Amber Heard is up in arms over a recent rumor that suggested her role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been completely axed. The actress issued a statement addressing the bombshell report — which stated that Warner Bros had decided to recast her part — calling the whole thing bogus. Heard insisted her character would still appear in the flick, set to be released next year, despite rumors to the contrary.

Amber Heard Has NOT Been Cut From Aquaman 2

On Tuesday, gossip outlet JustJared reported that Warner Bros made the decision to scrub the actress's role after screen-testing the film. What’s worse, the outlet reported that Mera — the part played by Heard — had been recast, and Nicole Kidman would be stepping in to do reshoots with Jason Momoa.

“Warner Bros. decided to recast Amber Heard‘s role after screen-testing the movie. They are going to be doing reshoots with Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman,” the outlet claimed.

Heard says the rumor couldn’t be further from the truth: “The rumor mill continues as it has from day one – inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane."

For what it’s worth, the outlet later issued an update to their reporting with an additional source claiming that the actress “has not been completely cut from the film” and that her character “still has a small role.” However, the gossip rag reiterated that their source stood by the previous report that Heard’s part would be recast.

The Actress Says Her Role Shrank After Her Court War With Johnny Depp

During Heard's high-profile court battle against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, the actress spoke about the struggle she faced to keep her role in the film amid public vitriol against her — especially on social media — after Depp accused her of concocting her abuse claims.

"I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving any spoiler aways, two characters fighting with one another, and they basically took a bunch out of my role," Heard revealed the court. "They just removed a bunch out."

For now, it looks like she’s set to appear in the film despite some fans saying they’ve 'Heard' enough from the actress.
