A nourishing face mask can brighten your day and save your skin. Doing a weekly face mask can help breakouts and will keep your complexion moisturized. Moisturization really is a major key to looking young, so weekly face masks are an important step in fighting the aging process.
Actress Priyanka Chopra has undoubtedly gorgeous skin and has shared some of her best beauty secrets to her fans. Apparently, coconut oil is the best cleanser for all skin types. But if you're looking for something a little more intensive, she shared an Indian face mask that she learned to make from her own mother. It apparently makes the skin smooth and glowing. And what is the main ingredient that leaves your skin looking so refreshed? Turmeric.
Priyanka divulged the recipe to Harpers Bazaar, and you most likely have all of the inexpensive ingredients in your home already. This is a classic Indian style face mask that has been passed on from mothers to daughters. All you need is whole wheat flour, turmeric, lime juice, full-cream yogurt, and rose water. Mix all of these ingredients in a small bowl adding more rose water until you reach your desired consistency. Apply to the face and leave on for 15-20 minutes before rinsing it off with a gentle rubbing motion to exfoliate the skin.
This mask will leave you with soft and supple skin, as well as fight breakouts and minimize pores. If it leaves our skin looking anything like Priyanka Chopra's, we'll be happy!
Turmeric is an earthy smelling spice that leaves a slightly bitter flavor when added to food. It is used heavily in Asian and Middle Eastern cultures. It has many natural healing powers and can be used in a variety of ways for beauty and health. Tumeric contains curcumin which is an anti-inflammatory agent, that should reduce puffiness in the face and help with the inflammation that can come with acne as well.
Scientifically speaking, the healing properties of turmeric have been unfounded, yet the spice has been used in eastern medicine for years. It certainly must do its job well if Chopra continues to use it in her mask! Try it out and decide for yourself!
