Former 90 Day Fiancé star Jason Hitch has died at 45. His sister Shannon revealed to TMZ that he has passed away from complications due to COVID-19 on Tuesday.

Shannon also told the website that Jason didn't have any pre-existing conditions and was not vaccinated. Although she suspects he died of COVID-19 complications, she didn't want to rule out other health factors.

The first lieutenant in the Army reserves in Florida has no pre-existing health conditions. He died in a Florida ICU with his family by his side. He starred in the second season of 90 Day Fiancé in 2014. TLC have sent their condolences to his family and friends.

90 Day Fiancé Star Jason Hitch Married Cassia Taraves

Hitch, who sadly died at 45 from COVID-19, married Cassia Taraves after she moved to the United States from Brazil. 90 Day Fiancé follower the couple after Hitch travelled to South America and helped Taraves move to his hometown in Spring Hill.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, the couple first crossed paths on Facebook in March 2012 after Tavares began dating a friend of his. After that relationship ended, Hitch and Tavares started their own long-distance relationship.

The reality show, which airs on TLC, features several non-American women who get a visa to meet their fiancés. Later they must decide if they want to marry the man or return home. He defended her multiple times against claims she married him for American citizenship.

The show depicts Hitch becoming concerned that his new fiancé wouldn’t like the weather and would become bored with the small town. After getting married, the pair started a mail-order snack business called Gifting Fun. In 2017, they separated before divorcing in 2018. Although they are paid for appearing on the show, many couples struggle financially.

In January 2017, Jason was arrested in connection with domestic battery in an incident with Tavares. According to police reports, the two were arguing over marital issues in bed when he grabbed her arm, leaving a mark, before pushing her to the floor.

After their split, the Brazilian beauty revealed that the pair were friends but struggled to keep a romantic connection. Cassia wrote a heartfelt tribute in an Instagram story to her ex-partner, describing her shock at his untimely passing. In 2019, Jason said explained that their split was down to a lack of communication but believed they would stay friends. He wasn’t thought to be dating anyone else when he passed away.

Costar Danielle Mullins Jbali also posted a throwback photo of the group, expressing her grief over Hitch's passing.
