Airbnb is hosting a contest to win the sleepover of a lifetime at the Louvre in Paris that’ll make you feel like a work of art as you snooze bedside the Mona Lisa.
The Louvre is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its famed glass pyramid, a stunning creation by world-renowned architect I. M. Pei. What better way is there to celebrate a birthday than a night surrounded by incredible art with dinner and drinks and included?
To enter, you can head to the official contest page and answer one simple question: “Why would you be the Mona Lisa’s perfect guest?” If you think you can provide an answer so good it could make the Mona Lisa crack a smile, make sure to submit your response by April 12.
The actual sleepover will be held April 30, which gives you a couple of weeks to daydream about all the perks you’ll get while enjoying your once-in-a-lifetime stay inside the legendary museum.
According to CNN, the winner gets to sleep in a gorgeous white tent that’s a cozy replica of the Louvre’s pyramid with their plus one. Before you curl up in bed for the night and look over some museum art memes, you can set out on a custom, private tour of the artwork. Drinks and a meal are provided, as well as an intimate acoustic concert.
Airbnb has a history hosting of contests for fun overnight experiences. In 2018, they attempted to hold an overnight experience on top of the Great Wall of China, called “Night at The Great Wall”. Set up for four people in one of the wall's towers, the event was canceled after concerns arose that it would damage the wall.
If you’re in the running to spend the night at the Louvre, why not go a step further coordinate your outfit with the artwork? We can’t imagine how exciting it would be to spend the night surrounded by the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, and Venus With Three Graces, but we sure are glad Airbnb is making that a reality.
If we’re lucky, maybe they’ll offer an overnight experience at the Dachshund Museum in Germany next.
