While some celebrities simply can't stand their co-stars, others consider them their best friends. Many A-listers met their friends while on set, while others met each other independently or have been friends since their childhood.
The way these celebrities talk about one another suggests that a best friend is one of the most important relationships people can have in their lives. They bring each other to gala events, attend each other's weddings, and offer support in tough times.
10 Matthew McConaughey & Woody Harrelson
Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson have worked on several projects together: Surfer, Dude (2008), EDtv (1999), and most famously, season 1 of True Detective (2014). They're also very good friends in real life, even though they do not live close to one another. They're both originally from Texas and while McConaughey still resides there to this day, Harrelson relocated to Hawaii.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have known each other since they were kids. When they were in 26 and 25 years old, they starred in Good Will Hunting (1997) together. What many don't know is that they also wrote the script for the movie and won an Academy Award for it.

Michelle Williams and Busy Phillips met on the set of Dawson's Creek, a hit TV drama from the late '90s. Williams portrayed the town's newcomer Jen. Phillips was one of the supporting characters, Audrey Liddell. The two have been close ever since.

When tragedy hit Williams' family in 2008, her former co-star was one of the few people who were there for her. Barrymore was one of the movie's producers and has invited her long-time bestie to join the cast. When Barrymore hosted Diaz on The Drew Barrymore Show, her bestie praised her for the entire world to see. The High School Musical girls weren't exactly friendly in the movies, but in real life, Tisdale and Hudgens are good friends. In April 2021, Hudgens met Tisdale's 1 month old baby girl Jupiter and dubbed herself as the "auntie who sings".

While Angela Kinsey and Jenna Fischer's The Office characters weren't exactly close friends, the two actresses consider each other best gal pals in real life. They host a podcast together, called Office Ladies, and have recently published a book about their time on the show, called Office BFFs: Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends Who Were There.
The two tell each other everything that goes on in their lives, offer each other advice and support. According to PEOPLE, Fischer said that the basis of their friendship is listening. "You just need that person who makes you feel seen and heard. That person who helps you process even little decisions when you're standing in Target. Who do you call to tell you if you need another throw pillow or not, you know?", she said.

Speaking of The Office, Kinsey and Fischer aren't the only ones who formed a life-lasting bond while on the show. Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak, too, are also friends in real life.
