Brandon and Julia are one of the most controversial couples on TLC’s hit show 90 Day Fiancé, because they cannot seem to grow up. The pair fell in love online, when one of Brandon’s closest friends decided to set them up via video chat. A few months and one sparkly diamond ring later, they were all set to start their lives together... Well almost.

Unlike most engaged folks who shack up on their own, Brandon and Julia decided to move in with Brandon’s parents Ron and Betty Gibbs. What could possibly go wrong?

Everything, apparently. The friction between Brandon and his parents has made Ron and Betty extremely unpopular. But now there’s a whole new dimension to the parents’ bad reputation, and fans of the show are coming for them.

The Reputation Of The Farm

Brandon’s parents Ron and Betty Gibbs are not exactly popular with fans of 90 Day Fiancé. The two have made quite a bit of controversy, due to their old school ideas of sex and marriage. Not only do they not allow their newly-engaged son to share a bedroom with his bride-to-be; they also ask invasive questions about the couple’s preferred methods of birth control. Yikes!

The most recent scandal surrounding the pair, however, has to do with their line of work.

As most fans know, Ron and Betty run a farm. The couple also makes a living breeding dogs. This all may seem reasonably normal to a lot of folks. However, for some fans, this means that the couple’s establishment is actually a puppy mill.

And there is a lot of anger out there about what the Gibbs’s business means for the puppies involved.

Fans Condemn The ‘Puppy Mill’

A lot of fans have concerns about Betty and Ron’s dog breeding business, especially with respect to the way their hounds are treated. In one Reddit thread where viewers can discuss what they see on the show, an anonymous user expressed disgust at the poor living conditions of the Gibbs’s dogs. “It’s cruel to breed dogs like that, even in nice conditions, which it doesn’t look like they have at all,” wrote the fan.

Another member of the group agreed: “I cringe every time I see those dogs in the kennels. Did you see the small ones in the wire cage in episode 7? Can’t be good for their paws.”

A final fan summed up their feelings in just one word: “disgusting.”
