Comedy does so much more than serve as an entity that makes us laugh!  An Inside Look Into Pete And John's Friendship

If the Saturday Night Live cast was divided into groups and given the same Mean Girls-style map treatment of the clique placements of cast members, Pete Davidson and John Mulaney would likely not be found sitting at the same 'table.'

The 'opposites attract' nature of their friendship not only made it interesting for the world to watch, perhaps due to the aforementioned 'fun factor' of watching two polar opposites enjoy each other's company, but Davidson and Mulaney's opposite public personas both serve as a deeper pillar; their opposite personalities are incredibly enduring because they enhance each other's lives for the better, giving a sense of authenticity to their respective public personas.

Davidson and Mulaney may be celebrities with public personas, but in reality, they are just two dudes who are aware of the intricacies of being human and choose to laugh about it in order to combat the seriousness life can bring.

The pair are aware that their friendship may raise a few eyebrows. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the pair were discussing Davidson's new film The King Of Staten Island, and he jokingly responded he wished for Mulaney to be part of the cast due to the pair's "Make-A-Wish foundation friendship." The duo went on to joke about how different their zany buddy comedy style friendship could appear to the unsuspecting eye because of their opposite public personas and comedic styles, but there is plenty for the duo to bond over!

In an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Mulaney unveiled a gem of a story illustrating the power and sweetness of his friendship with Davidson; he and his wife took their pal to a Steely Dan concert and Davidson's reaction and response to the outing was perfectly suited to his personality! According to Mulaney, his pal had no idea who the legendary 1970's rock band was: He thought Steely Dan was a comedian! Davidson also was put off by the idea that their fans were stagnant at the concert, and he was able to bring the audience members to their feet. Any friendship with that power will definitely endure!
