Alicia Keys has sold over 42 million albums worldwide, making her one of the most successful R&B singers of all-time. So it should to no surprise that this woman has amassed an enormous fortune worth $100 million.

With seven studio albums under her belt, the mother of three has certainly earned a lot of money thanks to the fact that she also pens and produces many of her own songs — but the real moneymaker for Alicia has been reality TV.

In 2016, she joined the US edition of The Voice, where she took home a reported $8 million per season, which wasn’t quite as much as co-judge Miley Cyrus made, but enough to keep Alicia coming back for two more runs.

How Much Did Alicia Keys Make On ‘The Voice’?

NBC announced in 2016 that Alicia and Miley would be joining The Voice for its 11th series, and while fans were excited by the revelation of two new mainstream artists joining Blake Shelton and Adam Levine on the show, reports of their salaries appeared to drive just as much interest.

Despite her successful music career, Alicia was said to have only received a salary of $8 million, which seems fairly low considering her accolades in the entertainment industry — especially when comparing those numbers to Miley, who made $13 million per season.

Still, it seemed as if Alicia was happy with the money considering that she returned for Season 12 and Season 14 before deciding to take a break to commence work on her seventh studio album, ALICIA, which was released in September 2020.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the “No One” chart-topper explained what made her want to sign up to the competition show, to begin with.

“It's all about passion. I think it's all about touching people," she said. "I think that's why everybody loves this show, it's about real, bona fide artists and talent out here showing you what they have, and you're like, 'I'm invested. I want you.’

“I think, we as women, we are culture changers. I think the more we share our stories, and the more our stories are heard, then the less isolated we feel,” Alicia added.

“And I think one of the biggest things that has happened, especially with the Me Too movement -- and all the movements that have come around and just really empowering women, making sure that we say who we are -- is that we get a chance to be together.”

Then, in September 2019, it was announced that Alicia had signed an administration deal with Universal Music Publishing Group, meaning that any further music from that point onward was going to be supported by UMPG.

For someone like Alicia, who is known to write most of her own songs, owning publishing rights to her music is critical, so for the fact that she has a lucrative deal in place so that she can retain some sort of authorship over her artistry is fantastic.

But most importantly, it’s undoubtedly another wide income generator for the “Un-thinkable” songstress.

In a statement by UMPG chairman and CEO Jody Gerson, it was shared: "At the beginning of her career, I was fortunate to have signed Alicia to her first music publishing deal at age 14.

We shared tremendous success together over time and our relationship grew from a professional, publisher-songwriter relationship into a deep, personal friendship. Now, it is an honor to bring Alicia into my UMPG family.”

Aside from music and reality TV, Alicia also makes a lot of her money from other businesses that she owns including her skincare brand Keys Soulcare, offering consumers a range of paraben-free beauty products for all skin types.

The 39-year-old is also a best-selling author thanks to the success of her book More Myself: A Journey, which hit stores back in March 2020. If she can write dozens of hit songs, there was little to no doubt that Alicia could also pen an open book about her personal life and struggles.

No word on how much she earned from the book deal, but we’ll assume it was a hefty figure for the New York native.

In May 2020, Alicia announced she had canceled her ALICIA world tour amid the coronavirus pandemic, which would’ve ultimately earned her a significant amount of money considering this is the first time she’ll have been on the road since 2013’s Set the World on Fire Tour.

If all goes to plan and the world crisis begins to stabilize itself, with fewer rules and regulations concerning social distancing, Alicia could still move ahead with her tour in 2021, but for the foreseeable future, plans to perform live for her fans around the world remain postponed until further notice.
