Frustrated travelers at a Dallas airport were treated to unexpected positivity thanks to a talented dance troupe that also happened to be waiting for their flight.
Whether it's for business or pleasure, nothing can set your trip off on a worse note than hearing that dreaded intercom announcement at the airport that your flight has been delayed. Even an hour or two can seriously sour any traveler's spirit. But delay a flight six hours and that's going to lead to a massively grumpy planeload of passengers when takeoff finally happens.
Enter the Funkywunks, a dance troupe from Orlando, FL and NBC's World of Dance 2018 Season 2 contestants. Inspire More reported that the Funkywunks found themselves delayed six-plus hours as well and after looking around at the understandable frustration that their fellow travelers were suffering from, they decided to do something to lighten the atmosphere.
The Funkywunks, made up of 17 - 28-year-old dancers, mainly focus on hip-hop and they are quite accomplished. Besides their recent World of Dance appearances, the group claimed the title to the U.S. All Star Federation championship in 2015.
Even without a stage and any of the professional settings that these champions are used to, the tired group saw an opportunity to do what they do best - entertain. The entire group got into position while one member rushed to put on an extended dance version of Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk."
Immediately, the vibe in the room changed from surprise to awe and at the end of the dance routine, the group got a huge round of applause from appreciative stranded passengers.
You can check out the dance on the Funkywunks' Facebook page and while you're there don't forget to drop a like for all of their hard work! After all, it's not easy being funky and these guys certainly do an excellent job of it. Life is better with more fun surprises like this one, especially for tired and irritated passengers!
