a Twitter war between DaBaby, Megg The Stallion, and her boyfriend, Pardison Fontaine.

6 A Battery Case In Miami

DaBaby was cleared of a battery case in Miami. The Miami State Attorney's office dropped the charge because one of the victims would not cooperate. The alleged victim is the friend of promoter Kenneth Carey who was also involved in the accident. That case may have been thrown out, but the case against Carey wasn't. DaBaby and his entourage assaulted the man and robbed him due to a business deal disagreement. Carey was 10,000 short of money that he owed DaBaby for him to perform.

5 His Homophobic And Insensitive Comments About HIV/AIDS

HIV/AIDS are sexually transmitted diseases that people stigmatize. At rap concerts, it's typical to shout out particular things to hype up the crowd. However, many people didn't find it normal because DaBaby prompted the Rolling Loud concert goers to put their cell phone lighters up if they didn't have an STD that would make them die in two to three weeks. One, with the proper treatment people, can live much longer. Freddie Mercury lived four years after his diagnosis. Magic Johnson has lived nearly thirty years with HIV. DaBaby also made comments about a male-on-male sexual act he disapproved of strongly.

4 Hitting A Woman Fan

According to BBC News, DaBaby struck a woman fan in Florida. During a performance, the woman held her phone up to the rapper with the flash on it. He hit her, not realizing that there was a woman behind the phone. The crowd booed the rapper, and he left the stage without performing any songs. He apologized, but it doesn't help that he's had several brushes with the law during his career.

3 Knocking Out A Man's Tooth

According to Hot 97, DaBaby knocked a man's tooth out during a video shoot. The story goes that DaBaby rented out Gary Pagar's California vacation rental home in 2020. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only 12 people could be in the house, but Pagar claimed there were 40 people there, which violated the lease agreement. Allegedly, when Pagar went to shut things down, an altercation ensued. Pagar claimed that not did DaBaby knock his tooth out but that he damaged his property as well.

2 For Killing A 19-Year-Old

The "Rockstar" rapper claims that 19-year-old Jaylin Craig attempted to rob him, and he acted in self-defense. DaBaby killed Craig at a North Carolina Walmart. This tragedy is the most controversial episode of DaBaby's career. Craig's family doesn't believe there was a robbery knowing that Craig was not this type of person. Craig's cousin expressed that Craig was a mere fan that DaBaby became annoyed with because he wanted to see the up-and-coming rapper up close. DaBaby didn't go to jail because a key witness, a Walmart worker, never showed up in court.

1 For Being Too Cocky

A lot of people might argue that DaBaby deserves to be cocky. Many of his singles have gone platinum. However, people have questioned if DaBaby is a result of him having a sound that sells or an excellent lyricist. The "Cry Baby" rapper makes catchy songs, but one may question if DaBaby appears in anyone's "greatest rappers of all time" lists.
