Its been quite the week for Adele. A massive TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, a televised live TV concert, and a disastrous interview with Australian TV host Matt Doran (who on earth hasn't listened to Adele's new album yet?). But things only got tougher this week for the 33-year-old songstress, who is currently doing the media rounds big-style to promote 30.

Adele found herself in the firing line from fellow brits Piers Morgan and Janet Street Porter, for what they perceived as 'deeply shallow' behaviour. Online users, too, have been joining in the criticism. So what are people complaining about? Read on to find out more.

6 Adele Was Extremely Proud Of Her Oprah Interview

Adele's Oprah interview was a massive success with fans, and was broadcast across the world - bringing in huge audience figures.

Tweeting after the show aired, Adele described it as: 'The most beautiful venue I've ever played.

'Thank you to everyone who made it possible. To Oprah for allowing me to tell my truth lovingly in a safe space. The whole thing was pretty overwhelming, I've seen it twice and cried my eyes out both times.'

5 Janet Street Porter Has Had Enough Of Adele's Tears

British columnist Janet Street Porter wrote strongly in her Daily Mail article this week, which was titled 'I used to adore the old Adele and I still love her music but I can’t stand the way she’s turned into an over-packaged, self-important musical Meghan Markle.' Porter stated that she was tired of Adele's emotional outpourings - particularly during her Oprah interview - and struggled to find sympathy for the singer.

'The fake misery, the gushing tears on tap every hour,' wrote Porter, 'and the vacuousness of her bright shiny life in sunny California. Hiking, the gym, blah blah blah.

'Adele is everywhere, telling us about the 'struggles' that fired her song writing; about the fact she's got a framed bit of Celine Dion's chewing gum in her house and wicker chairs in her garden.'

4 She Was Also Sceptical Of Adele's Reasoning For Her Divorce

Janet was also critical of Adele's recent divorce, seemingly finding the star's reasoning to be rather petty, and concluding that the 'deeply shallow' Adele has cast aside a 'devoted and nice husband.'

'We've had all the details about her 'journey' from a rich woman with a devoted and nice husband to even wealthier woman 'traumatised' by a divorce that she appears to have instigated.'

In the past, Porter says, 'Adele wore her heart on her sleeve, and that's why her lyrics chronicling insecurity and loss were relatable to so many people.

'But now she's one of the most famous people in the world with a multi-million-pound fortune isn't it time to button up, to let the songs speak for themselves, to spare us the back story, the intimate details about a failed marriage- especially when we are only hearing one side of the story?'

Sadly, it seems the more Adele says, the greater the realisation for some people that she's deeply shallow.

3 Journalist Piers Morgan Was Also Critical

It was ever-controversial columnist Piers Morgan who also stuck the boot in. The ex-Good Morning Britain host penned an article called 'Sorry Adele – you're a great singer but sharing your young son's heartache and pain with the entire world to flog your album is shameful and the rankest hypocrisy' - and he certainly didn't hold back!

'Adele's behavior is straight from the Meghan and Harry playbook,' he wrote, 'right down to invading her own privacy to America's foremost TV therapist, Oprah Winfrey.

'However, it's one thing to flog one's own privacy in such a shamelessly two-faced fashion, but quite another to flog your child's, too.'

2 He Took Exception To Her Use Of Son Angelo's Voice Recordings

In particular, Morgan was disappointed with Adele's decision to use recordings of private conversations she's had with son Angelo, 9, which were included on the album.

In the track 'My Little Love', Piers says 'Adele includes audio voice note recordings from incredibly intimate conversations with her son in which he tries to stop her crying during as her short-lived marriage unravels.

For this, and for 'divorcing his dad', Piers predicted Angelo will be resentful later in life.

'Has she given a moment's thought to how Angelo might feel when he grows up to have had his agonizing conversations with his sobbing mum about her decision to dump his dad broadcast to the world?

'Adele says her therapist suggested she tape their chats to have a record of what she said in the difficult conversations.

'Did that therapist also suggest it would be a good idea to stick those conversations on an actual record that will sell millions of copies? I suspect not.'

1 Some Fans Also Had A Problem With Adele's Recent Decision Making

Many also took to the comments sections to express their doubts about the ballad-maker's behaviour.

'Adele needs to stick to music and stop the incessant whining and wokery. It's got really boring now' wrote one fan.

'I wish Adele had just performed & no interview with Oprah. I missed the old Adele. She looks over commercialized now' said another.

'I miss the British Adele,' complained one user, 'Now that she's become a California Barbie, her allure and cache is long gone.'
