Spider-Man: No Way Home is highly anticipated by many diehard fans, as the previous film, Far From Home, has become the highest grossing movie by reaching the one billion mark. What will set this movie apart from the previous ones is the epic return of Alfred Molina from the Sam Raimi trilogy as Otto Octavius and Doctor Octopus.
Then came the flood of rumors that Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Spider-Manand Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy are to also appear from the Marc Webb movies. Kristen Dunst is also allegedly set to reprise her role as Mary Jane Watson from the Raimi trilogy, so where does that lead to the one and only Tobey Maguire?
A fan just so happens to encounter Maguire and may have gotten a hint from the star about his involvement with No Way Home. There are fans who are doubtful and rightfully will only believe it if Maguire confirms that or not.
The fan, who goes by @caldas_portugal on Instagram, claims that he is to be in No Way Home, and even perhaps another Spider-Man movie. When an Instagram user asked about his expression when @caldas_portugal asked Maguire about it, he got a wink as a response. At face value, this seems like super exciting news, but a fan isn't the best source material for confirming Maguire reprising his role or not.
One fan on Twitter wrote, "Tbh, this could be true. But, I don't fully believe it. I think we should wait until the No Way Home trailer comes out or the movie comes out. Tobey may confirm it but I think he's likely to deny it to the media."
Another added, "andrew tobey and tom might all be in ny this/next week. maybe they'll be on a late-night talk show and announce it."
Then there's another Instagram account, @tobeyiscomingback, who noticed alongside one fan that the French account for Sony Pictures posted a photo of Maguire as Spider-Man and tagging the Instagram account for the official Spider-Man movies and Spider-Man page. It could be the account just tagging @spidermanmovie because today also happens to be Maguire's birthday.
We will have to wait and hear from the Maguire and the others rumored to be in No Way Home to confirm or deny if they are set to appear in the highly anticipated film.
