Adam Sandler, who is known for his role in the film Big Daddy, actually sparked romance in his life on the set. Not only was it one of his popular comedic characters, but it is also where he met his wife, Jackie.

She wasn't a big-name star, but Adam was almost immediately smitten, and the pair have since enjoyed a love story for the ages.

Adam Sandler And His Wife Jackie's Love Story (And Their Creative Collaborations) Continue

They met on set ages ago, but Adam Sandler and his wife Jackie are still going strong, and they even work together sometimes. This article has been updated with more information about the couple, how they met, and quotes from Adam about the love of his life.

Originally a model, Jackie ventured into acting and landed her first role in 1999’s Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, where she played Sally. Then in the same year, she met Adam and began their love story on the set of Big Daddy. In the movie, she played a character of a waitress working at a bar called Blarney Stone.

Shortly after, the pair began dating, and they have been inseparable since then. But before they decided to tie the knot, the actress converted to Judaism in 2000. Her decision made a significant leap into her relationship with Adam. They then married in 2003 at a lavish wedding ceremony in Malibu, California, where their dog even wore a suit and tie for the occasion.

Adam talked about how nervous he was to propose to Jackie back in the day, saying, "“I played basketball that afternoon, trying to calm down, and then I was driving, I was saying stuff out loud and trying to, you know, make sure I hit all of the right things so she would remember nice stuff, and I did all right."

Practice clearly made perfect, as Jackie said yes and called her grandma and mom immediately to tell them the news.

The pair have since welcomed two daughters, Sunny and Sadie, who also feature in their dad's movies (he says he doesn't make them, but they sure act that way, all while begging for roles).

Adam also posts about his wife often on social media, and from his posts, it's clear that the two are completely in love. Sandler brings his wife on stage during comedy performances (including a Valentine's Day one) and gushes over her all the time.

Unlike many Hollywood couples, it doesn't seem that heightened fame has gotten in the way of the pair's romance, and even Sandler's comedy routines are a whole-family affair.

Adam And Jackie Worked Together In Several Projects

While their relationship started on screen, the two have continued to work together on several projects like Grown Ups, Just Go With It, 50 First Dates, and Hotel Transylvania. In 2019, Jackie appeared in Adam and Jennifer Aniston’s film, Murder Mystery.

She was selected to play the role of an onboard flight attendant who denied Nick Spitz (Adam) a seat upgrade by politely saying, “Sir, you would have needed to request that in advance.”

Of course, Jackie also has a hand in many of her husband's projects (though she's not involved with his production company, Happy Madison).

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the Hollywood star revealed that his wife always encourages him to take on projects that he finds difficult. He told Ellen that he would not be on board in the film Uncut Gems if not for Jackie’s help.

He said, “I read it, I loved the movie, but I was scared to do it. Then I asked Jackie to read it. We do this together, me and Jackie, we discuss what I’m going to do, and she gives me strength and courage to jump into this stuff.”

Adam shared that his wife came to the rescue when she felt he was not giving his best during a kissing scene with longtime friend and onscreen partner, Jennifer Aniston. He jokingly said, “The only awkward part is hearing my wife on the side going, ‘Harder! Harder! Kiss her harder! Deeper!”

Adam also divulged that his wife and children have watched his kissing scene with Jennifer. He mused, “They love it. They love Aniston, and they want her to have good things and they say, ‘Give her something nice.’”

Not only that, but Jackie and Jennifer are apparently teaming up against their respective husband and movie husband. Adam joked that both ladies were trying to get him into better shape, "tag-teaming to try to make [him] a healthier human being."

In a hilarious speech, Jackie called Adam a "disrupter," made a crass joke about the couple's intimacy, and wholly celebrated "the real Adam" as he was awarded a humor prize in early 2023—proving that she's an even match for her comedian husband.
