Colt Johnson's time on '90 Day Fiancé' involved a whole lot of drama. Most recently, he was shamed in the media for 'attacking' his former lover after an argument. But before that, he caught heat for apparently cheating on his ex and then gaslighting her in the reunion special.

Still, there are some fans who are curious about what happened to Colt. Namely, they want to know if the rumors about his $500K net worth are true.

According to Heavythe cast of the show makes less cash than comparable reality TV series. So while Colt may have started his relationship with his ex-wife Larissa Dos Santos Lima with quite a bit of cash, he didn't make a ton from appearing on '90 Day Fiancé.'

Instead, the money Colt lavished on his former flame came from his savings and his earnings as a software engineer. Heavy highlighted that Colt works at Konami Gaming, and that the average income for his role is about $115K per year. CheatSheet hints that his salary more likely hovers between $72,000 and $97,000, based on figures reported to Glassdoor.

Combined with the fact that Colt lives with his mom (they split the rent) and is pretty frugal (he drove a car without AC when he first appeared on TV), it's not surprising that he was able to pay for Larissa's plastic surgery, gym memberships, lawyer fees, and everything else.

But Colt drew the line at giving Larissa $1 million upon their separation, though that's what his soon-to-be-ex asked for. Instead, Heavy reports, she got $200 per month. So maybe Colt isn't rolling in the dough as much these days.

He did drop a ton of cash on Larissa's flashy engagement ring, so maybe that's where some of his money went. Still, since he continued working on his career and got a bit of cash from starring on '90 Day Fiancé,' it may have been reasonable to believe that Colt Johnson was worth around $500K.

Sources say Colt earned about $1,000 per episode for his appearances on TV, plus $2,500 for showing up for the reunion special.

And yet, Colt recently admitted that he'd been laid off from his job due to the coronavirus. He'd been working from home for only a few weeks, CheatSheet quoted him as saying, when his job ended. Further, Colt noted, "I have some savings but not a lot. I'm angry and disappointed in myself."

Perhaps Colt isn't as rich as fans were led to believe... Of course, as CheatSheet points out, he did have to spend a lot to free himself from Larissa in their divorce, plus pay for her legal expenses as part of the immigration process.
