Renée Zellweger has always kept us on our toes when it comes to her love life. The actress was once married to Kenny Chesney back in 2005, however, the duo split the same year they tied the knot. Since then, Renee has been romantically linked to a number of Hollywood names, however, it appears as if she may have finally found "the one".

While fans have always associated her Bridget Jones' Diary character with her real-life self, it seems as if that's all come to an end after officially confirming her relationship with British television presenter, Ant Anstead. The two haven't been together for too long, however, it's becoming clear that they just might be in it for the long run.

Fans began to pour the question in, wondering where the two met, when, and just how long they've been dating for. While Anstead has shared a few details, there's one embarrassing one that had us all laughing out loud!

How Did Ant And Renée Meet?

Renée Zellweger has always managed to keep her love life relevant, whether it was through her short-lived marriage to Kenny Chesney, or her many romantic flings that have led folks to believe that she just might be the real-life version of her on-screen Bridget Jones' Diary character.

Well, despite being single for quite some time, Renée has found herself in a new relationship, and this one just might be "the one". Zellweger has been dating HGTV host, Ant Anstead for a few months now, and fans cannot get enough of the two. While they've been packing on the PDA, mainly outside of Anstead's soccer game, which took place in Orange County, California, they're also not being shy about posting on Instagram.

After officially going public with their romance on Ant's Instagram page, fans poured in the question as to how the two first met. The pair first crossed paths when Renée joined Ant on his new Discovery+ show, Celebrity IOU: Joyride, which actually just premiered two weeks ago! Talk about good timing, right? With their relationship on everybody's mind, the series received quite an influx of ratings.

News of their budding romance began at the start of the summer, and now with their episode airing, things couldn't have worked out more perfectly. Although their Instagram post stunned fans, as the two haven't had the best of luck when it comes to past relationships, however, as they've been out and about more and more, it's looking as if this might be a long-term romance, and we're totally here for it!

On August 7, Renée and Ant made their very first public appearance together at the Radford Motors gala at the Lyon Air Museum, making it clear that cars seem to be a commonality that these two share now, eh? Despite giving the public a few sneak peeks into their love life, Ant has made it clear that moving forward, he and Renée will be keeping things somewhat private. Although their relationship is still relatively fresh, Ant is already dishing on quite an embarrassing mistake he made when he had first met Zellweger.

Ant Thought Renée Was British At First

Despite experiencing a whirlwind romance at the moment, Ant Anstead and Renée Zellweger got off to quite the hilarious start. When it was announced that Renée would be one of the many celebs to join Ant and his co-host, Chris Lee on their automatic reality series, Ant was head over heels excited, however, he learned something he hadn't known before.

When Lee was giving Anstead the 411 when it came to Zellweger, he pointed out that during the filming of Bridget Jones' Diary, Renée spoke with a British accent even when the cameras weren't rolling. This sparked a few questions for Ant, who thought Zellweger was actually British, to begin with! Since her character in the film does, in fact, speak with a British accent, and with Renée keeping the accent up behind the scenes, up until the wrap party actually, it's no surprise that Ant mistook her for a Brit herself, heck, many of us did, too!

"Are you telling me that Bridget Jones - Renée Zellweger, isn't British?" he asked Chris Lee. The host was quick to let Ant know that she's actually from Texas, and considering Anstrad is British himself, it's no surprise he was visibly shocked. Luckily for Ant, he was able to get to know Renée more and more following her appearance on the series, and we're certain that her accent is the last thing on his mind.
