Angelina Jolie doesn't have the greatest reputation among the A-listers. She was blamed for driving apart Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston and mostly makes the headlines these days because of the divorce she filed for back in 2016. What a lot of people seem to forget is that Angelina has done more for the world than many other celebrities combined.

Angelina no longer stars in movies, she either produces her own stories or spends time helping people in need. She traveled to all corners of the world to speak up for those without a voice.

10 She Spoke Up For Rhoyinga Refugees

While the rest of the world stood idly by during the Rhoyinga refugee crisis, Jolie traveled to Bangladesh to address the issue at hand.

According to Reuters, she visited the world’s largest refugee settlement in 2019 and condemned the world for not doing enough to prevent the exodus of nearly a million people from Myanmar: "What is most tragic about this situation is that we cannot say we had no warning."

9 Her Work With United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)

Angelina Jolie's work at the UNHCR is even more impressive than her extensive filmography. She might be associated with the Maleficent, but she is actually the exact opposite in real life.

She first contacted the Un after coming home from shooting Tomb Raider in Cambodia in 2001. She went on to donate $1 million to the organization and she soon became a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador. In 2012, she became a Special Envoy. Thanks to everything she has done for Cambodia, she was even awarded their citizenship. Therefore, she became one of the celebs who hold a dual citizenship.

8 Her Work With Refugees Around The World

Angelina's work is not just about donating large sums of money, it's also about her immersing herself in the lives of those less fortunate. In the past two decades, she visited refugees all over the world, including Afghanistan and Syria. She shakes people's hands, talks to them, and tells their stories to everybody who is willing to listen.

She also produced several movies that portray the horrors of their lives. The most notorious is her directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey (2011), a shockingly explicit movie about the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

7 She Is A Patron Of The Harnas Wildlife Foundation

After starring in Beyond Borders (2003), a movie set in Namibia, she became a patron of the Harnas Wildlife Foundation. It's a wildlife orphanage that takes in wild animals that are in need of help. Forget about Tiger King, Jolie deserves to be crowned the queen of wild animals.

That's not even the only wildlife-related project she took on. She bought a large piece of land in Cambodia, turned it into a wildlife reserve and called it the Maddox Jolie Project after her first son.

6 The Maddox Jolie-Pitt (MJP) Foundation

What was initially a wildlife reserve in Cambodia transformed into something much bigger. Since Angelina married Brad Pitt in 2014, she renamed the project into the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

She created Asia's first Millenium Village, a rural development project that tackled pressing issues, such as poverty and disease. In Kenya, she funded a community that employed former poachers as rangers and helped develop much of the infrastructure, such as a school and a factory.

5 Style of Jolie

While some celebs start their own product lines for their personal gain, Angelina Jolie established Style of Jolie as a charity. In 2010, Jolie collaborated with a famous jeweler, Richard Procop, on a jewelry collection.

All of the proceedings went towards the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, a program she co-chaired since 2007. Her humanitarian work is truly all-encompassing.

4 Venezuelan Refugees

Angelina's humanitarian efforts are not limited to Middle East, Asia, and Africa. In 2019, she also visited Colombia to meet thousands of Venezuelan refugees.

2 Her Donation To A Certain Lemonade Stand

In September 2020, Angelina Jolie gave her money to two sweet boys who ran a lemonade stand in London. They were raising money for the citizens of Yemen. Not only did she fully participate in alleviating humanitarian crises around the world, she also inspired the youth to try and make a difference.

Not the least and certainly not the least, Angelina founded the Jolie Legal fellowship, a network of lawyers and attorneys who promote human rights in their countries.

She also funded a lot of legal pro bono work for immigrant children through Kids in Need of Defense (KIND).
