Nicole Nafziger and Azan first made their debut on Season 4 of 90 Day Fiance, after meeting on a dating app. It didn't take long before the 22-year-old Floridian native and the 24-year-old Moroccan native were clashing over a variety of different reasons, namely the fact that they were dramatically different people. They came from two drastically different walks of life and were trying to maintain a long distance relationship, which is difficult to do even in the best situations.

They were on again, off again for some time, eventually deciding that they just couldn't make it work as a couple. There was a whole lot of drama that took place between these two animated characters. Here's some insight to what their relationship was really like...

10 Cultural Clashing

There was a short time in their relationship during which time the two seemed to be blissfully dating, but before long, the clashing of their cultures became visible. Nicole had a very liberal, Christian lifestyle and wasn't shy in showing PDA while out and about with Azan. He, on the other hand, was far more conservative, and had a strong connection to his Islamic faith. They didn't see eye to eye on even the most basic day-to-day behaviors and their cultural clashing seemed to magnify as time went on.

9 Azan Admits He Was Not Too Attracted To Nicole

Azan has admitted to only being "55 percent attracted" to Nicole, which isn't really what anyone wants to hear about their partner. The fitness expert has ripped abs and makes huge lifestyle sacrifices to maintain his health and body image. Nicole became body-shamed for carrying a few extra pounds, and the two seemed to lack physical compatibility. Physical attraction is a common denominator for any relationship, and this was the first sniff of trouble for this young couple that tried so hard to make it work.

8 There Were Three Failed Marriage Attempts Between Them

In spite of their differences, Nicole and Azan planned to marry... three different times. They had their hearts set on marrying one another and exchanging vows in front of their loved ones, but the world seemed to have a different plan for this coupled. They journeyed through not one, or two, but three failed marriage attempts before calling it quits. Azan's K-1 Visa kept being denied, and the pandemic wreaked havoc on their lives, making everything so much more challenging.

7 Nicole Dreamt Of Having 2 Kids With Azan

Nicole had a young daughter when she was just a teenager, and her little girl's name is May. She has left May with relatives in order to follow Azan to Morocco, which is a move that was greatly judged by fans. In October of 2018, Nicole used her social media platform to announce to fans that she was dreaming of having two more children with Azan, to make it a total of 3 children for the young mom. Of course, that never did end up panning out for the couple.

6 Sponsoring Azan's Visa Became Tenuous

At one point, it was televised on 90 Day Fiance, that Nicole had handed $6,000 to Azan to assist with his finances and his Visa status. However, their relationship relied upon her to earn enough to be able to fully support and sponsor his Visa, and that was simply not something that Nicole could keep up with. Working to sponsor his Visa quickly became an exhausting experience that she just couldn't maintain.

5 Azan Had Some Ambiguous Relationships

This relationship has been riddled with cheating rumors from the start, and Azan was the center of many of these controversies. He is said to have kept many girlfriend across the globe, and it was presumed that he had overstayed one of his Visas with another girlfriend, which is precisely why the United States kept declining his requests. Spain, South Korea, Japan, and England are said to all be locations in which he kept other relationships alive. At one point, Azan was even accused of having an intimate relationship with his own cousin.

4 Nicole Faced Cheating Rumors

Nicole faced her fair share of cheating rumors too and was certainly not guilt-free amid this cheating controversy. Nicole admits to having cheated on Azan when the two were just chatting online, prior to their first in-person meeting with one another. There was also a lot of speculation that she had taken off her ring when she went out with some friends, and this took place during a time that her relationship with Azan wasn't even strained.

3 They Broke Up In July Of 2021

In July of 2021, after a whole lot of on-again, off-again occurrences within their relationship, Nicole and Azan called it quits, for good. Nicole took to social media to announce that they were no longer together, ensuring to reiterate that they were done "for good." She threw out a lot of nice words to commemorate their five-year relationship before telling the world that they were no longer an official item.

2 That Whole 'Fake Dead' Thing...

In what seems to be an effort to garter social media attention and put the spotlight back on herself, Nicole posted an image of herself with Azan which had the words "RIP" sprawled across the photograph. Fans immediately clamored to Azan's social media accounts and quickly discovered it had been a really long time since he had been active online, which made them even more suspicious and worried for the star. Shortly thereafter, Nicole admitted to starting this rumor to generate a stir and remain more current online.

1 They Refrain From Trashing One Another

Despite the fact that these two have clearly journeyed through their fair share of ups and downs, they have remained dedicated to staying respectful of one another. They haven't gone on a diss-blitz, nor have they really trashed the other in any capacity.

As the end of their relationship was announced to the world, Nicole stated, “Azan and I have decided to go our separate ways. We had much love and respect for each other, but we weren’t without our faults. Unfortunately, we can no longer continue our journey together. This may be a shock to many because we stayed strong for so long through it all. But as we move forward and heal, we ask that you respect both parties and not constantly ask about it. Thank you to everyone who has supported us together and continue to support [us] as separate individuals.”
