Of all the child stars who have fallen apart before everyone's eyes, Amanda Bynes is one of the most heartbreaking cases. The downhill spiral of Amanda Bynes is one that people are pretty familiar with. From DUIs to hit and runs, substance abuse to strange social media posts, the actress has had a lot of tough moments in her young life.

There are many unflattering photos of Amanda Bynes that don't put her in the best light, and it seems like on a weekly basis, there is a news story about the tough times that she's still going through. The actress used to be pretty rich with a net worth of $8 million, but does she still have the same amount today? Let's take a look at her net worth now.

$3 Million Net Worth

Amanda Bynes is working toward her Bachelor's Degree which is really good news. When she finishes college, she'll have to decide if she wants to go back to acting or work in another field, and fans will be interested to see where she ends up.

But how much money does she have in the bank right now? In 2007, Amanda Bynes had an $8 million net worth,  but she doesn't have nearly that much anymore. Bynes has a net worth of $3 million.

Some of the star's most popular roles include Daphne in What A Girl Wants, the main character in Sydney White, and Marianne in Easy A. Bynes made her money starring in these films and also from her TV roles, as she starred on All ThatThe Amanda Show, and What I Like About You.

Although the star has many fans who loved watching her films, it turns out that she didn't feel as cheerful about her Hollywood career as everyone else did. According to Cheat Sheet, Bynes explained that she really didn't have the time of her life. She said, "Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem. I know 24 is a young age to retire … I’ve never written the movies and TV shows I’ve been a part of. I’ve only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play."

The Wealth Of The Olsen Twins

Many people grew up watching Amanda Bynes in movies like She's The Man and What A Girl Wants, and the same people also loved Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The Olsen twins released many direct-to-video movies and also starred in the more mainstream film like It Takes Two.

Bynes and the Olsens might be part of the same generation, as they're all 34 years old, but they don't have the same kind of financial situation.

According to Hollywood Life, back in 2013, Bynes said she was "in the Mary-Kate and Ashley type of wealth.” As the publication reported, the Olsen twins have a net worth of $300 million, and Bynes has never had a number close to that in her bank account. While she has always had millions of dollars, which is definitely a lot of money, $3 million and $8 million are nowhere near $300 million.

Money Complications

It's definitely logical that Bynes wouldn't have the same amount of wealth anymore as she is no longer a working actress and also has had to pay for many legal bills. According to Entertainment Weekly, Bynes had her first DUI in April 2012 which she was charged with that summer. That September, she was charged with two hit-and-run counts, and she settled with two people in December 2012. And that's only the trouble that she got into in 2012.

According to a People.com story from 2017, Amanda Bynes wasn't in charge of her own money as her mom, Lynn, was her conservator for a period of three years. But in 2017, Bynes was able to be in charge of her money once again. The star's lawyer, Nyree Kolanjian, said, "The court felt, based on Amanda’s progress and her great relationship with her parents, there was no longer a need for court supervision of Amanda’s money and she and her family can handle her financial affairs privately."

Bynes has also spent money on rehab stays, although in one case, it sounds like she didn't pay the bill when she was supposed to. According to In Touch Weekly, Bynes was in rehab for two days in February 2019, and the center said that she skipped out on the bill, which was $2,467. They sued the actress to make sure that they got the payment.
